I think Odyseus has joined the ranks of creatures that Poseidon NEVER wants anything to do with again. So in a way he's become just like Scylla and Charybdis
I did not know he posted snippets on TikTok. When it came to watching the animation from the live stream I saw people post the get in the water like 9 months ago. IM LIKE HUHH
The silence with where we know "make it back alive to our homeland" should be is perfect. As that part was always sung by the crew but they all died because of his choices so instead just silence.
The best part about that silence is it actually foreshadows Odysseus’ spark of Divinity in Six Hundred Strike by emphasizing that he DOESN’T have anyone left to sing for him before, then he does in Six Hundred Strike.
Well, not his choices alone, the crew did enough bullshit themself xD If the captain says to not open the bag, you don't undermine his authority by doing it behind his back
Seriously, can we talk about the vocal performances of Jorge and Steven at the end of 600 strike! Every line is dripping with pain and anguish (obviously for two different reasons). I can't even put into words, the energy that was coursing through me when I was listening to that!
What I love about this (which is many things) but I love the parallel : Poseidon turned ody into a monster ( ruthlessness is mercy) and in that final scene ody turn poseidon into a hypocrite (cuz now you want some mercy) lol they both turned each other into something they hated on principle!
Poseidon was so concerned about his reputation he jumped Ody and proceeded to get his ass beat by a regular magicless human. Good luck recovering your reputation from THAT.
A question was posed to Reddit some months back about where one would drop a swear word in Epic, if you had to pick a moment. “Next to my wife… Bitch” is looking really tempting
Personally, I feel like it would ruin it the simple honest response is what made it so powerful adding bitch to it would make it feel like he was only saying it to insult Poseidon
I have a theory, every time Odysseus's eyes goes red it's Ares giving his a little push as he is the god of violence slaughter and violence it would make sense he'd help a violent and driven man like Odysseus
Nice theory, personally I think it’s Odysseus’ own divine blood sparking (He’s a descendant of Hermes) one of the animatics of Done For also had his eye flash red when he conjured the Cyclops.
@@SunLovinSolaireyea same but it’s also ares quick thought jay explained it in one of his videos it’s cool to see that Ares and Athena helped the same person
Considering that Athena is currently KO, i like the idea of Ares taking over her duty to watch, she earned his respect in God Games by taking on Zeus himself. He doesnt do it openly, just a gentle push into the right direction.
I think i heard the Ares melody from his verse of god games in 600 hundred strike. If so maybe Ares stepped in against Poseidon as a favor to his sister's sacrifice(both being war gods) or having seen Odysseus decide not to run, but to fight Poseidon even though he is divine. The anger and power intensifying seems to fit Ares and his blessing.
You did not expect this and now after watching you may have realized the Vengeance saga is vengeance for Odysseus not Poseidon. Also damn Me and you bath vibing uncontrollably i was laughing so hard from 1:43 especially 2:05 to 2:10 hell yeah
TBF, he'd been listening to his kidnapper damn to be loved for 7 years at this point. Most of her rant was probably like background static to him, and it's a testament to how good a person he is that he even respond as much as he did to try and give her some comfort. Or a sign of mild Stockholm syndrome, I still can't tell.
Excluding Hermes, he has always been a bro. Athena dumping Odysseus was also so cold and uncaring, she did not even tell him that the Cyclops is the son of Poseidon, Oddy would've thought twice to reveal his name if he knew that, but her interference just pushed him over the egde.
I find it fitting that Poseidon is the one that made Ody fully embrace the monster.. sure all the gods and immortals had little hand in it.. Zeus might have pushed the first rock of the edge in the horse and the infant.. but Poseidon the father of monsters is the one that fully made and taught Odysseus how to become the beast he had been holding back and repressing. even Athena had a part in making him the monster he is now in someways by allowing Ares to know what would happen if her former pupil was returned home.
Foram tantos sentimentos assistindo essas músicas. We started with a sad vibe with Not Sorry For Loving You, then into a dance vibe with Dangerous and from there on it was just... Wow! Maybe I missed something, because I don't know how Ody managed to match power with a god BUT DAMN IT WAS SO FUCKING COOL!! And that ending, Jesus... Imagine what Odysseus/King will be like.
I cant believe it ended like that, going through 600 Strike and then the livestream was just over and i needed to process 😭😭😂 I need every breakdown of that one because like. The way Poseidon reacts I cannot
Nobody I’ve seen reacting to this has said anything so I gotta say it or I’ll feel crazy Is the water shaped like Poseidon smiling in the beginning of get in the water or am I trippin? Bc that is SO AWESOME
I like to think the only reason Poseidon didn’t kill Odysseus is because he was ruthless if Odysseus held back Poseidon would of killed him for holding back
Yeah, I am clinging to theories that maaaaaybe Ares helped him out there at the end, as some homage to losing to Athena and wanting to see blood? But I do kinda hate how this plays out, even assuming that the storm jetpack somehow allowed him to gain the upper hand, Odysseus being able to torture God of the SEA during FUCKING STORM is very ridiculous. It's a cool moment and it sounds really nice but the sheer fact that it shouldn't be possible at all really breaks my immersion there
While I don’t have a full explanation for the most of it, I think it’d make sense to be able to cause serious pain to a god with their own weapons. Even if you don’t think Athena died and was just seriously injured, it was still by Zeus’ hand/his bolts. If gods can take out other gods, it’d make sense that if a mortal were to get their hands on a god’s weapon they could at least do serious damage. With that in mind though I can see how the first half of 600 strike wouldn’t make a ton of sense unless he got help from Ares like the other commenter suggested. (I still like the whole thing because I’m a sucker for storytelling and ‘little guy gets the one-up against the big bad’ tropes but to each their own obvs)
Me personally, I really thought Hermes was gonna slip some Moly in the wind bag just in case the worst happened, cause that's literally the only way Odysseus was ever on a god's level, and that's just with Circe, a minor god. Like, maybe the bag would've slipped open as he falls into the water, then dude comes back up with a conjured version of his entire fleet and a bitten piece of Moly in his hand, overwhelming Poseidon with coordinated numbers backed up by the storm pushing their sails faster
I absolutely LOVE the few seconds of silence where the crew WOULD sing their ensamble part in “Dangerous”, but instead we just get this hollow silence. Fantastic 🤌
