A goldilocks lake. Not too big. Not too small. Just right.

Exactly. We like that you can drive for awhile and still not be at the end, but it's not so big you get swamped by huge boats. We like the right arm are the best. when it turns east/west because it's always smoother up there and seems more remote and pretty. I'm already missing it, and winter hasn't even started yet.

Hi, Yassir! Thank you for the amazing comment. Comments like these are why I make these videos. If I can help someone out, even in the slightest way, it totally makes my day and is worth it. Thank you, again!
The Cruiser VX is the perfect ski. It's fast, but not crazy fast. It gets great mileage and rides incredibly well. For us, it's the perfect ski.
The mount system is by Ram Mounts. I included the phone mount too just so you can see everything we use. For the cameras, I use 2 GoPro Hero 11 Black cameras. I mount one to the WaveRunner, and the other I use handheld with a "floaty" handle. One of the keys to good video is blocking wind noise, and I use the Windsalyer HSU - link to that in the description for that.
I hope this yelps. If you have anymore questions, just reach out. Thanks again for the nice compliment.

Hello again Mark and I found another video to keep in my files. This is newly retired Gil in Massachusetts without a boat, until next spring or early summer. Your boating videos are the best around and I'm keeping track of the places you go and I will follow your travels to the letter. I like the way you explain all the islands and the water conditions on all your trips. I have Lake George and Winni on the list with the places to stay at and where to launch your boat. If you ever write a book on your travels, I will be the first in line to buy your book. Thank you for all the information. Gil and my wife Gail, no kidding it's true LOL

Thank you, GIl. I don't think I'd have the patience to write a book, but I do enjoy explaining things. I know my videos are longer than some, but I like to explain about things so people can decide if it's worth visiting. If someone isn't interested, they can always skip over the "long" parts. The New England Boat Show is coming up in January in Boston. I've never been to that one, but I've been to others. They're great for walking around and dreaming and to see what's out there. Even if you buy used, it's still good to see the new boats and see if they really differ from the older ones.
Instead of a book I did create a Google map that shows the boat ramps in New England and New York that allow personal watercraft. Because it's geared for PWCs, there are some lakes missing that allow motorboats and not PWCs, but I think most lakes that allow PWCs allow motorboats. I find myself using it all the time to look for places to go. I'd guess it's missing 10% of the lakes that allow motorboats. Some up in Maine in the Allagash Wilderness Area for instance and a few others. I separated into lakes that are under 1000 acres and over except in the states where most of the lakes are under 1000 like CT, MA and RI. Check it out if you're looking for places to visit.

Awesome video! Don't think that warning you got was related to the "Low Fuel" - if so, the fuel level segment would turn orange and blink (yours still had two blue bars). Based on the manual, the red exclamation point warning is related to "communication errors, exceeding the maintenance intervals, and so on." It says to push the OK button to 'display a description of the warning.' Any chance it was related to operating the engine for more than 50 hours since the last oil change?

Hey Pinecone, quick question - do you know what the left gauge is that's like the fuel gauge but on the left side? On the FX it's the trim level, but the VX doesn't have trim. It seems to be related to how much gas is being applied because it goes up and down with the throttle, but it doesn't appear to be RPM. When we first got the WaveRunners, the "needle" would go all the way to the top and all the bars would fill up, but around 15-20 hours, it started only filling up half way. The machines were serviced according to the manual, and the dealer doesn't even know what that gauge does. Any thoughts?

Hi Pinecone. Thanks for watching and the nice comment. We weren't overdue on the oil change and had reset the "maintenance minder" when we did the last one. I'm rewriting this comment because it appears to be a real thing. I found a page that addresses the FX model, but it could likely affect other models, and they haven't issued a fix. topboatmag.com/yamaha-fx-fuel-gauge-problem/
There's also a class action lawsuit being brought against Yamaha in the US because of the problem. watercraftzone.com.au/yamaha-waverunner-class-action-us-faulty-fuel-gauge-buzzer/
That article addresses the FX, but it seems like it could affect other models too.
For us, the issue happens every time the gas gauge gets down to around 2 bars. It usually happens to Matt first because he drives more aggressively and uses more gas, and then it happens to me 20-30 minutes later. Every time we check, we usually have 8-10 gallons left.
As we continue riding around, the bar goes to 1 and then eventually starts blinking and turns orange, though I don't know exactly when that happens. If we were to pull into a marina and get gas, the exclamation point would go out, and everything would return to normal until the gauge gets down to 2 bars again. It also goes out if we were to get gas on the trailers and then use them in the future.

@@MarkDHall We got ours (gently used 2022 VX Limited) only few weeks ago and for the longest time (6 rides so far) I always assumed it displayed the RPMs. But now that you have mentioned the throttle, it may very well be it! I literally just came back from two hours on the water (10 miles from the boat ramp we suddenly lost an ability to get any faster than 6 - 7 mph so we ended up doing "No Wake Mode" all the way back.. it was a very long 2 hours, let me tell you.. at home inspection revealed a small stick of wood past the grate but in front of the propeller!) and while rinsing the ski I certainly saw some correlation between how hard you press it and how many bars light up. I was unwilling to go 'full throttle' on just hose water but will try to test it again tomorrow (need to go out this last time to make sure the removing the stick fixed our issue). The manual does NOT describe that gauge at all!

@@MarkDHall Wow, that's crazy! We ended up with low fuel warning once but it behaved according to the manual: one bar (in orange) flashing and warning chime (which we are yet to figure out how to successfully mute; when it happened to us we were literally by the boat ramp so it was not a big issue). No idea why the exclamation point keeps coming up; in the manual low fuel is NOT one of the reasons that should trigger that particular response. Wondering whether your local dealer would offer any acceptable solutions. Good luck!

@@pinecone76 First time it happened to us we were about 10 miles from the ramp, and Matt wondered if he'd make it back, but then a few minutes later mine started acting up. At least with the VX, we don't have it as bad as the FX. We can check the fuel used info in the computer, and it shows correctly, but the FX resets that info every time the engine stops, so those owners have no idea how much they've used. Every time I've checked it, I've had lots of gas left, and filling the tank always confirms that too. We asked the dealer about it, but they didn't have an answer.
