People do not clean this way, the best that will happen is getting grease into your plumbings.
Instead pour hot water + vinegar and clean with a sponge brush. Then wait til the mixture cool down. All the grease will get on the top or the side. Use a silicon spatula to get all and throw into the bin. The water should no more contain grease if it's well done.

If you clean the fryer after every use, it will never be too difficult to clean. Water and electricity do NOT go together.

Why not put soap and warm water on the frying container and let sit for a while before brushing it off with non-abrasive sponge?

hi, i've been going around on these vids specifically to warn people not to do this. please do not listen to influencers doing tiktoks and shorts telling you to fill your electric air fryer with water and soapy chemicals and turn it on. i don't know who is teaching you all to do this but it's extremely dangerous. just soak the tray and grill for 3 minutes and scrub it in the sink.

I use coffee cans for bacon grease but I dump soapy grease down the drain all the time. What are you supposed to do with soapy grease then?

Don't do it. Water will be blown all over the place. The foam will be blaster through the machine. She cooked it for 20m on 200°, yet no steam comes off of it... Water won't go hotter than 100°c. Pour in boiling water, twice if you wish, with a good grease removed, oven cleaner, dish soap amd give it time.

I put some draino down the drain, let it sit for 20 minutes and then run hot water for 20 minutes once every 3 months or so to counteract that.

This is a pretty bad idea. You're vaporizing your soap which will buildup and create residue in the upper chamber. Just let hot water sit in the sink.

so water and soap vapors go where? moisture is harmful to electronics< more especially their connections.
