This 16x (8km) map is loosely based on the farms near Bad Axe Michigan. The area has been altered slightly to make room for more sell points and better forestry. There are custom versions of all the base game production factories that have higher speeds and increased storage capacities plus a fertilizer factory and a forage mixing plant. The turbines on the map are purchased when you buy the farmland they are on and they will generate hourly income after they are purchased. There are 215 fields ranging from small to very large.

I wish people would stop making flat, empty maps. Thats all this is. Its just going to get boring because youll just be waiting for the AI to finish a field, and its too big to just do it all yourself. You can boast 16x size all day, but if you're not going to USE the space for something, then just dont make the mod. Large, rolling hills, a forest in the middle corner sprawling through the center that you drive through.
DO SOMETHING with the map. Not just make a bunch of humongous fields.
Most of Huron County in real life is mostly flat but it is also one of the most agriculturally productive counties in Michigan.
It’s massive, definitely going to get this map would make an ideal multiplayer map.

My kind of map. Flat with big rectangular fields that AI can work! It also has plenty of production built in with lots of sales points for all products. Yay! I found my map. If the sound issue is corrected it would be perfect for me.
My great grandpa farmed in pigeon Michigan which is 15 minutes south roughly of bad axe Michigan So it’s pretty cool to me that’s what we came up with this map so close to where my family used to farm
I live around the area, and I love how the map is based on the land out here. It's so interesting and awesome with bad axe and everything so I may need a PC just so I can play this map of my home town and land

A map like this has me interested in picking up 22 now. I have been waiting for things to smooth out and for mods to catch up with the new release. This map looks awesome. Very encouraging overall.

Love the map and I wish there was more flat maps like this one. Sadly there's no traffic or peds walking around.
Looking at Google Maps, this area is relatively flat to begin with. That is what made this area optimal for farming. I think I will wait for the update to remove the LUA errors and audio issues. I think with a map like this, I would try a Contractor business and go into owning production from there.
Going back to your point about the link not updating to the most recent version, there's a version 1.1.0.1 that was uploaded an hour ago. It fixes the LUA errors for the windmills and fixes the wind sound stuttering issue you were getting.
What mod shows you the acre's when selecting farm plots?
I love x16 maps, but I don't like how the edge of the map is just a drop off, I prefer it when modders put impossible to climb mountains, it breaks up the skyline much better, and it doesn't give the flat earthers a reason to live lol.
Yeah it’s why I have trouble playing most maps. Deer Creek is the best one I’ve found so far with map edges but it’s only got 10 fields most are huge. Wyoming is really nice until you get up to it then it has huge white walls idk why they did that
I think this is an awesome map! I like things that push the envelope. This would be the one I would choose for multi-player. But...it does seem buggy? The audio thing and the wind turbine problems. I wonder if it is just sucking the hell out of resources? I wonder how many mods this map could sustain with multiple players?
Could the wind noise be caused by the windmills, like if you remove them will the audio go back to normal??
The map looks excellent but that noise loop is a dealbreaker. That would drive me insane! It’s one of those things that once you hear it you can’t unhear it 🙁 otherwise I would definitely give this map a go 👍
If my system will operate it, this map is spectacular!
Klein @28:20 you can see the windmills stuttering as they rotate and in time to the audio stuttering - either those LUA errors are making a bigger difference than you think, or you have hard drive / SSD bottlenecking
The lua errors are not repeating but who knows personally if I where to play this map I would rip the windmills out in a heartbeat because of the lua errors on map load up.

Interesting map. I really wish that on 16x maps, there was at least 1 town, maybe 2. Just seems a little bit crazy that everything is so spread out. The map seems a little lifeless unfortunately.
That’s how it is in real life though. They even modified it to add MORE sell points.
@@BC_Geoff Yeah but this isnt real life. In real life, yoire driving, not just fiddling with a controler. Its a video game. And its gonna get really boring, really fast when youre not seeing anything.

Hi, Does anyone know why crops take about 4 or 5 years to grow since I have 1 day per month on, in the original maps of the game the growth is much faster, is there a way to modify that?
It seems to me from the video that along with the choppy audio there seems to be lag and frame rate issues as well... Is this the case?
Didnt seem that way but the lua errors from the windmills and choppy sound has been fixed in the latest update which is linked in the description.
Well it wouldn't be right without the windmills. As a huron county resident myself, they're just normal now (good thing they don't slow my daily life from landing up in the morning) lol

Like the look of the map. I like large maps but being new to the game experience I’ve never played on one yet. I’ll give this one a try. So to get rid of those windmills you just sell them off? Or is there a way to delete them?
One thing I do like on a map is a train. The European maps look nice but I prefer the North American or Australian maps.
You would delete them from the items.xml savegame file or sell them but owning all the land there on is a bit unrealistic unless you cheat in money or use the buy all land command. when deleting them you must be careful to delete the whole entry and nothing more.
I might give it a try. I like large farms and I love the walk in farmhouse. But I have a feeling I won't be playing it for a very long time....Just one man's opinion.

Thanks Farmer Klein for this map review it's a big map almost to big for a solo game you never get everything harvested in time the air noise was annoying but it would be a challenge

As I mention in the video and I might have demonstrated I forget at this point you own the land then go into build mode and you can demolish/sell them. If your talking about the XML I think its the items.xml but its been a while since I have done the video.

This is a really good map
.I like it alot ...but i I'm getting a steady 60fps and yet driving around it has a consistent jerk almost like slight lag but I have good fps is anyone else experiencing this also?
I grew up in Huron county, and yes it is this flat, but I don't like how the author scattered the sell points across the map. Pigeon, and Elkton, are very small towns that could have been added fairly easily since each town is made up of nothing but some houses and sell points. They don't even have to be exact layouts for the towns, but would have made more sense than having the sell points in random locations. The lack of farms or houses is another issue. This map doesn't look like Huron Co. it looks like a map with a bunch of fields. IMO not enough attention to detail, more like a "Hey guys look what I can do, I made a map of the fields in my county using google earth.", because that is what it is.
This map is made for multiplayer being 16X, so there should be multiple farms that can be used as starter farms. I'll keep an eye on it to see if the author adds other farms or a town, but as of now having the sell points scattered like that just makes it annoying having to drive in every direction to get things done.
All very valid points other usable farms or at the very least just random houses.

good mapping a shame you cant move the main farm location. now i play this map. and at field 56 and 58 iff you by that you get a small forest. but iff you try and repaint it that pice all the grass show in the new texture. so iff you like to build a good and clean fance farm this not the map to do it. i did try that some other place over the map same issues. only at the main farm grass not show up. and alot off tree so you need to cut alot iff you like to plant other on the farm. but good work. just a shame i need to find another map.
My map started differently. Not enough money to buy any farm nor did I have any equipment available.
I love being able to enter my own house.
That is one of the bigger disappointments in 22 is the lack of houses that you can enter.

Will a map of this sinze have severe effects on performance?
I was playing all day yesterday and before and after the update and it runs as good as any other map on my PC. I’m only running a 5700 XT card.

If I linked to the trash site then I knew with very high authority that was indeed the legit place the author uploaded the map. Posting from legit locations that the author themselves uploaded to is something I hold very seriously and have done so for the 5 years of producing farm sim content.

This is a strange map, some weird things happening on it. 1st thing I noticed was the lime not working on fields, that got fixed with version 1.1.0.1, now I don't think the fertilisation is working as it should, great map but yh. anyone ells having this problem with the fertilisation ?.
Also experiencing problems. I can't sell cotton but probably because it is not baled.
Yeah, when i plant my fields i normally have a 50% fertilization bonus because of the fertelizer in my seeder, but when i plant my crops and i look at the field it says its 10 to 12 % fertilized, but then i look on my map screen under the section "soil composition" and it shows it as dark blue ( 100% fertilized ) my guess is its bugged, also when i go over the land with my seeder it draws dark thin lines as if the fertilizer is working but it isn't ..

The whole area is farmland.
What would cause consistent lag every 3-5 seconds. Like 60FPS, then a lag spike, 60FPS, lag spike..
Rented a server, bad performance.

I actually prefer the lack of a map border. Why waste the resources? But even in flight mode, I think this looks better, you can imagine it is just fogged in rather than seeing the crappy theater-set looking painted hills or whatever. Once again, just a personal opinion.
All that wind noise is because the map is flat as a pancake lol.
The pausing of the windnoise at regular intervals is what I was referring to vs the noise itself. You can also hear it in the mahindra with the pausing of the engine.

At the very beginning of the vis you state that it pains you that the map is available on the modhub US server. Why does this pain you or whatever?????? you were one of my go too's for map review but unless you give a reasonable explanation, I will consider you Farter DECLIENE and decline to watch any furthers vids from you!!
modhub.us is a site whos only reason to exist is to steal mods rehost them on their own servers for which they then earn ad revenue off of as a result. If I acutally linked to that site its due to the fact that I know the real author uploaded their map to that site as a legit means of publishing but the % of mods that are there by legit means is in the low single digits. Everything released on every other site is hosted here. They have bots whos sole purpose is to scrub other sites download mods, copy descriptions and titles and repost here. Giants pays mod authors per unique download for mods hosted on the offical Giants mod hub. There is no reason anyone would ever put their mod on the giants mod hub and then also place it here on purpose as any and all downloads from this site would take potental earnings away from the Giants modhub. Do what you want but I have established a long history going back 6 years of standing up for mod authors and respecting their works by doing my very best to only link to their orginal download locations and as such the idea of sending people to such a junk website to download a map is difficult but at the same point it must be done if it is indeed the legit place the map author put it for release.
My issue is its just another flat map. if youre gonna boast 16 time size, then dont make it boring. add in a massive mountain range. To do the map like this is just the dumbest thing you can possibly do. Just flat, empty nothingness. Absolutely nobody will play this.

Windmills are not removed in items.xml, they are in placeables.xml lines 126-195

Ah ok. They are in items.xml in the map zip which is where i ripped them out when vaidating the lua removal I didnt look in the save game for if the file name was different.

@@FarmerKlein Ok ty, think iv done it unzipped the map deleted the folder that had the turbines, and I also deleted them from the item.xml file, so no more windmills lol, still get loads of yellow warnings though couldn't tell you what they are they flash past too quick ?
@@granvillewright4115 All you needed to do was delete the turbine entries in the items.xml in the map before starting a game save. nothing else then when you start a save they wont be there. be sure to just delete the turbine entries and be sure to pull the whole entry there numbered from like 1-70.
