    My career began in a Defense activity's classified mail room. I handled classified material throughout my career as a Defense systems developer. Here's something that jumped out of the indictment that I haven't seen any other analyst comment on. The first 31 counts/charges each correspond to a specific document that Trump allegedly illegally retained. Thirteen of those documents have a classification that includes the modifier "ORCON". ORCON means two things:
    1. The document is the product of a foreign country's intelligence community, and
    2. The originating country retains classification authority for that document.
    The ORCON modifier will thwart the Trump defense that he somehow automagically declassified the documents before he left office, or that he declassified them psychically. The ORCON classification modifier means no one in the US government, including Trump, had the ability to declassify those documents.
    And here's my prediction: Trump's defense team will assert that he *did* declassify the documents somehow as he left the White House. The DOJ will counter that argument by asserting that Trump didn't have the authority to declassify nearly half the documents he's charged with taking: the ORCON-marked documents.

    • @maryballwashington4674
      @maryballwashington4674 Год назад +12

      The Espionage Act doesn't even mention classified vs declassified, that point is moot. It's the willful retention of documents related to defense and security of the country that are in question, not the classification markers. Read the indictment.

    • @andhisband
      @andhisband Год назад +11

      @@maryballwashington4674 That the charges don't mention classification is true. Obviously, I *did* read the indictment; perhaps you should re-read my statement. While the charges don't hinge on the classifications of the documents, the defense will try to side-track the issue by downplaying the classifications or claiming they didn't exist, thus minimizing the sensitive nature of the documents. That's what Trump and his lackeys have been doing publicly for months. I'd be willing to bet that DOJ included charges for the 13 OPCON documents precisely because they wanted to thwart that tactic.

    • @andhisband
      @andhisband Год назад +8

      @@elderlyandweak2056 The documents named in the indictment were sensitive national defense documents. The Espionage Act is written with that language because not all such documents are born with a classification, although they will eventually get one. I'm wondering if the press decided DT wasn't fit to be President due to his actions before he was elected. In 2015 I started gathering information on DT to make an informed decision on who to vote for. When I'd gathered quite a bit of reports of his reputation in business as a cheat,not paying those he'd hire and not honoring contracts,my choice became clear. It became common knowledge he'd run the same game when sued which was delay . That's very expensive, retaining counsel for months even years. Then I watched rallies. Belittling of a handicapped man was the last straw. He has no respect for anyone. He's totally transactional and as the good doc said,feels entitled and above the law. Helsinki really undid me.
    He may win again but not if everyone who sees with clear eyes what he is votes for an independent or democrat,at least until real conservatives are back leading their party. It seems the House is being run by children and we need two parties who are serious about running the government for us,not their doners or act as DT's defense attorney .

They call it the armpit of the country because of all the pollution since there is a lot of manufacturing there. I've watched doctor grande for many years but I always cringe when he talks about anything political because I get the distinct feeling he dislikes Democrats and is either a Republican, an independent or a libertarian. He talks about the liberal media but fails to talk about the right-wing media like Fox News, oan, and Newsmax which lie consistently. The reason why the media is highly critical of Donald Trump is because he has given us quite a lot to be critical about. He would probably dislike me as I am from New York and not out west 🤣 but we know Trump here. I actually have a childhood friend whose father worked for him, said it is true that he cheated contractors out of pay. It's quite handy to have attorney's to handle pesky little lawsuits like failure to pay a fee. Anyway, the whole 4 years of trump's horrific presidency from his deletion of an entire library on the government's website of scientific research to planning a violent coup steal an election has been a nightmare for many fair-minded conscientious folks. I think I may have some Trump PTSD 🤣 and trust me, I'm not the only one wake up thinking oh my gosh what is he going to do next?
