4/2024....I was so lucky to have heard/seen Clifton perform in my home town,.....Columbus Ohio in the early 1980s, and then his son (CJ) took over and continued to get booked at our annual Jazz and Rib Festival. I'm 70 presently. I was a young buck,...in the 1980s. I am into all kinds of Blues music,....mostly Harmonica Blues music.

In the early 80s I went to see Bonnie Raitt at the Northrup auditorium at the U of Minnesota. She played a great set, but I thought it was a little short. I talked my music partner into going to the Union Bar in Mpls to see Clifton Chenier We got beers and joined the crowd. I then realized I was standing behind Bonnie Raitt. I leaned in and said "I thought you played a great set tonight, but it was a little short". She just turned toward the stage and motioned with both her arms spread wide. It was great night of music!
