Hopefully not, Hush as a villain is so dumb but the rest of the run was really great. If they decide to include parts of hush, they should definitely rewrite his character.
You and Omar make a GREAT review tag team. I consider Omar the mega fan who wont say anythingn negative about what he is reviewing and you being the everyman reviewer who gives his opinion on the story.
I never understand comments like these. So many comic youtubers only talk about the negatives of comics. So many are weird incel, neckbeard comicgate ones who wail about how comics are so "woke" as if they haven't been for 40 years. So what if Omar is positive and optimistic about things he reads. That's far better than being a doomer like all the others. And who says he doesn't point out the negatives. In his video about this very omnibus he literally says that the hush sequels aren't as good as the original. Omar isn't reviewing comics on his channel he's doing overview of omnibuses that companies send him.
@@edgysnarfbrownie5778 Omar isn't trying to recommend you anything. He's just doing overviews of omnibuses that companies send him. He's not a reviewer. He's an unboxer basically. Also Omar is very well read. He's actually able to see the positives in bad stories. He's optimistic about comics. At least he's not a comicsgate grifter railing about the fake culture war like alot of comic youtubers.
@@akkakkakekkn He says stuff about the story that he likes and dislikes, tell me again how that isn’t a review. Also if someone is hyping up a story as one of the best ones they’ve ever read but they don’t tell you that it only gets good after you’ve read like a third of it than that’s on him. JSA for example. He said that was one of the best stories for new readers and it was in like top 5 if I remember correctly. Imo it was super disjointed and most of the characters barely got any development or characterization. I’ve heard from a lot of people that it really picks up in omnibus vol2, but I wouldn’t have even gotten it if I had known that going in. Also he barely touches on the bad aspects of any stories so even though he mentions one bad thing in passing, for someone like me who’s looking for recommendations I could get a completely wrong impression of what the story is about.
Hey Gem!! Love the content. I just want to make a recommendation for one of the greatest piece's of literature I have ever read and I recommend checking it out. The comic is called CROSSED : its done through Avatar Comics. It's basically a binge worthy post apocolyptic violoent comic meets mad cow with the darkest of thoughts. I own the complete hardcovers for it. Honestly I even enjoyed it more than berserk. Thxs for the content.
After seeing this hush review....DC should do omnis featuring a batman villian! Not many people can even remember their first appearances. A full blown Joker...Riddler...Bane omni would be awesome to have!
Hush is for me the best and more dangerous villain of Batman He broke 3 times Batman morale (the joker goal that never succeed, even batman try to kill hush 2 times) He have feats in level of joker (Jason Todd, Barbara Gordon) with Hush (Catwoman, Alfred) even the rivalry is at the level of the joker The character is so complex and interesting that people believe his motivation is money... And his motivation is one of the greatest that a villain had A character who from birth has nothing good and bites life until he defeats batman and joker Its a shame that didnt write more with Hush
Gorgeous Omnibus of Batman Hush! Yeah, it's been hushed down for some reason! Needs that trade paperback cover 🎉 pop!! Yeah, the beginning panels I know it! Even the non-spoilery I was covering my ears! See you!! Edit: Make it 3 minutes for those who want to know nothing 🤫 as in Hush but with an "S" in front! Yes? Wait, Clark Kent?? 😮
I may sound shallow but Jim Lee’s art kept me reading the main first story. Looking at the wiki there were apparently sequels like Hush Returns, etc. The premise and main villain felt lackluster. Batman and Catwoman were the only main highlight along with the art. The ending and villain felt like a tela novella with all the fakeouts. Riddler had a nice ending dialogue. Wished the heroes in the cover had more roles to play rather than cameos.
Has anyone read the Gotham By Gaslight story? Is it collected in TPB or Omni? Just curious as I haven’t read much Batman in the last decade and want to jump back in, looking for something a little different than the regular Batman/rogues gallery stuff. Thanks to all!
@@GemMintCollectiblesWatch the animated movie instead. In my opinion, the source material is alright, but the animated adaptation builds upon the foundation and surpasses the original story by a country mile. Have you thought about reviewing animated DC and Marvel movies that you haven’t yet seen on the channel? Or maybe making a video of you ranking the animated movies similar to how you made the MCU one for Phase 1? Just an idea or two for comic book content I’d like to see and perhaps others too.
Always thought Loeb was too direct with his writing for a big mystery story arch like in hush. I feel like everyone knew what was coming the entire story. Don’t get me wrong I like a lot of his work. I always recommend his work for new readers but for those who read a lot of comics I just feel like he’s too predictable.
Ill get this once its priced $50 on ebay. What i would like is a hardcover Hugo Strange collection! Hes been missing in action in the modern day comics and remember him in the Playstation game. He knew Bruce Wayne was Batman!
Hopefully we see Hush in live action soon.
Hush would make a Great villian in the movies....along with Hugo Strange. Joker and everyone else has been done to death.

Fr Omar has lowkey given me some bad recommendations due to how he never talks about the bad aspects of some stories.

I cannot wait to see Hush in live action.
He’s going to be in the Batman 2

Wow, I only read HUSH too. Didn't know there was THIS MUCH follow up to it.
Awesome video Gem. I have missed these omnibus overviews, keep them coming!

GREAT review and insights of this book! Thanks!!!

That thumbnail 🤫😂
Good overview Gem👍
I would've collected this if I didn't already have Paul dini's Omni and the hush deluxe edition. Great pick up though
Yup,same here.

Yes, it's in tpb. Batman one offs and elseworlds stories are what you're looking for.

I have a question The entire book is about the same story or different stories?
This is yet another storyline I never read and would like to get through at some point

Dc forced him to do it. Hush was supposed to be Jason Todd originally I believe
Does this comic take place before or after 2011 Flashpoint/New 52?
before
Chulisimo 👏👏

I would definitely love to have some modern-day Hugo Strange, when I think about Hugo Strange I think about how great he was in Arkham City
$80 on Amazon rn🤔
I must have missed the sale cause I see $96.90 on amazon. Oh well I guess I'll get it on IST.
Good luck having it arrive without damage from amazon though.
hell yeah 🔥
Hush would have been better if DC had let Jeph Loeb keep the ending he actually wanted.
What was the original ending??
Big boy gem👁️👍
hello
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
not sure if you have but try out the Tokyo ghoul manga
I haven’t
👍
It just seems like a 150 dollar cash grab for DC. The orginal run is fun, not a fan of sequels.
Agreed. Loved the main Hush storyline, never read any of the sequels.
Never pay full cover… unless you missed it while in stock and have to have it
I’m only now reading Hush (I know) great read so far, has a noire thriller feel to it.
I absolutely hate the 608-619 run. It was basically just a way to get Jim Lee to draw the Batman universe, and it’s obvious 612 when Krypto shows up.
