    The most important slider for solo game is resource stack size. When you don't have teammates to drag resources from raid back to base having 4 to 5 size stacks makes hauling loot much easier.

      Yes, this is important. I set mine to 2x and now need to go into the file and modify up to 5x, since 2x isn't enough. Inventory fills up very quickly.

      i like to reduce material yield number and crafting/refining cost to 0.5. it effectively does the same as increasing stack size, expect youre not working with such ridiculous numbers. i always thought some wolves and bears dropping 40-100 hide on default settings is way too much. also i like to increase resource power multiplier. i dont like hitting a tree 9 times to fell it, i think 4-5 is plenty enough. it doesnt increase the amounts of trees you need to fell for the same amount of resources, it just speeds up farming a bit and keeps the flow and pacing of the game a bit higher. it just feels less tedious when u dont have to stand there for 15 seconds in one spot cutting a tree.

    I play this exclusively solo & I'm really enjoying it. I actually missed the option for allowing Way Gates to transport resources (typical case of my not reading through the options properly). Instead, what I tried was increasing the number of Castle Hearts I could put down. Yes, it meant managing more bases & yes, bases built later were better equipped than those built earlier but I found that it worked quite well with the game's levelling/progression mechanic.

    For singleplayer experience I recomend disassembly modifier to 1 (you get back all construction materials), increase refinement time Is good too - game normály runs even you Are not here, but in self hosted server you have to wait for it. And maybe lower equipement durrability damage (not needed).
    Sad thing Is you Are without followers, because missions takes time in RL hours - longest Is 23h (whoch Is insane And you can't change it atm)

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 года назад +2

      Good point about the disassembly! Especially when you're going for your first run, i'm 99% sure you might end up wanting to move your base after a while ;)
      And yea, the follower system is a bit unfortunate when not playing online :(

    • @renanhilario
      @renanhilario 2 года назад +8

      Tip: Increase the amount of loot they receive and in the game you select a shorter time in the mission.
      That way you can send servants on shorter missions and still get the amount of resources equivalent to a longer mission (24h in real life)
      ... i also set inventory stacks multiplier to 2
      and in Vampire section increase Resource Power Multiplier to break things faster... 12 knocks to drop a tree is too much in a single player

      Not unless you edit some of the game files (see other comments)

  • @DocSardo
    @DocSardo 2 года назад +2

    Aside from all of the other good suggestions below in the comments, you can also set your castle hearts to degrade less rapidly, or not degrade at all. It seems to me that the only reason to have degrading castle hearts is if you play on a public server (to eventually clear out all of the abandoned castles on the map).
    I also like setting the territory size based on castle tier to 50, 150, 250 (max), 250 (max). That way there is still a feeling of progression, but allows for larger castles earlier (provided that you build at a site that allows for the expansion - some of the sites in the starting zone can't handle 250 squares). And, I increased the number of servants allowed.

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 года назад

      Bigger is better! :) I like the XL castle!
      The castle heart degrading is actually something that's no longer an issue solo - you'll have more essence then you need after like an hour of playing, and since it doesn't keep ticking as you log out it basically never needs to be refilled.

    • @DocSardo
      @DocSardo 2 года назад

      @@TheDutchActuary Oh I didn't realize that it doesn't keep ticking when logged out. Good to know! I originally set mine to 0.5 speed, so a few stacks of essences lasts me weeks anyway. I was just concerned that being an early access game I may end up taking long breaks in between new content, and I didn't want to have to log in just to feed the castles. But in hindsight, it certainly makes sense that nothing would advance if the server is offline. Of course, they could always make changes to the game that are so significant such that complete wipes are required - the downside to playing early access (i.e., beta).

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 года назад

      @@DocSardo I don't expect such gamebreaking updates to happen at this point to be honest. I mean, there's always that risk, but it is more likely they'll just add in new features that might require you to start over to see them in your game.

    i personally find the higher level bosses with standard settings ridiculous and half of them are totally unbalanced. if you play solo with standard settings you have to really use every advantage for almost every boss at around level 50 and above. best blood, best potions, best gear and if you can, bloodmoon. forget to "just" go kill a boss as they are all as tough as you would imagine an old school mmo raid encounter would be, just as a solo experience. its disproportionate and by design unfair, you will get killed due to random factors cause all boss adds move faster then you and you do not hit every strike and you get killed, or you miss a dodge and the boss nukes 70% of your life. easy difficulty is relative when the game standard settings are totally geared toward the hardcore mentality. honestly it is kind of false advertisement, that the game does not mention the mentality it is designed with and i wish people would be made aware before they buy.
    just from a game immersion perspective, it makes no sense the vampires can even exist in this world, because the npcs are that op, they could just hunt and wipe them out easily.

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  6 месяцев назад +1

      The game seems to be balanced around multiplayer. Attacking the bosses from multiple angles makes them a LOT easier (even if they get more health with friends)

    • @Dr.AvenVon
      @Dr.AvenVon 4 месяца назад

      started a few days ago, and I mostly agree. some bosses are clearly not designed to be fought solo, while others simply need a change of strategy. my biggest problem is how many areas of the game are not build around solo. those vampire ruins in the eastern part of the map are near impossible solo on the standart setting, because there are simply too many enemies there. coop, it is fine, but not solo

    While it's a good tip to to show that you have options.
    I personally don't find these settings better, I prefer to play this game solo aswell, but I guess I like to make myself suffer? lol, I want to keep the restricted teleporting, I feel it ruins the game otherwise.
    I also don't play on easy, rather I up the difficulty quite a lot, almost makes some of the end bosses close to impossible, Some of them I needed to re attemt like 30 times, but it was rewarding when you finnely win. 200% Minion health, 150% Minion dmg, 150% Boss health, 150% Boss dmg.
    All that said, I did increase the lengh of each 24 hour day, but I made the night part longer % of it to, while also increasing the sun dmg and less time before dmg start.
    So it made you plan to go out during the night more and go back for the day most of the time.

      You may have to resort to using Admin commands if it is your own server. You are the Admin of your game. There has been a command that has been added to forward time by a number of hours. Usage of these tools requires personal adherence to an honor system of course. I plan to try this, and will only use it while asleep in a coffin.

      Agreed. I'm currently trying out adjusting the servant hunt multiplier to 3x essentially having the resource yield of 24 hours, but I only need to wait for 2 hours. Ideally, they'd change this in offline servers to maybe 15, 30, 45, 60 minute intervals. But for now, try this.
      Oh and one more thing, I recommend adjusting the Servant convert rate. I'm currently trying out 10.
