- Split Enz is 5km of grade 3 flow! This is a tough race run because there is a lot of sprinting to be done if you are trying to lay down a fast time! Here I am chasing Bradley (Insta @bradleylauder)
This is a 2W trail preview for the December 2022 round. Check out the event here - www.enduronz.com/

mean video jamie, did this track a few years ago, mean to see its in peak condition!!! 🙌 🙌 🙌
It's still as flowy as ever! 🙌
Wow what a fantastic track split ends is one of my favourites
It's a classic for sure!
🙌 one of my favourites
So good eh!!
I think it might have been that same slight corner near end around the 9:07 mark that almost got me on my first ride down there... For some reason I read it as going to be tighter turn than it is, came close to eating the bank but just saved it 😆
The old blind corner... it's definitely a balance between keeping up and getting to close with the fella in front too. That was a bit close I reckon!
I appreciate the trails are in a working pine plantation, but I can't help imagining how more incredible this trail would be surrounded by native bush.
The Department of Conservation is working on some big changes to allow more trails for bikes on conservation land. So hopefully your dream becomes a reality sooner than you think.
I tend to pedal through the entirety of any given corner whilst modulating my speed with the brakes, I feel it gives more grip and therefore more speed as opposed to just freewheeling through them. Must give split endz another run as it looks very smooth since I last rode it, hows roller coaster looking these days?
Interesting. I don't know many people who pedal and brake at the same time. Sounds a little counteractive. Not how I teach it either. Generally speaking I do as little pedaling as possible but this was a 'race run'. Depends on the corner I reckon. There's a thousand ways to skin a cat as they say!
Roller coaster hasn't changed much. There's a bit of harvesting in the area so the main thing is that you follow and signage. While it's out it means there is work being done. If a trail's closed or has tape up it's for a good reason.
Where are you where are you in New Zealand
The MTB mecca - Rotorua!
Love the unrelenting flow on this trail but it always destroys my unfit ass (stopping is cheating). And yes, I just need to ride more!
Haha usually I take a break or 3 on my way down this one. No point in rushing eh after you made it all of the way to the top!
Sage advice.. :)
