There was also a mass walkout by delegates after the Russians spoke.

@@inyobill So far, Russia only seems to have assassinated (or non-fatally poisoned) people from countries that it considers to be within its sphere of influence. Russia, Georgia, and Ukraine are the ones we know about.
Assassinating a Latvian politician would seem to be a major escalation that would incur a major retaliation from the West. It seems unlikely that Putin would be willing to take the risk that such an assassination could be traced back to Russia, especially for such a petty reason as that politician speaking out against Russia.
