#45 Husqvarna Brushcutter 525RX Clearing Around Apple Tree In Maine Woods

- I found an old apple tree hidden in the brush. Not much of an apple tree, but good for the wild life. This is my effort using the Husqvarna 525RX brushcutter to clear around the apple tree and perhaps it will do better next year.
Thanks from saukville Wisconsin. Great video!
Thanks. Very helpful. I can see there's a technique to cutting through small trees. Quick plunge for the smaller diameters and gently through the larger diameters to maintain the blade speed. You look as if you've got it right. I just bought one for cutting mostly long grass around the edges of my field so what is also interesting to me is which cutter to use for long grass, ferns and the odd bramble bush.
With the weed whacker string this is an awesome machine....
Good watch! I just bought one of these yesterday and after this video I can’t wait to start learning
Great Video. More! More! More!
Wow, looks pretty enough power as for this tiny trimmer. I thought it's not enough. Good luck
It does a nice job, very happy with it....
Hi, what do you think of the device, how does it hold up to daily use?
I swap between the saw blade and weed whacker and it has performed flawlessly. All I've needed to do so far is good gas and oil mixture...
Did you you adjust the speed to go faster in any way? Or is that still factory speed???
Looks like fun
It was, however it was my first experience with a hand held brush cutter. But it was easy to learn and was fun. The string trimmer was a beast too. All in all I wish I'd gotten one of these a long time ago. Smilz Thanks for watching.
@@udgrin2 @ thank you for this review sir. I am going to trim my field grass using string trimmer I suppose so would you recommend Husqvarna 525 rx as enough powered trimmer to do this?
PS: can you specify any details regarding power such as horse power or KW and can you tell if 525rx comes in PRO Series only?
@@sppecials606 I'll get the info and get back to you soon
@@sppecials606 This is actually a brush cutter, but does have a string attachment. I got to tell you, this will cut some heavy stuff and surprised me. Obviously when you get up to 3/16 twigs and bigger, you might want to swap to a grass blade. Bigger then that you'd need the saw blade. This is advertised as 1.34 horsepower. Not sure about the series, but you could look at the 129R that has some similar options.
@@udgrin2 @ I see ok thank you very much!
Are you supposed to 'karate chop' it against brush like that?
Did the harness that comes with it?
I'm 68 and get backaches when chainsawing. Wondering if the Brushcutter/with harness is more physical then a chainsaw?
Yeah, that's the way to do it. And it comes with the harness.
What the model number of the blade? Great video!
I'll get you the blade name and number at the next use
Just wondering how much you have used the 10" blade. Picked up a new 525RX today at a "Huskie" dealer and the service guy cautioned against using 10" blades as they shorten the life of the shaft. I'm a little gun shy although your blade appears lighter (with all the holes) than the solid blade from my old machine. Hmmmm...
I usually use it once a year to keep brush trimmed back on 800 ft driveway. Also use weed eater attachment 6-12 times year for smaller stuff. Works good, haven't had any issues.
I use renegade razor blade
I just picked up one of these the other day. Is it normal to have a lot of vibration when using the blade?
Hey I’m running into this same thing, I thought it was defective and swapped it at Lowe’s but the new ones almost worse… it’s like it’s sputtering or misfiring and causes the whole thing to shake, is that the same thing you’re talking about? Did you ever find a fix or did it stop doing it or what? I’m not sure if I should just return it and go with something else.
Is it still running strong??
I'll get the blade model when it stops raining. Smilz. It is still running strong, I love it. The only speed adjustment is pulling the trigger to make it goes faster. It also works well when using the weed whacker head...
I want the price of the product in India I want to purchase this product the cost of the product
I gave around $375 us
Your machine is a little underpowered for this kind of work, I use the Husky 535LK pro combi, it has numerous attachments and more power. 2.2hp v your 1.3hp. Bit pricey but does countless jobs. Worth a look!!
nice video but.... u should learn basic technics to work safe and effective. u are close to brake reductor
You're just jamming the blade into the brush. You gotta give it time to ACTUALLY CUT
Nope, he's doing it correct. Rev it up and hit it hard. This way it cuts fast (doesn't heat the blade) and you can control which way the bushes fall so it's easier to carry out. The last big ones are too heavy for the 525 to go through so then you want to give it time.
The 525RX is a great tool for occasional brush cutting - it's light weight, low vibration and quite fuel efficient. If you would need to do work on bigger bushes on daily basis you might look for something stronger but then again if you don't need the power most of the time, the extra weight and vibration will cause more fatigue to the operator.

Why not using a machete for those trees?
Machetes are fine for stuff knee height or higher but less so for saplings and brush around your ankles
