It's an absolute myth that Emery failed at PSG btw. Won the domestic treble, which is only France but had never been done before, and has the highest points per game in PSG's history
Buvey makes a great point at the start. It speaks to Ange’s story. He’s a victim of geography. There is a bias where the European football establishment view anyone from Asia as inferior, regardless of the fact that he’s won four titles in Australia, a title in Japan where he doesn’t speak the language; 5 trophies at Celtic; an international trophy, the Asian Cup & 25 years of coaching experience; more than any other manager in the premier league.

Emery vs Arteta is definitely the spiciest topic in premier league managers. I think that people don't talk about the pressure at top clubs right. Calling it "pressure" kind of hides the actual difficulties. Man U is probably the highest pressure club in the world in terms of Manager expectations and having to deal with superstars and a stubborn board. Maybe Emery is worse than Arteta at getting a team of superstars to listen. But when teams work with Emery he is definitely a tactician who can take wins in knockout stages.
The Ball Knowledge here is genuinely shocking! These guys flip everything into suiting their agenda. Just say it how it is lads🤣🤣In terms of entertainment great as always!
You have to remember Emery's failure to manage the big players at Arsenal. That's where Arteta has had his biggest success. He removed all of those bad eggs. He would not do a better job at Chelsea or Manchester United, he is suited to the 4-10 teams
Arteta was allowed to finish 8th two years in a row. Emery had a toxic team he needed time to clear out and was sacked for finishing higher. Arteta has been given far more rope than Emery had and has benefitted from a better structure under Kronke and Edu than Emery had. It's just objectively true.
Emery didn't win anything in his first 10 years managing, I'll bet you didn't even know that.😉 Arteta has only been a manager 5 after a 3 year rebuild and already has a cup under his belt but expected to have won more than Emery with 15 years less managing time. He's already slapped Emery's Villa away this season when it mattered. If Emery wins something at Villa within the same 5 year period as Arteta, who is already expected to win the PL and CL, then we can compare. 😉
I honestly don't think Emery would have succeeded at Arsenal. Not because he's a bad manager, I think he's great but because of the environment he walked into, the culture at the club had fallen big time towards the end of Wenger's reign, the amount of toxicity in the squad and anyone following Wenger almost seemed destined to fail, like Moyes after Fergie. I only think Arteta was allowed the time he was given was because of his prior links to the club. I'm glad things worked out with us and Arteta and that Emery found success at Villareal and is doing well at Villa
@@helicoptersrkool And what did Arteta do last season against Villa apart from drop 6 points? All they needed was a draw out of those 2 games and they win the league, so Emery wins that one. Emery could give away 2 of his European Titles to Arsenal and they still wouldn't have more than him as a whole club. Also, he never failed at PSG. He did the League and Cup double with them, so that narrative is bollocks. Arteta needs to get over the line in the league or he'll get "Gareth Southgate" syndrome - There's only so long you can be a "nearly" merchant before questions get asked.
Arteta would not perform as well as he did taking over as he later did. But he would have done better. Ppl forget, when emery was fired we were around 12th in the league. We had gone some 8 games or so with no win.

Emery pulled up to the emirates last year & pulled Arteta’s pants down. Talking about pressure, Arteta was in a title race and folded twice. Done fuck all in the champions league. Spent a fortune and his biggest achievement is finishing 2nd, which Jose and Ole did with an even worse United team.
Arteta has been under pressure 3 times in his career. First, when they were competing for UCL in their second season, and they choked at Spurs. Second, when they were 8 points clear in the previous season, and they choked, and then last season, when they had the title in their hands by drawing at City, and then choked against Villa, the very Emery they are crying about. In terms of handling pressure, Arteta has failed to do so every single time. Does that Fulham supporter not watch the football he claims no one else watches. To put Arteta even in the same conversation, is an utter disrespect to the sport.

31:00 rory is right for once. No matter how many accolades pep collects and how he implemented the modern methodical style of football. Ferguson was one of a kind that will never be topped. Brought a 3rd division side fighting relegation to division one champs in 3 season. Then his European and domestic success at aberdeen that is second to none in Scotland. AND THEN, his whole mancherster united career and being able to maintain the top level of success for that long. Pep genuinely could never, and especially in the future, his manchester city success will surely be tarnished soon enough.
You could just as easily say Fergie could never do what Pep has done? What you’re doing is holding Pep superiority against him. Pep literally took a barca side, which the year before were failing. Had one of its worst campaigns in their history and won the sextuple in his first year of management. The first manager to win the treble in Spain, beating Fergie in a final btw. At Man City, he did what Fergie literally said was impossible to do (the domestic treble). It’s a lot closer than most people think. What you’re implying is disingenuous and clearly agenda driven.
@renerowe14715 you dont even know my affiliations to understand where a bias can form from. Pep definitely has to be given dues, but lest we forget; the barca team had prodigies such as iniesta, xavi, messi, busquets etc. And saying he inherited a horrendous squad is lunacy. Then at bayern, he has been regarded as ruining german football due to his methodical play and won no european silverware with the european giants. And alas at City, he definitely inherited an endless budget along with already a league winning team. He has been gifted with world class players at every destination hes been at and before you say he turned them into world class, some maybe yes, but majorly not. Have you seen the squad that fergie won the league with lastly? Pep genuinely could never do that and would probably admit that himself.
@@mfcchris499 I don’t need to know your affiliation cos it’s clear you have an agenda against Pep lol. Pep has nothing to prove to anyone. Saying Fergie is better because of Aberdeen and what he won there is the most ridiculous thing ever. If Fergie so clear of him, why is Pep responsible for him losing two CL finals? You’re literally holding Pep superiority against him. I’ve just told you Fergie couldn’t do what Pep has done just like you’re telling me “Pep could never do what Fergie has done” and you can’t accept it 🤣 What you’re doing is acting like anyone could do what Pep has done with the teams he has built which is disingenuous and clearly agenda driven because nobody has, that’s why he is regarded as an all timer and to some if not most, the greatest. It's the time taken to get our club back up and running where we belong. Arteta is a tit. The pressure of Managing Villa is far more pressure than what Emery has done before but he still gets the cigar out and does his touchline dances like it's just easy. PSG no longer attracts the same media attention & shirt sales have declined since the departures of Messi & Neymar. The club and Ligue 1 have lost their bargaining power in sponsorship negotiations and overseas TV deals. Technically he is on par with Pep, yes....he is. When we destroyed Man City in the only show on earth to do so ever to Pep....that says it all....go on....watch it back. Wolves played us recently and suffocated our midfield knowing that if they didn't the score line would have been like that of a cricket match. Unai was 1-0 down so he did his thing bringing on our wide players to technically out do poor Gary the novice with his limited knowledge and the midfield opened up like the fucking Dead sea opened by Jesus!! The metric of their CV on a current top 10 manager (based on form) doesnt make any sense.

FACTS
You have to remember Emery's failure to manage the big players at Arsenal. That's where Arteta has had his biggest success. He removed all of those bad eggs. He would not do a better job at Chelsea or Manchester United, he is suited to the 4-10 teams
Arteta was allowed to finish 8th two years in a row. Emery had a toxic team he needed time to clear out and was sacked for finishing higher.
Arteta has been given far more rope than Emery had and has benefitted from a better structure under Kronke and Edu than Emery had. It's just objectively true.
It was night and day, there was a clear shift in everything when Arteta came in, it was honestly getting pathetic under Emery, everyone had given up.
@@helicoptersrkool Arteta won that FA Cup with Emerys team. Since he built his own team… 0 trophies.

@@JJJJJ269he’s also turned arsenal into a European giant
He’s not better than emery
@@Deathmare235 European giant?!?😂😂😂😂 can’t even win the europa league, let alone the champions league.
I hope Thomas Frank never takes the Spurs job - Levy is the undertaker and Spurs is the graveyard for managers. On Emery - Buvey is spot on: NO ONE has succeeded in Europe with PSG because it's a squad of individuals. Arteta is valued on potential, but he's won bollocks thus far.
Bobby Robson: "Morning Bobby"
Brian Robson: "You're Bobby, I'm Brian"
So many great annecdotes surround Sir Bobby. Rest in Peace.
We're all playing chess, but Rory's out here playing Checkers.
Not sure what this whole perception of Arteta is all about? He’s won an Fa cup? ETH has won 2 trophies in 2 years at Utd after taking over a shitshow and Arteta (he also took over a bit of shambles tbf) has been in charge of Arsenal for like 6 years now?
Arteta is showing clear signs of progress as Arsenal manager. ETH isn't. Yes Ten Hag has lucked his way to a couple of trophies but there's a reason why United fans have been disgusted with their team in recent years whereas Arsenal fans have been very content or even happy. One team is clearly moving in the right direction.
@@tomzknight7412 not saying United are not in a tough position because they do and they have a lot of problems. They have a lot of ground to make up on the likes of city Liverpool Chelsea etc. but the point of elite sports is to win. Something Arteta has yet to do. They can be “nearly” and “right direction” fc as much as they like. Warra trophy
@@Stefanossssssssssss I guess there is where we disagree. If elite sport is all about winning and ETH has 2 trophies in 2 seasons then why are so many United fans unhappy with their team, why are they miserable 9/10 game weeks? Fans love to say it's all about trophies but it really isn't, performance matters. What a fan with a season ticket has to endure for 20+ games matters. I would rather watch a team that plays good football and fights for the league than a team that is mid table quality but wins a Carabao every now and then personally. (I'm not an Arsenal fan btw)
@@tomzknight7412 Na I get what you’re saying mate, we see it different but I can certainly respect your opinion. Every Arsenal fan I speak to is a lot more content than any Utd fan I speak to 😂
Cant wait for Buvey to start watching EFL
Sometimes buvey is the only one with a brain. Slot has already made Liverpool one of the best teams in the league. ETH has united a mid tabe team. Embarrassing to put him above slot. Battered eth at home says enough.
I understand the argument for emery over arteta, but arteta has done a great job rebuilding arsenal. Also his first job all the other top 10 manager have loads of experience
Were they high while doing this? They said it's based off of premier league but went on to justify their rankings based on trophies they've won outside of the premier league...
The metric of their CV on a current top 10 manager (based on form) doesnt make any sense. It should only factor their acheivements in the prem and how their clubs have performed under their management. E.g. Ten Hag should never sniff being in top 10, hes a managaer that gets berated every week for how bad he is yet hes in all your top 10s. Hence the metric of their successes in other leagues is irrelevant.
Bro is saying it’s more impressive to manage a “big club” versus winning titles with lesser clubs
Nah Rory killed me this time 😂😂😂
Buvey continually saying Arsenal were "battered" by Bayern when Arsenal were better in both legs is the most unsurprising thing said here.
The premise at the start set by Buvey is utter waffle..
It's a shame Rory is a Chelsea fan he hates Chelsea football club
"Harry Redknapp" is a legendary club moment
If unai didn't get villa into the champions league no one would be putting him this high the glaze is crazy
Rory says the hardest thing to do is winning trophies regardless the level yet absolutely dismisses Ange for winning trophies lol
How did Rory not get Buvey's point in the beginning? Just being dense for no reason.
Reeks of a posh Tory thinking poor people have the same chance that they have
Winning the Asia cup is far harder than winning the Europa league, just because of the probability and level of each team. Also, Ange achieved more in his first season than Arteta did at his first season, if we are using that argument.
Not having Ten Hag in a list is wild. United are playing shit but he's won more trophies in England than everyone in the list apart from Pep. Also bossed the Eredivisie with Ajax.
The levels of football knowledge on display here is dazzling. Not one of them remember Arsenal reaching the CL final 18 years ago.
Buvey going off about structure and executives not helping a club yet the only reason his clubs won anything is because they got their back room in order and broke all the rules is hilarious
What a shock the debate kicks off when arteta is mentioned
The hate for Arteta by buvey and Rory is unprecedented. It’s his first managerial role and he’s going toe to toe with one of the best managers of all time! I take arteta any day
Saying arteta is better than emery is sooo crazy to me.. 29:30 also he went very quite after that question 😂
