We Drove The UK’s Most ENCHANTING Road (New Forest)

- Join us as we escape to The New Forest National Park and take on a self-drive safari through one of England's most unique landscapes.
We begin our day at the village of Brockenhurst where we treat ourselves to delicious breakfast and spend some time watching the cars (and bikes) splash their way through the village's iconic ford before it's our turn to do just that as we start the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive - one of the New Forest's top things to do.
This drive sees us wind through endless moorlands and forests with stops a long the way to explore some of the most magical places on foot. Our first stop is Whitefield Moor, with its gentle rolling hills covered in purple heather as far as the eye can see. We also get our first glimpse of the free-roaming New Forest Ponies. We then make our way to Blackwater Arboretum to complete the tall trees trail where you can get up close to some of the UK's record breaking trees, including Sequoia and Redwood.
The second half of the drive sees us continue on to the Bolderwood Ornamental Drive beginning at the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary where we are greeted by more ponies before heading off in to the forest once more in the search of deer - and we are not disappointed! We end our day at Cadmans Pool, a well-known watering hole for the wildlife and we get to witness those famous New Forest Ponies taking a drink.
Is this the best drive in the UK? Well it certainly is one of the most enchanting!

Brockenhurst is on my doorstep. Lymington is a stunning town to visit too. It’s a privilege to live in such a beautiful place between sea and forest.

We love visiting The New Forest and never tire of the beauty of the forest and the animals. Peppa Pig World is close by and we came here with our daughter and grandson when he was about 3. He absolutely loved it. We stayed in a cottage in the Forest.😊

That little fence wasn't to keep the deer in, it was to keep you out. Those deer can easily jump a fence higher than your hat, even if you are six feet tall.

There was an old man who lived by a forest. As he grew older and older, he started losing his hair, until one day, on his deathbed, he was completely bald. That day, he called his children to a meeting...
He said, "Look at my hair. It used to be so magnificent, but it's completely gone now. My hair can't be saved. But look outside at the forest. It's such a lovely forest with so many trees, but sooner or later they'll all be cut down and this forest will look as bald as my hair."
"What I want you to do..." the man continued. "Is, every time a tree is cut down or dies, plant a new one in my memory. Tell your descendants to do the same. It shall be our family's duty to keep this forest strong."
So they did.
Each time the forest lost a tree, the children replanted one, and so did their children, and their children after them.
And for centuries, the forest remained as lush and pretty as it once was, all because of one man and his re-seeding heirline.
