Just a reminder, Tanjiro is the eldest sibling in his family so that's why he knows how to deal with peoples who have a childish or selfish behavior.
Funny to say that when he didn´t kill her demon sister who transformed and could´ve killed inocent humans.

people saying that Tanjiro's only characteristic is that he is nice will never not make me angry. He has demons, he suffers, yet despite that he remains kind. But he has experienced anger and hatred, he just tried to not let that CONTROL him. He is a great character and if you find him boring simply bc he isn't a dick then idk what to tell you
^This, well said. Only thing more frustrating than people only regarding Tanjiro as nice is not liking his character because they "think" he's "too nice". Tanjiro has the qualities of the Buddha or Dalai Lama or Desmond Tutu. Remaining kind despite pain/tragedy instead of becoming embittered.

Tanjiro only gets mad when someone hurts people, but he's always understanding. Like for real he's everyone's kind older brother.
The idea that Tanjiro could be seen as a boring character because of how nice he is is total bs. It’s the most compelling part about him. The fact that despite feeling sympathy for demons and viewing them as tragic creatures, he’ll still kill them without hesitation (minus his first encounter) because his sense of justice overrides his personal feelings
If you think about it, he's the weirdo in the Demon Slayer Corps (ironic because most of them are weirdos for us) for being so sympathetic, even to Demons. I can understand finding characters that are perfect to be boring but sometimes you just need a genuinely good guy, *especially* in dark shows.
It’s called an opinion I think he’s pretty boring and just because he’s a nice guy and does good things is his character it doesn’t make it interesting
I don't think his sense of justice and his personal feelings are at odds. If anything, Tanjiro kills the demons out of mercy, knowing that unlike Nezuko (and the demon doctor) they have to prey on humans to survive- they don't have a choice. So, he honors their lives by slaying them so that they can find true peace.

I like Tanjirou, but he is a bit of a Mary Sue. His personality fits the themes of the show, a big brother who shows sympathy to demons’ plight and showcases the moral dilemma of the humans not asking to become what they are, yet still deserving judgement for their actions. But him as a person to me lacks flaws/personal mental “demons” to overcome and I can see why that would be uninteresting/annoying to some viewers.
Not filler, character building. We MUST introduce the crew, if they showed up outa nowhere it would be weird and we would have to take another episode to establish their dynamic. This episode did it in one and established the characters in such a strong way that we know what to expect with them.
How in the hell is this episode "fillery"? Even at this point, so early in the story, you have to assumed that these 3 guys are gonna have a very important friendship throughout the series and this is the first episode when we see that relationship get develop. For me is actually one of the best and most important episodes of the first season because is the first time we see the 3 of them interact and starting this friendship that will be one of the main cores of the whole series
Yeah, I feel as though according to them, any episode that doesn't include fighting or new information relative to the lore is a filler.
Yeah we get to see how the characters interact outside of battle.

The glory of Inosuke and his anime trope...the berserker ! It's a perfect exemple of it, the guy who just fight for fun, takes injuries to get more fun and is non-stop confrontational to get more fights !! Also, god damn does he got a great choregraphy against Tanjiro ! That guys is just pure fun and complete well this trio !

I always feel disappointed when world building episodes are seen as "fillery episodes". Not all episodes that have fight scenes are non filler episodes. Same goes with world building/character building episodes being considered as filler episodes.
The thing about Tanjiro is that he's an older brother so Inosuke trying to get a rise out of him isn't going to work. He knows how little kids work and since Inosuke and Zenitsu are both kind of childish, Tanjiro approaches them like he's their older brother. He's kind, patient, and understanding, but isn't afraid to reprimand them or punish them when they do or say something wrong.
FILLER?! This was a fantastic episode. Tons of comedy, properly intoduced us to Inosuke, added him to the party, and established the dynamic of their crew while also giving us a really sick fight in the beginning. They said goodbye to the siblings and now they've gotten to a Slayer rest area where they can recover. I'd say that's a lot.

Tanjiro's headbutt give him a delayed concussion causing him to pass out. after experiencing that loss he attempts to strengthen his head bye head-butting trees. So that he can't lose that way again.
I don't know why Zenitsu bothers some people so much. They're all extremes of their characters. Tanjiro is literally thick-skulled, Inosuke is the brutish jock, and Zenitsu's the goofball. Zenitsu's meant to be over-the-top, and I think he plays the role perfectly. For me, the comedy gold lies in how their extremes clash with one another, and these breather episodes really let that shine. The show, for the most part, has such a heavy tone that I feel like it needs these moments, so I don't see it as filler. It's good to laugh before you cry; makes it easier to bear. :)

When it comes to anime, a filler is when there’s no source material (Manga chapters in this case) and they need more episodes to make the season longer or have some more breathing room for the manga to go far enough.

To them if there is no fight or action in general is filler, even though this episode enclosed and showed the complete dinamic these 4 characters will have. Everything here is important for Inosuke and Zenitsu's character development.

And the flaw conversation is quite interesting. I don't think you can say that Tanjiro's motivation or just pure intentions are his flaws. I think a better perspective to take is that his flaw is that he is not strong enough at the moment and as Urokodaki said his indecision. Might not be clear now but definitely will be soon.

real dbz fanboys would know angry goku isn't just vegeta, goku fights for fun and almost values fun fights above all else however vegeta while he also enjoys fighting he usually fights and trains out of necessity(he trained after cell encase another threat came, same with buu beerus and frieza) goku just trains for fun to fight fun opponents, the exact same as inosuke. vegeta doesn't so much care about being the best(anymore/not as much) as long as he can protect his family and planet, goku wants to be the strongest for fun and to find new opponents, the EXACT same as inosuke.

After watching this episode, I felt like Zenitsu was the sanest one in the group.
It’s understandable that Zenitsu is just a scared little kid but he’s actually the smartest out of the three
If I understand correctly, a filler is an anime exclusive part of the story that was created because they caught up with the manga and they have to wait for new manga chapters first to proceed with the plot.
I might be wrong tho, this is only the 3rd anime I watched.
Fun fact, Tanjiro gets his hard head from his mother. According to a data book by author she once headbutted a boar and knocked it unconscious. I imagine the author did this as a little joke but nonetheless it's funny.

this episode is amazing? it builds their relationship between the 3 perfectly, we got a super intense hand to hand fight, with lots of fun humour.

It's rare in a way, because he is not trying to get revenge on every demon or to be the best demon slayer, he just wants his sister to be human again.

The reason why the writers show a lot of Tanjiro having compassion for even the demons is mostly because they show a lot of Sad character stories even towards the strongest Demons, especially since they were all previously humans before.

Guys, Tanjirou is not perfect, he's just a good guy, you need to think that he's the big brother of five child, he knows how to deal with childs, he don't get offended easily unless someone is mean to others, his parents were really nice people and raised him well. He needed to take care of his family after his father passed away, soo he mature even more, Tanjirou can be pretty naive sometimes, cause he lived in a remote mountain, the only way he could interact with other people was on the small village that wasn't near at all.
In my opinion, Tanjirou's ability of interpret the smell that others release has made him simpatize that much even with demons (just as Zenitsu with his audition, but he's the opposite lol i know yall said Zenitsu is too much but can you blame him? he was pushed to fight DEMONS 😰)

I wouldn’t say it’s a filler you definitely would not be able to skip this episode because if you did you wouldn’t know why Inosuke is with them and they both see Nezuko for the first time you also learned about Inosuke’s character like him not having a family and his first face reveal and his odd hyperactive but goofy personality also his fight with Tanjiro was pretty awesome(also here you learned about his fighting style). You guys always make good reactions and I am always interested when watching these. I wanted to let you guys know that you are my favorite channel to go to for anime reactions!
