  • The PCV valve or Positive Crankcase Ventilation System allows the passage of oil and gasoline vapors generated by the operation of the engine to the INTAKE MANIFOLD, in this way they are burned in the normal combustion of the engine.
If the PCV valve fails, one of the following 3 situations may occur.
    PCV Valve Failure No. 1
The PCV valve is partially plugged, causing DIFFICULTY STARTING THE ENGINE, LOW idle speeds.
    PCV valve FAILURE No. 2
The PCV becomes completely clogged, which causes more than the two conditions presented in fault No. 1 to present OIL IN THE AIR FILTER, ENGINE OIL LEAKS and SUDDEN engine shutdown.
    PCV valve FAILURE No. 3
If the hoses that connect to the PCV valve are leaking, either because they are broken, cracked or with loose or poorly tightened clamps, then the engine has HIGH RPM, DIFFICULTY STARTING and a sudden stop at IDLE.
