Awesome collection! From my experience another reason if there's any yellowing bit on the edge of the leaf that's because there's water build up on it and from that, bacteria and fungus really easy to slip through the leaf cells, that's why air circulation really important for these guys. Everytime i see sap of water on their leaves, i try to dry it up with a tissue. Another "tricks" that i found help to prevent/stop the yellowing to go further is to treat them with fungicide once in a while. I have 19 anthurium (3 stumps and 4 birdnest anthurium), and the ones with velvety leaves are really prone to have yellowing leaves. So they do really need more TLC. I really love anthurium, though i get overwhelmed by it sometimes, because there are just so many hybrids and there's a lot of cases of lost ID. So I'm actually taking a break collecting them at the moment. Plus i need to do control damage on my bank account lol.
Lulu I'm so glad I found this video! I needed to hear someone say it's ok to have these plants in sphagnum. Your collection is all that, so beautiful and I have no words for your veitchii truly a G.O.A.T.!! I'm in love.💚💚💚
I just pulled my Mag out of the cabinet and I'm stressing about it so much 😵💫 she was touching the top though so it was time. I have pon coming tomorrow to prop her if need be 😜
I’d love to see the process of pollinating anthuriums! I tried pollinating my Clarinervium this summer but was unsuccessful. It would be super cool to watch you give it a go!
You’ve inspired me to get my FIRST Magnificum!!! And this bad boy is BIG!!!!! His newest leaf is HUGE! I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! Ahh!!! Do a GROWTH UPDATE! Or PHILODENDRON COLLECTION! The Anthuriums are AMAZING!
These are the one species that I struggle with but I think that’s because I don’t have a cabinet or greenhouse yet, once I purchase a cabinet I think that humidity will be high enough for them! I do have a crystalinum that was once beautiful but lost all of its leaves, BUT LUCKILY I brought it back inside of a tote & she’s putting out a new leaf. 😁
So crazy i ordered pon and was waiting for it to be delivered ...i get a notification from ups that my package was destroyed and they threw away the contents....uhhh what?!? So the driver destroyed the bags? I dont get it. Couldnt get any answers from ups it was insane Lol im so lucky that the seller is able to resend to me i cant wait to try pon im def going to try it on my forgettii so thank you for posting this!
Super lovely collection! I hope they are doing well for you! I read that Crystal hope, silver blush and Dorayaki are one and the same species, but I can’t confirm it anywhere. Do you agree? I’d love to see how you propagate them.. Anthuriums stress me out on that department :/ Lastly, can you pin point why they get yellow and crispy on the edge? Take care and happy holidays ❤️❤️❤️
Wow, how do get leaves to grow big for plants like Magnificum and melanochrysum? My Magnificum seems to be juvenile. Its biggest leaf is half the size of yours. My melanochrysum is growing tiny leaves and even only half a leaf and not sure if there is something wrong with it (it is a baby as well). I have them maybe 10 inches under grow lights. What fertilizer do you recommend? I heard orchid fertilizer might be good for anthuriums.
The forgetii is the LEAST attractive of all the anthuriums. I hate the lack of a sinus takes away from it. I have no idea how you could pick the forgetii as your favorite over all the other anthuriums like Vietchii, Warocqueanum, Magnificum, Crystalinum, Regale or Clarinervium???????????????????????????? For me the forgetii doesn't even rank in the top fifty of rare house plants. But to each their own.

Be careful trying to breed an immature anthurium because it can set it back. I didn't see how mature yours was, just wanted to share the info 💜
