Hi mate, good question. It was a great van but it’s my only vehicle and not the best for commuting. Although reliability was on point. I do want to get another retro vehicle to convert maybe a Hilux or a Suzuki Carry.
Not 100% sure if it is the same part number but the process will be the same. I had a look at some pics of the facelift model and the engine bay and the engine cover look the same as my 2005 D4D.
Toyota say to change it every 74k or 5 years which ever comes first. If your belt warning light has been setup correctly it should come on 70k after your last belt change to let you know to change it. If I’m doubt or if you don’t have history on the vehicle change it to be safe.
Thanks Louis, thanks for the excellent video. Just changed the belt, tensioner and pulley. Just removed the air duct and worked away, fairly easy job.
Excellent. I have to say, probably the simplest and best described vid of this on the RUclips
Top vid! Save yourself 300 sheets! 😊
Great Video, really easy to follow
Fantastic! Been looking for this vid for ages!
Glad I could help!
Brilliant video I’ll do mine now straight forward ,many thanks 😊
Glad it helped you, these old Hiace’s are nice to work on.
Thank you for the video it's really helpful
Thanks so much for making this video helped me do mine
Glad it helped :)
very informative video, well. done
It was easier to get the new belt back on by turning the camshaft half a tooth clockwise from timing marks first
Nice info
Glad it helped.
Great video 👍 why you didn’t change the tension roller ?
It looked in good condition, but yeah could of. Easy to do at a later date though as the timing belt is the harder bit to do.
One thing i have to say you didn't show was once timing belt was installed you crank over the engine twice by hand
That's just to check there's no interference if you are unsure of yourself
Hey dude how come you got rid of this and got the proace?

Would the 2007 facelift model the same ?
Not 100% sure if it is the same part number but the process will be the same. I had a look at some pics of the facelift model and the engine bay and the engine cover look the same as my 2005 D4D.
Are there any symptoms to let you know you need to change the belt? Like any noise or sound the engine would make? Thanks.
