Thank you for making this video. I made a shibori t shirt in my high-school art class years ago and decided to make some shirts etc for my family. I didn't know the exact dye my teacher used so wasn't sure what to buy. I almost bought the Rit indigo dye but after watching your video I knew I would have been disappointed at the turn out.
I took a RIT dye class from RIT. After dyeing we were taught to wrap in plastic wrap, microwave in 30 second increments until very hot; pull out with tongs & rinse with Hot water & Dawn or like until it ran clear; then was in machine
This is something I have wanted to do, so I’m super happy I found your professional comparison video! They all look nice, but I must agree on the Indigo. I want to play with textile designs since I sew a lot. There is a certain elegance, detail and richness to the indigo color variations. ❤
Thank you for posting the only video on youtube that shows a RIT tie dyed shirt post-wash!! I'm trying to figure out how much it bleeds in the wash / if it's suitable for crisp designs, and all of the videos online show the shirts post-rinse then conveniently leave that part out.
Hey I want to dye a 100% cotton denim rug made of a bunch of recycled denim sewn together so there's a lot of different blues, I want to dye it into a black colorway and I was wondering if it's possible to dye it and obtain different shades of black? I'm thinking since there's a lot of different shades of blue on this rug I might be able to dye it and obtain different shades of black. Also which products/technic would you use to do it?

Love the indigo! Thanks for this- it's so interesting to see the different results ♥
You're welcome! I also love the indigo.

I have been using the Jacquard Indigo kit for many years but my last three batches didn't work for some reason. Have you ever had a problem with it?
Really?! That’s super weird. It has not happened to me. Where did you get it? Maybe the ingredients were old? Not sure
Indigooooo 💙
I agree!
