Lol I was a mover for 9 years. Get a 4 wheel dolly. You can put it on wheels and no ground floor assistance required. Get a pad too for tough doorways. Then you can throw it on its side and spin them through tough doorways when necessary. Great videos.
I use to do this about 5years ago when I started homestaging . I would go pickup IKEA sofas for free and then buy new slipcovers from ikea for $80 Then sell the sofas for $450. Too busy with staging now. It was so exciting

I’m a mom of 6 kids and I started flipping couches last summer and it was great! Just saw a need in our area for furniture delivery. Picked up free furniture in every area I happened to be going to by searching Facebook marketplace wherever I happened to be going and would come back to my area and advertise along with delivery. I was super busy while I actively did it. My husband and son would deliver for me and I did the communication and sale.

Another storage room for cleaning and getting ready(not needed if you can do it at home) Last storage room just to store the ones in stock when people aren’t buying!

Thought of this... I'm not a couch flipper btw. Don't pay your helper half! Pay them $10-$15 an hour. Watching Ryan drag those cheap couches across the pavement made me cringe a little. You don't even need your helper to drive with you, the buyer can help move the couch too.

When I relisted it I ended up making $250 on the resale of it and that was my beginning of Couch flipping, lol. I didn’t know it was a real business that people were doing but I started picking up free furniture and couches that were cheap and bringing them back to our area where there’s a great need for furniture delivery and my husband and son would Deliver the couches while I made the sales! So many happy customers! And I was making hundreds of dollars!
Yes, you can definitely lift this yourself. However, having another person might give you a bit more longevity :). Once your sales start picking up, it makes sense to add a person for efficiency. More time to grow the business as well.

Get platform dollys. It makes moving easier and you do not have to drag the couches on their foots, usually they are wood or plastic, they can easily mess up the color, chip a piece off or totally break off .

Okay does this work best with bigger cities. I remember trying to sell my couch and having to give it away. I never had luck selling used furniture. You guys rock. I use to sell used books on Amazon that I bought at yard sales and thrift stores back in the day and make good money until the 2008 crash. Currently trying to get into real estate flipping. We bought a house for 9k outside of Gainesville Fl and did a complete rehab now worth 120k. My husband and I did all the work. I also am looking for airbnb vacation real estate.

I'm not apart of the couch flipping community. However, could a U-Haul type van be more efficient in the long term? You can pick up and store multiple couches, simultaneously. Also, it's readily available to take simple photos and steam clean/sanitize the couches.
There is actually a light bulb with a side piece that converts with a side outlet that you can connect this to and you have an outlet. It’s cheap you can buy it any Home Depot stores $4!! By the way Ryan love your videos man just started following great personality you got keep going!!!

My friend and I sold 47 couches and made $8,500 profit in our first month of couch flipping all part time as we work a normal full time jobs. So $8k is totally doable if you do it right. I could easily make more if we did this full time. We just use a 2 car garage so no monthly storage unit expense.
How do you know if the couch you're getting had or has bedbugs? There area a lot of shady people out here who just want to get rid of their stuff....for sale or free. In Vancouver, BC, bedbugs are a huge problem. Also what kind of cleaners and machines are you using? Steam cleaners? Great video, thanks.
Space and lighting would make a huge difference in the presentation, even in a storage unit. It would also probably be worth paying a slight premium for a nice storage location with ease of logistics in mind.
I'm not a CCFE, certified couch flip expert, but you all need storage rooms wider than 10 feed if you doing sectionals. No living rooms are as small as 10 feet.
The young man who took your advice here seems to be doing great. He is hustling quite well. I think Ryan was cocky in offering advice that was not really necessary for him. Perhaps good advice for newbies.
This is working really well for now because there is shortage of couches nationwide due to covid. Most stores have 8 week lead times. This won't last for long so also something to keep in mind before everyone here quits their day job.

If living in a cold climate, I would recommend putting down glue traps. I had a couch in a garage and mice tore it apart from the inside. I couldn’t in good conscience sell it.

There are light socket adapters at lowes you can get to have electrical plugs. My band uses them to power all of our gear.

A 15 foot box truck such as U Haul has as Ford Econoline 450s is ideal for this business, but more storage would still be needed.

I could easily make more if we did this full time. We just use a 2 car garage so no monthly storage unit expense.
How do you know if the couch you're getting had or has bedbugs? There area a lot of shady people out here who just want to get rid of their stuff....for sale or free. In Vancouver, BC, bedbugs are a huge problem. Also what kind of cleaners and machines are you using? Steam cleaners? Great video, thanks.

Space and lighting would make a huge difference in the presentation, even in a storage unit. It would also probably be worth paying a slight premium for a nice storage location with ease of logistics in mind.
I'm not a CCFE, certified couch flip expert, but you all need storage rooms wider than 10 feed if you doing sectionals. No living rooms are as small as 10 feet.

This is working really well for now because there is shortage of couches nationwide due to covid. Most stores have 8 week lead times. This won't last for long so also something to keep in mind before everyone here quits their day job.

Go to home depot and buy a screw in socket that will also hold a light bulb. They're common.

If living in a cold climate, I would recommend putting down glue traps. I had a couch in a garage and mice tore it apart from the inside. I couldn’t in good conscience sell it.
