Who should avoid getting one? | TVS Ronin FAQ #3
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 апр 2023
- If you think a 225cc motorcycle should be the one motorcycle that satisfies the next 3-4 years of your motorcycle adventure dreams, you might want to avoid getting yourself a Ronin.
One. It's designed to run run in the city... at the expense of ability out on the highway. It starts to lose its effortless refinement by 65kmph -- which we think is ridiculous -- but there's a distinct change in manner at higher speeds that is oddly unsatisfying and frankly, unnecessary. Two. This is also true for the suspension. It's very plush and comfortable at low speeds but that ability runs out too. Bigger bumps and higher speeds both put the suspension in a place where keeping things smooth becomes challenging for the Ronin. That smoothness at city speeds? It doesn't last. Three. Don't get us wrong. If you have a Ronin, there's nothing that stops you from touring with it and any of these things. It's just that it's A LOT BETTER in the city than on the highway and a 225 could easily (and SHOULD!) have a better balance between the daily grind and the weekend ambition.

Just did a 1500km week long ride to Manali and Lahaul Spiti on my ronin , smoothest ride and comfort with pillion no issues at all, you will never go beyond 100 Kmph on Indian roads if you want to ride safely. The biggest shocker was 50+ Kmpl mileage. Amazing value for money with great ride quality, don’t be a fool and fall into the RE hunter trap. Go for it
Awesome! Thanks for letting us know!
50kmpl kuch jyada nahi ho gya?

Don’t fell in trap of ronin it is no match for hunter in looks and character

Why bro for hunter re
Actually most of the riders use the bike in the city for 95% of the time. Infact, a majority never ever take the bike for touring. Considering the majority of the city users, soft suspension makes perfect sense.
Yes, you're right Hitesh. But it's not about the majority. It's about the each person finding the right-est bike for them. So we must account for the guy who _might_ go touring too
@@motorinc no bike is 100% perfect 👍🏼 but it’s closer to our expectation
@@nileshchopade1199 very much agree
@@motorincBut you had just reviewed it for the guy who will go on touring.
Naa your in old generation bro. Nowadays bcoz of this reels people started going bike rides for long drive
What this guy said only applies if you're going above 80 kms
💯
That’s why sir told to not on highway tourer,it’s meant for city ride…on highway who ride bike 70 or 80km per hour
Which is absolutely fine... You're not reaching anywhere if you're going below 80 on a highway:/
At that thing I will be going 95 all the time

I am using it since last 3 months daily run 48+ kms . It include city traffic , village road which is rough and national highway . It's good everywhere no problem at high way. And in my view no one drives bike daily at 100+ speed also it's not safe to drive any bike at such speed. 80 km should be Max limit . So it's a good bike .

@_hello._.world_I recommend driving on NHAI highways for sheer comfort and long life. NHAI highways, you can bet on it!
I am shocked with every statement he makes it is quite contradictory to what the motorcycle is.
225 CC is quite much efficient and shock abs are quite comfortable. Touring is so much possible and convenient I can say.
I think it good in the city and as well in highway performing way to better when comes to comfort.
If this is anyone’s first bike they should go for it blinded unless you are concerned for mileage it offers.
I agree, I own RTR 200 2021 model & I felt these mentioned things when I rode Ronin. But I think the avg consumer can live with it.🤗

Damn bro😂😂😂best comment. you nailed it.
In NH or Express ways one can comfortably cruise at 90 kmph with Ronin.
Soft suspension! Been waiting for one of those for a long time, with all the stupid stiff fast bikes on our roads, with such low comfort levels.
The Ronin blasts from start like a Champ, and has enough grunt to keep us VERY happy in the city, for most of our riding.
Man our foriegn minister sure is unique 😅

I wish tvs gets more of 310 and 400cc segment for touring enthus.
They’re a slow but thorough company… we can’t wait!
@@motorinc hmmmm. Real question is can anybody be fast and thorough?
@@Aditya90sKZ Ah then the question would be - "How fast is 'fast'?" and "How thorough is 'thorough'?".
brother for India 220 250 are more than enough. Also considering city 30 kmph limit and highways 50 to 80kmph speed limits, this bike gears up to be the perfect all rounder package. TVS is working hard and giving us fresh tech and designs. Yes The max you can go up to 350cc and The RE comes out to be the best in that segment. Also Budget and your requiremnt plays a vital role in choosing a perfect purpose bike for you.
Actully they sell same models in Indonesia as well and have plant there too.. in indonesia there's more tex on bike exceeding 250cc engine.. i guess to make bike affordable in more then one country they have taken this decision.

Took my ronin to the hills of Darjeeling and Kalimpong, did almost 1500km in 3 days, cruised at 100kmh and sometimes even at 110kmh. I didn't get any such problems. Even the soft suspensions did good only. And yes i had faced issued with my headlamp (it got dimmer with time, will replace it with some good 150w after market headlamp). First of all don't review any kind of bike with their ads.... Secondly I've ridden more than 15,000 kms with TVS Ronin... I am a 6 feet tall guy and I didn't face any kind of issues in comfort, highway cruising as well as off-road... Even I clocked 130kmph... On highway cruising, you can cruise at a speed of 100kmph. It's a value for money product... So please don't spread any kind of nonsense to get publicity
First, we're glad you're enjoying your purchase! That's the most important thing.
Second, we don't understand "with their ads" But to clarify, there are no promotions, sponsors on MotorInc. We call it like we see it, and you do not have to agree with our opinion.
Nonsense? That's your opinion. And we disagree with it.
Exactly. I don't know on what basis this guys is doing these reviews. Bike remains stable at 110-130 kmph. Indian roads are not suitable for over 100kmph anyway, but there has not been any issue of "soft" handing upto or after 100.
Sir, I also want to purchase a new bike. TVS ronin has almost major features. But I have a query. Since you have used this bike, moreover my height is also 6 feet, I home you can solve my small query. Can you please tell me whether the healthy rider with 6 feet and healthy lady pillion with height 5feet 6 inch can ride comfortably on this bike? Get out from under the rock fellas, there is a bigger world around you!
I have owned Ronin for past 1 year and clocked 6000 km. So far i can say ronin is amazing in city. It is one of the best optimized bike for city use, has lots of power in the low end. On highway its goes till 90 kmph like a rocket, but beyond 110 kmph it struggles a little. Any where between 100 to 110 is a comfortable cruising speed for Ronin. If you decide to go easy on it, it can crusise all day long at 80 kmph (it feels so relaxed at that speed). Note: TVS makes one of the best exhausts in India and Ronin's exhaust is no exception
Thanks for sharing SS! And happy to know you are enjoying your Ronin! Wish you awesome travels.
Lets summarize his review. Daily use for 85+ speed with that speed yes no one will drive that fast daily its dangerous anyway. Secondly this TVS Ronin is very good for daily use for long run and even in the city as well. If you long run even with 100+ speed dude accident will happen. So overall its a good bike i recommend it.
Thanks for the summary, and for the generalisations both! 😊

@@aamirshihab4183 it doesn’t have good upper end torque.
The honest answer is that in the retro class there are only two really good bikes, and unfortunately for customers, both are from RE and not spread across brands. That's Classic and Meteor. All of the rest need work.
On the flip side, the same class, if you look at other brands, the KTM Dukes and the current RCs make excellent bikes (yes, you will (and should learn to) ignore the social media image conversation). The Adventure isn't the same level of nice though... Himalayan/Scram are likely to be replaced later this year, so currently we're not recommending those.

Thank you for letting us know @GearShifter925.
Is fz25 better than ronnin? for city and highway use?
Anyday
If you are ok with rear set footpegs and stiff suspension then it's a absolutely yes. Fz25 has better top speed which eventually gives the rider a higher smooth cruising speed.
Yes. We do think the FZ is better balanced across the two use cases.
Fz 25 is almost same, it's also lacks power which you need in NH to go beyond speed of 100 comfortably, but it's suspension and smoothness is better than ronin.
It seems like TVS has lost to the competition! No real excitement from the brand. They've somehow managed to take the grunty engine from the RTR 200 and make it duller and average. Unless they bring a true competitor to the new ns200 or even my n250 I'd stay away from TVS for now!
What they need is a new 250cc 4valve dohc with 6 gears and use the same engine in the form of a RR250, ADV 250, RTR 250, RONIN 250 and if they somehow manage to keep prices sub 2.5lac, they'd just turn the whole market upside down!
Spot on!
Buy the cb 350 rs. Absolutely no power lower down. But an amazing touring machine.
We don’t recommend the Honda 350s.
Ronin is more focussed on touring and sedate driving and not rash driving that you do on other commuters... So i guess this is the best setup....

Honda cb350 is the only direct competition for RE 350 series...
@@THUGPUTIN no that's not what I asked i asked if it was similar to Ronin at high speed on highways or not
Hunter has a lot stiffer suspension and due to it's higher kerb weight and excellent chassis tuning it feels a lot more planted at top speeds than the Ronin.
@@rayparthapratim what's the handling like does it move like Ronin
@@vluga haven't ridden the ronin yet, but have ridden the hunter a fair bit. Let me tell you, on paper it's 180kgs, true, but it feels a lot lighter than that trust me. The handle is light and it doesn't tend to tip over like the dominar 250/400. At higher speeds though the handles stiffens quite a bit and even at it's top speed it maintains it's line decently. The chassis tuning by Harris performance is excellent. That said, it doesn't tend to cross above 125ish.
I bought Ronin 2months ago and its not stable on highway when you cross 80 which is definitely due to the soft suspension setup.
And Not to mention the mirrors are totally useless.
😂😂
1When you suggest it's not fit for highways.. i believe you keep the fact in check that this is around 2lakh even competitions are facing same problem at higher RPM 😅 eg. N250, MT , 200 4v they even face vibration problems!
2) Competitors like apache 200 don't even avail USD forks 😅
3) In today's era people don't bother travelling highways via 200/250 cc bikes 😅😅 soLong touring is probably problem for every 200/250cc bike !
.
Ronin is good for Cities & Light off roading! I believe it's only bike which can offer both with refined engine , Low maintenance, Good Performance better Milage ❤
.
But if people wants a touring bike they should go for cruiser like Jawa / Classic & Roadster! For which they have to pay 30-40k extra !
If they want to travel on tougher roads like laddakh & North east they should prefer Himalyan, Yezdi ADV etc.. for which they have to pay 70k-1.5Lkah extra .. 😅😅😅
.
But if they want a good looking premium bike .. which can Balance everything.. compatible for all seasons.. and fit on budget even in maintenance should go For Ronin..
Totally Unscripted ❤

Can you list the positives of Ronin in your next one let us see how independent your channel is and how unbiased you are.
TVS in Indonesia has started selling the Ronin here, and the automotive media already directly compares it to its competitors in the form of the Yamaha XSR 155, which has a similar style, but it's sold at a higher price than the Ronin which has a larger engine capacity (225 cc vs 155 cc) and had many more features.
We don't have multi-lane highway that motorcycle can access to, that's reserved only for cars/bus/truck, all motorcycle in Indonesia restricted to the inter-province road with max speed 80 km/h in the flat region, and it's seldom a rider can sustain that speed in long run unless in the middle of the night.

Funny how it flies under the radar and doesn't appear as a same-brand competitor to the Ronin. The RTR is an absolute steal.
I have been riding Ronin for over a year, covering above 16,000 km, including a 900 km long ride in a single day. I have traversed various types of roads, such as mountains, deserts, and rough terrains, and I have never experienced the issues mentioned in your video. Please don't mislead customers without firsthand experience. It seems that you may have some conflicts with TVS. 😂
We're super thrilled you're enjoying your ride! That said, our opinion is what we've said. We do not think it's worth buying. We have no conflicts but we do call it like see it and there's no plan to accept mediocre products from great brands as the new normal.
@@motorinc I have few questions-
What specific issues or drawbacks do you believe make the Ronin not worth buying?
Can you elaborate on your experiences that led to forming this opinion about the Ronin?
Are there particular aspects of the bike's performance, durability, or features that you find lacking?
Have you compared the Ronin to other bikes in a similar price range, and if so, what makes those alternatives more preferable in your view?
Could you recommend some other bikes that you consider to be better choices within the same price range, and what attributes make them stand out?
Please do see all of the Ronin videos - there's a bunch of them on our home page.
@@motorinc As I mentioned earlier, all of your comments are not genuine, they're biased. As a genuine buyer, I do not agree with any of your negative opinions on Ronin.
So if you don't agree, we must be biased? We're okay with you disagreeing, and that doesn't make you biased towards your Ronin. You just have a differing opinion. However, if you don't trust us - just don't watch MotorInc.
Higher speed for a 225 bike is what 110 or 120 is enough to ride...but ..only some time...the AVG speed 70..80 is most of the time so... it's good...
I own the top end and ride from Aug 23
Feel that issue at the speed of 100km
Otherwise its very smooth on indian roads.
Nearly 50km/ltr in 225cc segment is a good thing 😇🤩😍🤗
Why motorinc is not reviewing the Honda CB300F?
