  • I used the left over dye in my tie dye kit (after doing some tie dye) to do some really fun marbling. I mixed the dyes up with some Barbasol shaving cream (with aloe). I spread the shaving cream out on the drop cloth and mixed in the colored shaving cream. Then I got to marble it and make the pattern. I love the way my shirt came out. It was a tired old shirt and now I can wear it for a lot longer. Check out my Marble Dyeing Playlist here: • MARBLE DYEING

      @@OnyxArtStudios Ac..tu...a...ly, you are replying to a novice in this art but! I did a marble dress with a similar fabric used in the video, the RiT all-purpose die in apple green, cloud design, and it truly came out spectacular. The process was dyeing with a clean and moist fabric in a plastic cat tray I found, crunching it up into big clouds, adding about 1/4 of dye into a 16oz plastic bottle adding water (less if a lighter shade is wanted) then squirting the dye on both sides of the fabric (the best way possible) cover with plastic, wait an hour of setting, rinse, and dry. What your time and efforts did, for me, was to summon the creativity within and get it done as I was somewhat fearful of it. I do appreciate all you do. Spectacular day to you and your loved ones. :D

    If you have to go to a laundromat for one item like that pick up one of those little tiny washing machines I had one in my RV that can wash a couple of shirts underwear you just hook it up to the kitchen sink and it'd be perfect for things like this that would ruin a whole load of laundry

    • @OnyxArtStudios

      I let the dye sit on the shirt overnight to get into the fabric. Then I rinsed with cold and then washed on hot and dried on hot. You can mix your own powder dyes just like you would for tie dye. The kit I have on my site is just add water.

    If you stretched the shirt on a piece of shirt-shaped cardboard, you wouldn't have so many blank spots, I'd say.

    I'm just beginning to design dye art on clothes. This blew me away! It is so incredibly beautiful! I already have the person that I'm going to use this method for and I can't wait to do some practice shirts! I can't thank you enough for this video!💜

    This is cool. Can this be done on Polyester?

    • @OnyxArtStudios
      @OnyxArtStudios  3 года назад

      I've never tried this method with poly. Polyester blends (at least 60 cotton and 40 polyester) usually will give very light results.

    Hi,a good coloring recommendation in your opinion?

    • @OnyxArtStudios
      @OnyxArtStudios  3 года назад +1

      I think you could do any color combination. It would be cool do colors that appear in natural marble too.
