  • It's time to delve into the magical world of one of the greatest composers in history: Frédéric Chopin. Your favorite piano teacher Lisa Witt is here to teach you how to play simpler but stunning arrangements of Chopin's most famous piano pieces.
Chopin was a Polish composer and pianist of the Romantic era, known for his technical skill and poetic musical style. He composed almost exclusively for solo piano, and his music remains some of the most beloved and enduring in the classical canon. Chopin's works are renowned for their emotional depth, technical brilliance, and subtle beauty, making them a joy to play and listen to.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to play three of Chopin's most famous pieces in simplified arrangements that still capture the essence of that beauty. These pieces are perfect for beginners who want to start exploring the world of classical music or for experienced players who want to brush up on their Chopin repertoire.
Lisa will guide you through each piece, breaking down the notes and providing tips and tricks to help you play with confidence and grace. By the end of the lesson, you'll have the tools you need to impress your friends and family with your newfound piano skills

I have to thank Pianote and Lisa for your wonderful and engaging teaching style... I've learned Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata thanks to your lessons, and these three Chopin pieces are next. The emotions that are stirred by listening to these beautiful pieces is one thing... the emotions stirred by playing these pieces is next level... I keep coming back to pianote for my lessons because Lisa really is such a wonderful teacher... I'm sure every student here feels like she is speaking solely to them... Thank You so much from one very happy older (58) piano student

  • @andersnordby

Great video! I love Chopin's music, but it's difficult to play, so thanks for making simplified versions of some. Prelude in E minor was actually the first song I taught myself after having bought a second hand Casio Celviano AP-450 digital piano a few years ago. I play acoustic guitar, but I've never learnt the piano. I heard the Prelude in a Remington Steele episode (Laura plays it on a grand piano Remington has bought for her) and wanted to play it. So I got notes and looked up tutorial videos on how to play it. In about a month with daily practice (about 15-30 minutes each day) I started to get the hang of it. Now I play it fluently (if perhaps not beautifully ;) ) So I think it is possible for beginners to learn the more complicated version with three fingers on the right hand, especially if one has practiced this simplified version. They are all very beautiful in my opinion, and I really appreciate all your videos which has taught me a lot :)

I started playing piano about 18 months ago. Nocturne in Eb was a goal of mine. I learned an easy version but it eventually was not satisfying to me. I decided to learn the original version. It took me 2-3 months but I can now play it. I play it EVERYDAY and try to make it more expressive now that I know the mechanics of the piece. I really recommend learning the original because if you’re like me, you will love playing it everyday till forever. Every thing worthwhile takes a lot of time and dedication. 😊

I saw this headline and it immediately caught my interest. Then I noticed these are all arrangements. One can find beginner arrangements for most (not all) pieces. Something that’ll really help beginners is learning the keyboard and accomplished note reading so one can play without looking at the keyboard.
