I really liked the interview with LT. General Jonah Mwangi from the Kenya Defense Forces. His straightforward and inspiring way of answering questions was pretty impressive. It's cool how he didn't beat around the bush and just got straight to the point. It would be great if Kenya had something like the Junior ROTC program like the US- it would be awesome to have a program that helps young people develop leadership skills and all that. Also, they’ll know about requirements ahead of time such as the tattoo thing.
These are just words, the actual thing taking place cannot be changed. I was disqualified in 1992 at Homabay after undergoing all processes and we were only remaining 7 at 14hrs. An officer asked me to disclose the person I came with! This was Greek to me! Upon telling him that I desired to join the Air-force after recruitment were announcements over the radio. He then checked my urine and claimed that it had blood stain and am sick. He thereby dismissed me by throwing my papers to the wind. However up to today my kidneys are still good and am well. So was I sick or I just had no money, person to buy me the opportunity?
Problem with recruitment is corruption. Many young graduated who meet all the academic and physical requirements are rejected...and those who bribe taken.

One question how does 26 yrs have a beneficial for service men cadet so I think you should extend to 32 yrs coz training can't affect anything coz if a specialist trains up to 39 do you we should give other people opportunities

Regarding the issue of height and weight, the KDF is backward. KDF need to adopt OSH and Ergonomics systems of fitting the job to the individual. If a weapon is 4 feet long and we have a short soldier, they can procure or modify weapons for them. Innovation is what makes armies great. That goes for USA, UK Army and others.
