It's been a long time since Kenji Hayami, the composer of Mi Mi Africa passed away. He taught me a lot about music. They sings "yukou taiyou no umareta kuni he" in Japanese meaning "Let's go to the country where the sun was born." Thanks for sharing. ^:^
Back in 1980 I paid £9 for this import album which was double the price of a UK release. But after hearing this in Cassinellis in North West England I just had to have it!
It's a great track, but from 5:10 onwards, it soars so, so high, it's absolutely scintillating. A jazz-funk classic, and one of my all time favourites.
It’s available on an old compilation CD - Classic Jazz-Funk 6 alongside other classics such as - Dave Grusin -Friends &Strangers, Pacific Jam - Pacific Jam, Hiroshima Fukumura - Hunt Up Wind.

Another Classic Jazz Tune, that filled the Dance floor of a Jazz Room in some long forgotten London Club in yesteryear.

I don't find this in Itunes and I don't have a vinyl player. How can I get my hand on a FLAC/APE version?

available on midnight in tokyo vol. 1 by studio mule
Absolute steal
is there a version without that annoying flute?
That “flute” is a harmonica.....and it’s pretty cool! Just ask Stevie Wonder - the master of harmonica....
