  • Been wanting to make this video for a while but forgot haha. The anor londo intro cutscene is missing 2 pretty massive mappieces that made me facepalm when I noticed it for the first time. #darksouls #darksoulsmods #darksoulsremastered

    5:02 - that AL wall looks weird.
    Also, I feel like the colors are pale, AL should bathe in golden sunlight.

    Hi! First let me say that I love your mod and really admire your work. I don't know if you know this, but the footsteps in blighttown swamp are floating in the air and the same thing happens in other swamp areas like below the breaking floor in lost Izalith (where the giant squids are at). Also, you can see a black tree or something like that from firelink shrine looking in blighttown direction. I can send you some screenshots or videos if needed :)

      Aw thank ya! I appreciate you. Yeah QLOC handled the remaster in 2018, and I don't think they were given much time or money to do it, if I had to guess. Admittedly their work is the only thing that allows my mod to work, though. They did some amazing optimization to the game thankfully

      @@fromsoftserve interesting. I did not actually know the remaster was outsourced. I appreciate the nuanced response that explains why they might not have been able to do so much. I guess it makes sense that performance would be the biggest focus for the team since PTDE really did not run too well.

      Most Remasters, Remakes and HD Editions of Games, as Well as Ports to New platforms are 80% made by a different Studio than the og dev, mostly dedicated for that Task. 😇 ​@@alexharvey7660

    This is wild, I'm surprised I've never heard about this. It seems out of place in a game which normally has so much consistency with areas across different LOD levels for example. But it is pretty easy to miss so I'm not surprised it was overlooked

      So true! When I noticed it I was like oh my goooood how didn't I notice it. But it really is minor, all things considered. It's also the spectacle of the cutscene that would hide it I think

    My dude, win+printscreen saves a screenshot into Pictures/Screenshots. And I agree that the Nvidia Exp stuff works like crap and just decides to not do stuff or loose settings etc

      I use prntscreen just so I can easily crop the pic in paint. Also I'm already used to it, hard to change old habits lol

    In the first part I feel it's good the first elevator was missing, since it was obscuring the view

    4:00 there was already a mod doing this (since april 2019 apparently?), id 139 on Nexus "Dark Bandai Namco Intro Logo".

    Now that I was looking for it I noticed the center elevator missing but didn't notice the other one.
    What good art direction does to a dude, we can be in awe of the city of the gods and not even notice some rather massive chunks missing.

    Love the inclusion of the new Namco Bandi logo, just started playing Elden Ring again recently and really liked the update. Great update.

    I find this interesting since the flag to hide those objects in the cutscene feels like the original intent was to hide the objects on purpose when the cutscene plays.
    When the cutscene is played with the objects visible, it looks like them being hidden was done for compositional reasons when Anor Londo, her sky, the cathedral, the 'objective' is revealed.
    The tower obscures the stairs to the cathedral, and the rotating tower probably drew too much attention since it's normally in full sunlight if I remember correctly, but I could be wrong!
    Love stuff like this, not necessarily a bug I think. Having them be visible definitely is more accurate to the actual environment, lol..
    The measures taken for readability are sometimes funny

    Please fix the beam of light that cuts through the wall in the cutscene in the remaster. It bothers me so much and looks so glaringly bad (visible at 2:00 on the left side of the screen and at 5:51 in your mod). It's not like that in the PtD edition.

    I find it very odd that Demons Souls can be entirely remade with new graphics and world details, yet when it comes to Dark Souls (the game that put this series on the map) can't even have a simple drawing issue fixed for the Remaster. Imagine what Dark Souls would look like if it got similar treatment to Demons Souls. Thanks for putting the time to fix this stuff :)

    Hi, I wanted to add your mod for my first walkthrough in DSR. Im curious, is this mod likely to break my run? And can i install it properly withouth having Steam on disk C?

    Am I the only one that gets massive fps drops? Sometimes I drop to 20fps in undead burg.
    Edit: After launching and closing the game on steam and then launching it with the .bat file it runs a lot better, although still not great. Also changing the fps cap from 60 to 165 doesn't seem to work.
    2nd edit: updating my graphics drivers seemed to fix the performance issues altogether. Still can't change the fps cap though.
