Thinking about it now, the dynamic of the different car types, the handling issues with certain cars, it could have worked as (maybe with mods, now.. huh, guys?)... * Muscle cars *can* have great power and acceleration.. ..but while still not handling great, they should at least not lose grip so easily and instead just don't corner as well as other cars.. * Tuners cars *can* have good to great handling.. ...but stock they could vary a bit more between speed or handling (depending on weight, drivetrain). * And exotics? Exotics cars *are the best* (out of the factory).. ..but they can also vary more wildly.. and they are a bit more specialized.. A look at the exotics: An Elise is very much all about handling, while a Murciélago is a 4-wheel-drive powerhouse monster all about relatively controllable speed, but with bad cornering due to weight (it was my experience at least. I remember struggling in the end back in the day with one, then doing better switching to the Gallardo, which, if slower, is at least LIGHTER). You would have to keep in mind what each car offers, you would not really need to upgrade everything to the max and yeah, not every car is going to be great, but the idea would be finding the one that suits you better. All about handling? Tuner + handling mods (OR, as I mentioned, an Elise). The "Ultimate form" of it would vary a bit depending on the model.. All about speed? Muscle Car.. yeah, you can add power tuning.. or maybe you're about speed, you get a muscle car.. but you focus on handling mods to balance the car out. When "maxing" one out, it will kinda go back to the stock "fast but shit at turning", and having a higher chance of losing grip due to excessive power. And maybe for exotics it could have had more of a focus on "appearances", on showing off wealth. Get less respect for driving a low-tier one without visual mods, and for higher-tier ones, maybe having them WITH exaggerated visual mods that don't suit them (if they don't require that for performance), it could get you less respect with the rivals. If we were still working with Most Wanted's requirements for facing the blacklist members, here for exotics they could have required more impressive cars, more expensive cars, with expensive "exotic" rims and parts (but still retaining a certain taste, depending on the model), so you could face-off against the exotic crews... Maybe.. TUNERS: FOCUS ON tricky track layouts | ADD Outrunning the cops | BONUS maybe add more canyon races outside of the "boss" duels. MUSCLE: FOCUS ON Races with long straights | ADD Speedtraps on highways | BONUS maybe add rolling races on highways too EXOTIC: All about that REP. BLing-ing!
Niice! I love this in-depth take on the cars, this will prove useful for a lot of people who are diving deeper into this game. It was a nice read even for me who just plays through old games casually. Thanks
For some reason I never put together that the rival's crew colors are red, yellow, green and blue until this video. Normally I was so bored with the story and stuff that I never paid attention.
NFS Carbon and Most Wanted are by far my favourite NFS games of the Entire Franchise, no debate whatsoever. These NFS games that I mention are like the symbol of Yin&Yang☯️
Kind of wished like 1/3 of the car roster wasn't uncustomizable and the car balance was actually good (though tbf there isn't a Black Box NFS title with a balanced car toster). Then again, I don't play vanilla Carbon anymore since there's like three good overhaul mods for it.
You must be a hardcore then. Exotic is considered the hardest car class in the game due to its bad torque power and even worse understeering. I main Muscle though.
@@ujangprakoso1894 I've just played this game way too much since it launched, I've beat it only using one of the three car types once for each and then once just with the Brera (couldn't do it with the RX-8 and I am absolute crap with muscle cars), I do recommend trying out the tier 1 Mercedes if you haven't, the extra gears make it really fun
I also used to main exotics back in the day (because of course Lambos and Porsches have to be way better than some stupid ass Nissan in my childhood brain), but nowadays I've come to the conclusion that Tuners are the best class from a gameplay and "fun" perspective, since they actually let you carry your momentum through the corners if you got em skillz. I rarely play the exotics now tbh, they have great top speed but other than that, like he said, they are kinda the worst of both worlds when it comes to handling and acceleration, and those are way more important than a high top speed on most tracks.
Muscle cars are underrated, they can make 1M+ points on drift event (I used Dodge Viper). And my go to car for endgame is Ford GT, if you are good driver, you can just takeover Darius in canyon duel on the last of the initial hairpins.
you can overtake darius with any car at the last few hairpins though, it's not just with muscles that it's possible to do so. he'll always take a wider turn there and give you a ton of space to overtake him.
@cxlciummmiv this could be true, however muscle cars ended up slipping too much when accelerating (playing only with arrows at that time) and were too difficult to set up for the corner. Ford Gt was also one of the exotic cars that also could put enough acceleration for takover.
In my opinion Carbon took everything from Underground 2 and Most Wanted and done is worse than it is. Most Wanted and Carbon physics are way different and not the same. In Most Wanted cars feels heavier and faster but in Carbon slow, goofy and half broken. The only thing Carbon did better than Most Wanted is tuning and that's end up here. Cars selection is as bad or not worse than in Most Wanted or Underground 2. Palmont City is small, uninspired and boring (Silverton but not all, San Juan and Canyons are the only interesting parts of this city). Cops sucks and are broken as hell (driving in shortcuts or knowing exactly where we are all the time even if we are on cooldown) not even mentioning traffics that appear in places they should not be at all and pursuit breakers that half of them are broken or not working as they should. Soundtrack is mostly bad or heavly mid but there are some nice ones. Graphic is ugly, not like I am defending most wanted yellow filter but here its just blinding. Characters are uninspired and generic same with bosses (Wolf typical rich men, Kenji typical asian drives only tuners and Angie aka wannabe bad girl like Letty from Fast and Furious) same goes for our crew members but Darius somehow works well in his role. Career is so short that you can finish up whole game in 3 hours. I dont need to say more. Everyone who thinks this game is good they must be seriously blind, Carbon is 4/10 Max. Avoid Carbon please.
@MidnightApex-ml6jc Like what? Mazda 3 that is bad Golf R32 that was replacement of Golf GTI from Most Wanted? 240SX, Skyline R34, G35, 350Z (Underground 2) Camaro (Most Wanted) Charger (Underground Rivals) are not new rest are not worth mentioning because they are trash and this overpowered Z06. LeMans Quattro, LP640, M3 GTR, CCX, Zonda F, Eclipse GSX, IS 300, Camaro Concept, Europa S, GT500 or MR2 are not even available to drive in free roam unless you have modded profile so I dont know where is the fun of having those cars if you barely can enjoy them, oh I forgot Carbon was very first NFS to introduce us concept of DLC (so this move says it all). Besides where I said something about deciding what everybody things hmm? I said "In my opinion" at the very beginning. So before another Carbon fanboy will start banging their keyboard because they can not accept the fact that their game is not good as it seems, learn how to read and do the research. Most Wanted and Underground 2 are also not perfect games but way better than Carbon. Hot Pursuit 2010 is the best NFS of them all "In my opinion".
For me it's the sheer fact that as much as I love the game, because I do, It's just objectively not a well produced one. @@metimdz I think the main problem is that they are basically a carbon-copy (no pun intended) of the MW chases, the only difference being the map, the time of day and the lack of helicopters or any actual goals, giving you absolutely no reason to boot up Carbon to have a police chase, if you also have MW installed.
