    For active methylene compound it will oxidize it to ketone, why not -OH?

    mam at 17:54 ..ch3 is allylic with respect to double bond in pyridine ring ..so ch2oh must be formed instead of cho ..mam please clear my confusion

      Ch3 is "active methylene group" there bcz the H in Ch3 is very acidic, That's why CHO is formed, not -CH2OH

    3.40 min me 2nd compound me CH3 also allylic with more substituted position .trans with respect to main ring. But ring ke andar keu hote he? Ring me oxidation hone pe to whh "Z" substituted ho gye.
