About us:
After meeting in New Zealand back in 2017, Beth and Jake have travelled the world, working online and creating memories.
Beth left the UK in 2014 and has been travelling full time ever since, she is the owner of www.sheisthelostgirl.com and has a passion for writing and photography.
Jake has been travelling since 2016 and during this time has perfected his photography and videography skills. He is adventurous and has a passion for the outdoors.
Having lived in various countries around the world, we decided that instead of settling down, we'd build a tiny home inside a van.
We've never done anything like this before, we have no building experience, no electrical experience, and no plumbing experience.
This is a huge learning curve for us and we welcome you to join us in this challenge.
Our Wild Horizons documents a journey of continued adventure.

Thank you.
Thanks to you too, for tuning in! 😊
Lovely walking tour around the New forest 😊 we haven't been to this part so it was great to see it through your eyes xx
You’ll have to make a visit out there. It was a beautiful place 🙂
Love the cinematic B Roll guys! One of my favourite places in the UK for sure :)
Thanks Will :) It was a lovely place to see!
Cool forest 👍👍👍👍
It’s a fantastic place! Definitely worth a visit 😊
Omg, I went to the New Forest years ago when Onyx was a pup and I couldn't remember anywhere I'd been so thank you for bringing back good memories of the Tall Tree Trail 🥰. Your park up spot makes me want to go back, thank you for the inspo and awesome vlog 🤗🥰
Thanks Nic! We were inspired by you to be more talkative on camera vlog style 😄 That was such a good walk, we’ll all have to go back!
@@OurWildHorizons aww guys haha thank you. That has made my day! Absolutely, it will be cute to get the same pic of Onyx a few years on 🥰
love to see you guys still living the dream a year later!!! 💜💜it makes me so sad when my fav van lifers quit 😭 love you guys hope you’re well
Thank you! No plans to quit it, just sometimes miss a weeks video instead of posting something uninteresting. Thank you so much!
Hope that you’re doing well too 😊
Thank you for letting us “travel” through your videos-absolutely amazing
Thank you for watching them Janet!
I love the new van color mixed in your natural surroundings!! I liked the little behind the scenes look at Jake filming, its nice to see what you actually do to get those stunning shots!! 🤣💜
Thank you! We're so happy with the colour now. Ha, it's my ninja walk to get the stable shots :) - Jake

Thank you Chezza! Trees are so amazing aren't they! If everyone got outside a bit more and into the countryside especially I think that the population would be so much happier and healthier for it.
Oh that tree is Oz sounds scary but incredible too! We used to love the big Kauri trees in New Zealand too, not sure if you've seen those but they're stunning. We'd love to go to America and see some of their ancient redwoods as well as they seem to be the biggest of them all!
@@OurWildHorizons ohh i'llcheck out the Kauri trees x
Another fab video guys, they're always soooo enjoyable to watch and smooth with that gimble walk 😂!! Completely agree with Jake on the deer head too! X
Thanks guys! Can’t believe you’ve finished your NP lap now!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the forest, I spent so much of my childhood there. 🌲 It always feels very nostalgic now when I visit as an adult. I love the mix of forest and heathland and, of course, the roaming animals. The footage towards the end of the animals was so relaxing and giving me Poldark vibes 🤣 x
We only explored a tiny area of it and it was amazing! Very happy to hear that you liked the animal clips, those were my favourite bits this week :) - Jake
I went to new forest quite a few years ago and remember seeing so many horses but we never went on these walks and now want to go back to do them!
Ah you’ve got to go back, the walks were wonderful!
I haven’t watched your travel videos in a while (because I’ve been preoccupied with van build videos)and they’ve always been amazing but your filmmaking was incredible in this! You can definitely see how you’ve grown in the past 6 months 🥰 also we are driving from Shropshire to Plymouth week after next and we’ve decided to pit stop in New Forest now to explore and have a picnic! Thanks guys! ❤️
Edit*
Just googled the New Forest location and it’s not where I thought it was 😂😂😂 so we are not pitstopping, but it’s on my list to visit soon!
Ahh maybe next time on a bigger trip!
Oh thank you so much Natalie :) Perhaps you can make a pit stop in the Wye Valley instead on that journey. Thanks for watching!
The best thing to do in the New Forest is live there!
Hi, with that now famous couple missing news, you should also do a video of how you cope living in a “van life” and advice on how not to end up “killing each other”. It this life for anyone et. . Thanks 👍😃
It’s really sad what happened with her, absolutely terrible. Thank you for the video idea, we’ll keep it in mind as it’s definitely a topic to discuss.
FREE ROAMING PLEPLUH 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I meandered around the New Forest in 1970, but haven`t managed to make it back there on any of my subsequent visits to England, the last in 2018 - must try to do something about that next time, which I hope will be around 2023. I remember finding the marker where William II supposedly snuffed it courtesy of an arrow in 1100, and I certainly remember the lovely free roaming horses. Very much a glorious, magical place! I imagine the the NZ trees you referred to Beth would be our ancient and gigantic Kauri trees, and congratulations on a commendably flamboyant and colourful taste in socks. (^_^) Rodger
Ah I hope you do make it for a visit in 2023, you'll be able to compare how much it's changed or not! So much history there, it was only a short trip this time but we'll return to explore more and find that marker too!
Oh those Kauri trees are magnificent, we used to go on some fantastic walks in the day and then return at night with our red lights trying to find some Kiwis but we never got lucky. Instead we always spotted the glow worms in the forests near the Kauris which was amazing all the same!

New forest
It’s a wonderful place!
Ah we didn't know you were in the New Forest.. we spent a few days there recently. We've explored it quite a lot and even walked across it in a day. Great vlog :)
Ah no way! We only spent the weekend there but we’ll see you soon anyway 😀 How long did walking across it take??!
@@OurWildHorizons not too long…. 4-5 hours maybe
Hi, we met you at the Stratford show last week so thought we'd take a look at your videos. There was another couple with you & you recommend her Etsy shop. Can you let me know what it's called please. I think it was Bo Ho....something?
Thanks for checking the videos out! I hope you’ve enjoyed a few of them. 😊 Ah you’re looking for @callumandtash and her shop is called Boho Decor
Great video. I live in the newforest. Just where did you guys stay overnight? 👍🏻
Thank you, beautiful place to live! We parked near Lyndhurst or Ashurst as I believe all the spots in the New Forest prohibit overnights?
I see the deer
Yay! I thought it was pretty cool!
Ah, I thought I saw you down in Milford yesterday. Recognised your faces, but not the new van!
Ah no way! You should have said hi. We roller painted the van but if you thought it was a new one that means we did a good job! 😁
How come you haven't posted any new videos in the past couple of weeks?! I hope you guys are okay!
Hi! Thank you so much for noticing ☺️😊
We’ve had to take a break so we could work (RUclips doesn’t bring in our wage unfortunately) 😁 So we’ve been working hard for couple of weeks :) we are also changing our posting day on RUclips, I think we’ll be now posting on Thursdays, so expect to see us soon 😁
Thank you for checking on us, hope you’ve had a lovely few weeks :)
@@OurWildHorizons Thanks, although I did see you guys on Callum & Tash's and Nic's most recent videos that they posted!
Free roaming plih plih 😂
It’s like you just gave up on the sentence 🤣
acorn trees ............. you mean acorn perenial plants
Nice information but too much focus on you two and was left wanting to see more, rather that looking at you talking about it
Thank you for the very helpful feedback! It’s much appreciated
