@@kcb-chris1378 I have a truck and since I'm planning on starting a junk hauling business, I also have a 5x10 utility trailer. But I have seen others manage this by using in-town Uhaul rental trucks. They tend to be fairly cheap, usually something like $20 plus mileage.
Did my first batch of flips last week. 2 sectionals and a nice leather couch with a chair and ottoman paired with it. Made $940 gross (paid 75 altogether) and they all sold in the first day. I already am renting a storage unit in my second week and currently have 6 sectionals/sets and one couch as inventory. I basically used all my money for dollies, cleaning supplies, storage, and gas from my first week to grow my operation quickly. Not a lot of competition in my area which I find odd, but that's cool with me! Thank you for sharing your strategy, I legitimately can't keep up with the supply of good couches to flip so another 3 or 4 folks in my area probably wouldn't do me much harm.
I was in your shoes last year. Every since Ryan posted the first couch flipping video a think 15 new couch flippers showed up in my area and now it's hella hard to do it because it's very saturated. My biggest piece of advice is stack your money! I didn't my first year because I thought I'd be making 15-20k for ever but that was the opposite. Now with all these other resellers we barely pulled in 10k last month and that's gross :( keep grinding, save your money so you can invest it elsewhere i.e. real estate/ airbnb rental arbitrage. I managed to do this while being in school online due to the pandemic. Im still in school im a 17 year old senior in high school. Im currently still flipping couches and managed to get a better pickup truck and then eventually managed to purchase a box truck cash. Im located in miami and have a 10/30 storage unit! My short term goal is to save up enough money to purchase a property before graduating high school! My long term goal would be to become a full time house flipper and investor!

Those prices are crazy, i get $300-$370 for a couch/loveseat set & $400-$500 for a 3 piece sectional. The most I'll pay is $100 if there's no other couches for sale
i'm not so sure i would be able to get so much money for those couches in my city. location is one of the many factors that has to be considered. obviously these guys know what they are doing, awesome video

The problem that I ran into is the city I’m currently at, everyone already has access to the Distro where I get the couches from. I been thinking about buying them and move the couches to another location. Even the near by cities have multiple Distros. My sister is in Dallas, I have a friend in Houston as well.
What is the distro? I don't think it would be a problem selling them in corpus. The only question is for how much? I've sold a few couches. It is profitable, but it does require manpower, vehicles, equipment. Most people don't have the means to move a bug heavy couch. A lot of furniture has to be delivered

I’m in a contract on an under construction condo building and they said we couldn’t sell our contracts at the time. Now they’re letting anybody flip their contract. If I would have known that I would have went into contract with a dozen units instead of 1. People are clearing 35k just flipping their contract

Umm question. How long should it take to sell 1 couch or sectional approximately? Should it be priced to sell within a 7 day period or priced to sell within a 30 day period?
If I could get a flipper/retailer to cash me out for 30-40 couches a month It may be worth it for me to get in the business and supply everyone new couches.
Man, different markets are crazy. In San Jose CA, those couches would not sell for anything remotely close to that price, probably due to saturation in the markets and people driving down prices.

When you're starting out, how do you move couches when you first get them? Do you have a friend or family member come along or hire someone? And how do you transport them? With a Uhaul or other truck?
I did it by myself for a while, using my dad's truck when he's off work. The owners will help you load it on your truck if you ask, and sometimes they're nice enough that you don't even need to ask. Or else if you're going solo, just load one side at a time. For unloading, just ask the buyer to help if you're a one man army. Don't hire lazy family. Invest in some forearm forklift straps (it'll make your life easier) and ratchet straps. Friends who wants to hustle, but has no hustle will help you for free for the experience and you can pay them after it sells if you want.

As an avid Craigs List, ebay, facebook market place, & resale shopper of many years; I am having a hard time believing these guys are getting the kind of prices for couches that they claim.
Yah’ perhaps it’s all location but in my town of 40k u either find shit ripped up shit or needle n the haystack and then realist it and it won’t sell or everyone and their mother will say u just bought it for $50 now you’re asking 1000 etc messing up your post idk I’m skeptical myself in really think it’s area dependent

Wondering if I could get some advice or opinions from some other flippers. So I have recently gotten into flipping couches and I’m finding it way more difficult than all of the videos and redditers in the game. My theory is this. I live in one of the biggest and most densely populated cities in America. There is no shortage of couches to be found on marketplace. In fact it’s overwhelming. So I can find good stock pretty cheap and easy but selling it is the problem. I think that for one there are just too many freaking listings on our marketplace. It’s hard to find anything specific unless you are willing to sit forever scrolling through and trying different filters. The 2nd is that with so many being given away for free or pennies on the dollar I feel like people just aren’t willing to pay much with so many options. Any thoughts on this?
See, he says this is a great business model "nation wide". The thing about that, is it isn't true. They are in a GREAT market with plenty of inventory to get low and sell high and that's key. Yes, they clean the couches up, but 90% of towns (I'm Colorado springs based and there is VERY LITTLE available here) have trash that's largely unsalvageable or repairable on FaceBook marketplace or wherever their sourcing. It's great content for dreamers, but it's pretty unattainable for most people in the country.

And you can branch off.. start a moving company, all those customers will need help moving one day. Yes its a side hustle but it makes more than peoples main source of income
@@taliyy_ you forget , with such low overhead , uncle sam will take a huge cut off their revenues , although they are a bit more fortunate to be in Nevada . but yes , you can always branch off like these guys are doing with Turo . their location is good for these two side hustles , and that is a key . If you are in a area that gives away a lot of free stuff comparable to the items you are flipping , it will be harder to move .

The recliners come apart. The bottom has rails with 5/16 bolts. You take them off and either seat is a piece. Way easier to move

Majority of the couches I get are brand new still in packaging sometimes the boxes have scuffs on em.
