      How do you watch 3d movies? If you have a blu-ray. Do you have to convert it first into a side by side file? how long does the process work. Does the go rely on computer power? I assume the computer is uploading movies to the GO and you watch it after it loaded? Does Netflix or any other have 3d stereo movies?
      thank you

    • @RaMarcus
      @RaMarcus  6 лет назад +1

      You'll need to rip the blue rays and then convert to side by side. Facepalm did some good videos on how to do that. Then just attach your Go to a PC to transfer the films over and watch them in your favourite media player. Netflix doesn't have any 3D movies unfortunately.

    When your watching a video or movie can you make it so that if you move your head it will still keep the movie or video in place like with the gear vr?

    • @RaMarcus
      @RaMarcus  6 лет назад +2

      Yes, it depends on what app you're using. Netflix has a slow following mode which makes it slowly catch up, more for if you were in a car I guess. Some media apps do allow you to lock it to you view.

    I've just thought of a question, searched and see some posts from few months back that this was not yet possible but something Oculus are looking to develop. Hope you can confirm that's still the current situation or if you know of anything newer...
    I'm wondering about TV mirroring.
    Like the PSVR offers other people in the room to see on the telly what the headset wearer is seeing in VR.
    Does the Go offer any means to do that?
    If I'm letting someone use my Go, and they need some help controlling for example, or navigating menus, would be good to see what they see... Without having to pull them from the experience to view via the Go headset myself

    This might be a dumb question, but what are the guidelines for what you should and shouldn’t use for a battery pack? Like the range of mah that you could use or anything else I’m not even thinking of. For example, I saw one that was relatively small that was around 4000 mah- do you think that would work?

    • @RaMarcus
      @RaMarcus  6 лет назад

      Here's a vidoe which goes into the battery pack a bit more. It's only 2900mah so almost doubles the play time, about 4hrs is enough for me, plus it's light on my head. You can use any size power banks but the bigger they are the heavier they are. I use a long usbC to micro usb cable. But since the cable is braided, even if I have slack in the cord, it will slightly bump something and pull the headset... Just got my Oculus Go 64gig for Christmas to test before I got my grandkids one. I've barely used it....did a tour around the space station and I have the ISS game, but each time I try to use it now it says I have no memory. How do I figure out what is taking up all my memory? I've looked at the settings and most of the time when I click "see all" it does nothing. I click Home and get a message "unable to download there is not enough space on your device". It gives me and option to go to settings and I click it and then the see all option, but still nothing happens. I've been able to get into see all just once.
    It feels like I need to reset it to factory settings or something. Any ideas on how I could have made a mess of this already or is it just malfunctioning? Thank you in advance for any help.

    Hey, ReMarcus, thanks for all your great videos on the Go, much appreciated. I have two quick rookie questions. One, will I need to get a Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 if I want to use an Xbox controller, either for Go games or sideloaded PC games? And, are there headphones you recommend? I have a Go arriving in the next day, so I haven't held the device in my hands; but it seems like I might run out of physical real estate even on my own huge cranium if I try to use the Go and headphones at the same time. Cheers!

    • @RaMarcus
      @RaMarcus  6 лет назад +1

      If you get the newer Bluetooth Xbox One S controller you won't need the adapter (unless your PC doesn't support Bluetooth, then you'll need a Bluetooth adapter for the PC). The controller can connect straight to the Go. And as for headphones, give it a go without them first as the audio is pretty good. You only need headphones if you don't want to disturb others, otherwise use which ever headphones you prefer, I have a large head and my Cloud HyerX headphones are fine.

      Depends on your view. You don't get an option to choose the quality but if you use the void and bring it close you'll get 720p. The plex app is a solution alternative to Netflix but it would involve having a media library of your own set up on a desktop that you can allow remote access to. The Bigscreen app might work, as you can have multiple people in the same virtual room, you might have to access netflix in a roundabout way, either through a web browser in Bigscreen or through remote desktop viewing.
      I'm not sure netflix offers party viewing but it should probably be on their to-do list. It would be an excellent aid for long distance relationship scenarios.

    As I always tell people when it comes to the screen door effect, you only really see it if you look for it, but even on things like the Rift, Vive or PSVR, where its more visible, you won't see it even on them really unless you are examining the display. A lot of tech sites will comment on it but they are examining the device, not commenting on its real world use. Its like watching a DVD on a big 4K screen, you won't even notice its in SD after a few minutes as you will be engrossed in what you are watching.

      Plus I think the media aspect of VR is a bit gimmicky. VR has and always will be for gaming.

      @@SurvivingTheApocalypse id disagree. I bought a Go purely for media consumption. Turning my bedroom into my own movie theatre is fantastic. Its not the same quality as a 4k tv but the tradeoff is worth it... Less quality for the spacious illusion to the mind, in addition to the ability to lay perfectly comfortably and have a perfect viewing angle. Its not for everyone, but on a plane for example, I'd normally watch movies on a phone. The Go solves so many of the issues of being on a plane.
      Honestly the 6dof games id say are more gimmicky than anything else. Its cool but it's more of an experience to have than something with potential longevity, like Elite Dangerous is better when using a HOTAS than it would be with motion controllers, same with project cars or any other type of sim. Room scale games are pretty niche as gamers typically aren't active folk. I'm in decent shape and i cant be arsed to turn around in 360 videos, never mind run on a treadmill. VR is the future of simulation and private viewing experiences.

      Limiting you self to less than 30mins a session and giving yourself time to readjust should be fine. You're still growing so you don't want your eyes to think VR is how you're meant to see the world. 😉

      RaMarcus nope, it’s a no go. Either amazon or Facebook is blocking the other.

      Works for me. You can look to sideload the Amazon app and watch it in Oculus TV.

      Does the rest of the controller work? Try removing the battery and putting it back in. Also hold the Home and Back button for 5 secs to resync it.

    Can you wear your glasses Or do you not need to wear them.

      Depends on your eyes. You can wear them with the headset if needed, there is a spacer you can add in to give you more room in the headset.
