I am surprised after Gordies passing and the hip being on the news so much that there haven't been comments made lately. I love the Canadian Content of this channel. Pretty decent guitar tones for a lesson.
Really helped me out. Thanx, dude. Most people way down here haven't heard of The Tragically Hip. Canada has a lot of great bands that just don't make it south of the Mason Dixon line. Sad. I really like Blue Rodeo, Matt Mays, Cowboy Junkies, Metric, Canteen Knockout and many more. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
We love yall down there too my friend id love to live in the music mesa of real rocknroll , but its nice to know people with such a fine musical pedigree get us too....cheers man!
@@imannonymous7707 It's not all that anymore. Mainstream is all schlock. I listen to CBC3 a lot while driving. Also found some great music in the "Weirdsville" soundtrack long ago. You're not missing much here.
@@benallmark9671 Born in Florida, moved to North Carolina a while back. Worked and lived around a good bit of the planet. I've found a lot of good Canadian music on CBC3 and film soundtracks. My playing style is all over the map. My very first faves in high school were Rush and Mahogany Rush. I think all that cold weather pushes y'all inside to practice and jam. Whatever it is, it works.
@@donaldledbetter2412 the Hip are from my hometown in Ontario. They’re first 4 or 5 albums are the soundtrack of my life. You should check early 00”s stuff from Big Sugar and Big Wreck. Two amazing Canadian rock bands that I grew up watching in the Ontario bar that absolutely kicked ass ! If you decide to go down that rabbit hole I’d be more then happy to point you to the gems. An older but other awesome Canadian band who you might know is April Wine.
I shouldve sent my thanks long ago...jeez this one is tricky, usualy i can nick blues licks..but even with your tutotial my knuckles are bustin lol good work!
Great job....the Hip are probably the best band not a lot of people know about outside of Canada and Western NY. If you are ever bored.....a Three Pistols Guitar Lesson would be great!
I do like that song, but I've never even tried to play it. I'll see how things go (I have trouble learning some songs). If I can actually play it, then I'll add it to the list. Thanks for posting.
12 years later 2021 and this is still a needed lesson lol. We have a gig soon and need the solo thanks

is it just standard tuning??
what settings are you using for this?
Why did you decide to play the b on the third string and not the b string?
You play the lick better and cleaner than anyone
Please do Grace, Too!
Cool , I played a guitar cover on my channel , tell me what you think . Thanks.
