To get a more saturated color you basically need to use the whole bottle. Also you have to wash your clothes before dyeing. Dirt spots will stand out when dyed.
Thanks for the heads-up.
If you need to remove any dye bleeding from your Converse sides and toe use a Magic Eraser. It is what I use to clean up the soles of shoes before I resell them and it works really well.
Hi, non american here. Can I ask what Magic Eraser is? Is it like a sponge orr
It is a type of a sponge that has a very, very fine grit to it so it can gently remove marks from walls or other objects without damaging them. It is called the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.@@GioGio-fq1vl
@GioGio-fq1vl Magic erasers are a a kind of foam sponge that works as an abrasive for cleaning
@@24Blueorchids Thank you! I just googled it. I'll def be getting one.
I always redye stuff with the rit dye for synthetic fabrics to get seams and stitching to match if they dont take with rit dye for natural fabrics.
Those sweat pants would be so cute with some band patches over the stains though 😭
Run the washer Empty after you wash the dyed clothes
Running dark towels works too, it helps to absorb any extra dye
The different shades you are getting are because of the mix of natural and un-natural fibers in the clothes. Polyester dyes differently and sets differently. Salt sets cotton and vinegar is used to set poly fabrics.
Love the dress and the shoes- going to try this for sure. Also, how do get your hair so healthy and shiny haha?! Looks great :)
You could tie dye the sweats with more concentrated brown and black
Damn yea feel like thats her best option for those sweat pants
What fabric are these clothes? If they contain any synthetic fibres the dye won’t take
youre beautiful.
Wanting to do this w two brand new white T-shirts I just ordered bc I don’t trust myself w white but it was the only option available and I loved the graphics. But I’m scared to wreck them lmao i dont want it to be blotchy or anything. Maybe I’ll just rock them white until I inevitably stain them and then try dying them 🤷♂️ maybe just dying them black would be easiest tho idk 🤷♂️
Damn yea was thinking maybe a blue, beige, olive green or brown for the white t shirts but i may just go w black for the least amount of consequences. Its what i had wished the original tees were coloured as anyway. And even if the stitching stays white id like that. But thinking white tee to black is my best easiest safest bet. If snyone can weigh in with any advice thatd be amazing
So do u think the only reason the sweatpants were blotchy was bc u fucked w the mix afterwards? Bc otherwise they look great everywhere else and id love to dye my white tees brown rather than black. But thinking black may just be way safer
yes 1000000%!! if i didn't add the rest of he dye in once the clothes were in i don't think anything would've been splotchy so def a rookie mistake😂😂 as long as you have your dye mixture ready to go and mix the clothes around often it should come out great!
Hi, I have a question I am trying to bring back the color of my navy chinos, I wanted to use this rit dye, my question is after you have done it whenever you washed your clothes again did it leak the color?
there's a dye fixative that they have thats supposed to help lock the dye in, i didn't use it when i did the brown and it didn't bleed onto other clothes but everything faded quite a bit 😭 im gonna need to redo some pieces and try the fixative to see if it helps!
@@symphoniecameron please make a video when the time comes.
How to dye brown to black ? Thanks in advance
Not stained beautiful
Did you use the fixative? I bought just the dye to dye a sweatshirt and I don’t feel like going back to the store
i didn't and i greatly regret it, everything has faded a lot so i really need to redo it! i'm hoping the fixative helps out with that😭
@@symphoniecameron noted, thanks good luck girlie !
Can I dye selected parts only. Like the side pockets of a bag?
If they're made of a different material, maybe. Synthetics don't usually dye in all-purpose/natural dye.
Otherwise, you'd have to remove the pockets and reattach them after dying.

When you try to dye a green stuff with brown result could be a little bit of chaotic 🤭
doing this with a thrifted jacket it’s so stained and i hope it gets covered up
welp, did it?
