I feel like it's less about comparison and more about absurdly misrepresented content. These bases are gorgeous, but "quick and easy" ? "beginner" ? "NOOB"?! Come off it.
I think Jimmy needs to start a series called: Jimmy tackles “easy starter bases” lol it would be great to see him recreate one of these “easy” Minecraft bases 😂
Pretty sure that Cherry Blossom Base was made in world-edit. You can see portions of the build being casually shifted around to make room for new elements.
If you do have the time, maybe it would be fun to do an "impoving my building skills" series where each episode you invite an other friend over to teach you something new and then you make a build where you apply what you learned.
The one with the mountain is particularly egregious because you can see it's not all clean stone when it's first excavated, but once you "give it a nice shape" all the different stone types and ores are gone.
Tbf you kinda need the different stones and the ores for other future builds if you're playing survival. Which is also a reason you'd want to -bulldoze- pickaxe a mountain.
@@looFyttiK But it starts out as a starter base. Then you just keep adding to it to make a big cool base out of said starter. But like, even if you hang out at the same starter base for an irl year or something crazy, that's still the base you started with.
@@MsLilly200 :D True enough. It technically would still be your "starer base" in that sense. But, it's not what is generally implied by the term "starter base." :)😄
I like Joel's short he did about this and how people try to build what they see and think it is bad but really it is the fact the person used a bunxh if editing to make it look bettwr then it is so good
Most of these, you can tell from the videos, are made in Creative with some sort of world editor (at some points, like at 10:04, you can actually see the builder move a section of a building, or copy/paste it). Different environment and goal set entirely; don't sell yourself short by comparing the results. :)
You should get your friends to try and make the smallest base ever with all the necessary blocks like furnaces, crafting table etc And then rank them in how small they are, smallest being first and biggest being last
Tbh, I feel like a lot of these builds are just condensed to shorts/tiktok video timelimits that make them look easy while it would "normal" players months to build (in survival) despite on how simple they look.
Jim do not let them tell you smaller builds are the noob builds. I have made some absolutely incredible things on a smaller scale because the thing about the big builds is that they have no detail. They are big and impressive but up close they will look flat and empty of anything to look at
Person making a building tutorial: “So i’m going to add a little detail nothing much” 0.000001 seconds later *Has gone from a small house to a freaking mansion* “So like i said not to much detail it’s just a starter house”
I know this video is old, but you're getting better as a builder, and at least some of these I both think you could do, and would like to see you build
As a builder i think out of all the builds shown here - but not taking into account of the tiktoks showing the growth of bases - I think this 6:33 is the easiest build shown. The moon shape can be easily scaled down and you basically just need the whatever material you want for the moon, oak planks, glass and whatever you want to put in there 😅
i feel like the hardest part of some of these is A: clearing out space (like a whole MOUNTAIN) and B: my build style could never fit something like that
I dislike "survival bases" that have only single chests that are spred apart for storage. Your storage systems need to have like blocks in bulk near each other.
I look at some of these builds and go "soooo, where's the usable space????" like sure some of them are for decor but I've seen too many "base designs" that are laid out terribly and are basically unusable.
it would be sort of cool to see a series where jimmy learns to build like a Proper Minecraft Builder with an earnest effort. maybe starting with some of following those simple tutorials, then trying to build something in a similar style/block palette that isn't identical, then thinking about shape and colour and slowly developing. ive loves seeing jimmy slowly become a little bit more confident at building, but having guests on to help with different stages of building (shape, colour, texture, detail, scale, etc) could be a cool way to see how it develops
“What is that? What is that!? WHAT IS DAT- … WHAT IS THAT!?” (👏) “Thi- this is the prime example of what this video is about, you watch this video that and you haven’t played Minecraft for like, 2 months and you go, “I’m coming back, I’m coming back baby, and I’m coming back to play.” And you think you can build like, you’re wrong, you’re WRONG. Only Charlie Custard can build like that apparently.” -Solidarity
Oh, I quite like the one at 10:25, because oftentimes I tell myself "I'll build a starter house here, and then come up with a mega base somewhere else," but frequently run out of steam before I get to the mega base. This particular build, however, is very modular/expands with you, and could easily become the mega base. Might need to do that the next time I don't have a theme in mind.
Hey Jim, I just wanted to let you know that after years of watching Minecraft RUclips and wanting all these Merch items I've finally been able to get your Jimmy's Dreamhouse merch, the first piece of RUclipsr Merch I've ever gotten!
I think Jimmy should do an actual compilation of his attempts at making these builds! I’m sure they’d be a lot better than he gives himself credit for!

Oh Jimmy don't be down. I spent an entire year and a couple months on Impulse's patron server living out of a literal hole in the side of a cliff. The only thing I did was add glass to look over the water and make a bubblevator to get up (I just jumped off into the ocean to get down lol)
you should do a 'rating our builds' and give us a theme; but somewhere inside we've got to hide something that you've got to search for... or on the sims
Personally, I would LOVE to see you react to hermit craft/empires mega bases. Also for the next merch drop I would love to see enamel pins. These are a great option for someone to be able to display your Mitch without having to iron it onto fabric. Love your merch would love some pins!!!
I'm not sure if Solidarity is a Game of Thrones fan (book, not TV show), but there is a server called Westeros craft (this is not a plug, just love their work) that recreates all the castles and keeps of Westeros as they are described in the books at present time, including towns and ruins. I think he would love to wonder at all the detail (plus the hundreds of miles of tunnels beneath King's Landing alone). They're no where near complete, some have been rebuilt over time after updating, and others have been abandoned for the time being. But it is incredible to explore
One thing that everyone seems to forget when watching these timelapse "easy builds" is that IT'S A TIMELAPSE, the whole process is sped up, most of the builds likely took weeks to build if not longer, with clearing out space and gathering materials and everything else, when all the gathering of materials is cut out, so all you see is a insanely fast clearing of the build area, the teraforming of said area, and the build going in, all being shoved into a handfull of minutes at most of course it's going to be a "sensational" video. The thing is with timelapses it makes it look exceptionally fast smooth and easy to acomplish. When you actually play you KNOW it's not really that fast easy or smooth. There's times where you'll mess up on a count in the build somewhere which gets cut out of the timelapse. There's gathering everything you need, traveling, repairing tools, fighting mobs, and possibly even ending up loosing everything if a fight goes bad or if you fall too far ect. All of that also gets cut out of timelapse videos. The way i look at these build videos is with all of that in mind. That there's been possibly a month's worth of work if not more that is NOT shown in them to get the result that is seen, we're only shown the best parts edited together with none of the rest involved. Also most of these are done in creative, more than likely sense even in the timelapse you NEVER see the light change for the time of day, getting darker for sun down and sun up, it's always noon in most of them. So they've either set their game mode to ALWAYS be day which is available with commands enabled even in survival worlds id they aren't in creative, OR they are in creative where they have access to all those codes anyway. It's still a lot of work that gets cut out either way, but that's how i look at it. I may be wrong, if so then i admit it and apologize, it's simply my view point with the information that i have available to me. I admire the work that goes into it in any case, they are pretty builds....but i have to disagree with the "easy" or "beginner" tags that a lot of people put on them, as unless you jump into the deep end with building out of the gate like i did (which most people don't because they don't know the blocks and how to get them well enough) that is NOT what a beginner will build...they may WANT to sure...but they don't have the knowledge to be able to unless they poke and prod at the game for a long time and figure out what's what.
I so love watching minecraft time-lapse build videos, it make it seem every build is 3D printed in an open canvas turning an ordinary scenery into an impressive work of art
