Frankie Dettori feels 'freer' in the US than in England

Italian jockey Frankie Dettori has admitted he feels “freer” in California than he does in England.
Dettori recently abandoned retirement plans, choosing to continue his racing career in the US, and is set to make the move to California at the end of the year.
“I feel a bit freer than I am in England,” Mr Dettori revealed to Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
“I don’t want to sound spoiled but okay, I’m famous on the race track, but I can step out, paint my toenails and wear a mini skirt and nobody cares.
“In Europe you get judged for what you wear, or what you do - you are always looking behind yourself. That’s the difference.”

Sorry to see less of Frankie in Europe. Uks loss is US gain. God protect him from injury for the next 2 years. I dont understand the snipey negative comments below - probably just gamblers not riders who appreciate his artistry and unique showmanship. Sorry Frankies Dad was so jealous, miserable/emotionally unavailable

Big fan of Frankie. He has been great for the sport. And you're idiotic to say otherwise.
A lot of people are annoyed he hasn't retired as he stated a year ago, but when you're 53 yrs old you just don't know whether you will have the physical strength to give it your all in 1 years time, and then you find you do and you are in fact still hungry. So what do you do? Go again I say, which is what he is doing.
Too much cynicism out there.
