I’m 73 and I’m learning from you, after all we did not have Dawn power wash or scrub daddy when we learned to clean. These new methods also seem to be less labor intensive and I am looking for easier ways to clean now that I’m a senior. Thanks!
As a newly minted single father in middle age, I can't thank you enough for so many of your cleaning tips and tricks. I have known some of them for decades, but there are parts of the house I've never personally cleaned before. When I need to do something new, and I feel a need to get some advice, there's one experienced cleaner who never lets me down. thank you, Brandon, for your good instructions.
Dawn power wash is the BEST thing any company ever put out. It's great cleaning oil off of walls too without ruining them. It also works in your all over the house (like the bathroom). It's great for cleaning. It does leave a residue so make sure you rinse EXTRA well and use a tiny bit at a time.
You just saved my airfryer!! I was just thinking it needed cleaning and grabbing my oven cleaner. Would have probably done it tomorrow with my Sunday cleaning!!
I add washing up liquid ( dish soap) and hot water straight away after cooking, let it sit for half hour then just rinse. Mine is spotless. Never cook twice without cleaning the grease will stick to it
Finally someone talking about cleaning the air fryer. I agree with a previous comment Dawn would be happy to have you sponsor them or you be in their commercial
It seems like this would also work great on toaster ovens. I have a Breville toaster oven and when I was looking on how to clean it in the manual it’s specifically says do not use a cleaner because it’s too harsh for the surfaces.
Thanks. I had just started using my air fryer again. I am glad that you showed more than one type of air fryer. Now I am going to look for your video on how to clean a toaster.
I think it's a pretty bad idea to fill up the basket then turn on the air fryer. These machines use a fan to cook the food, so the water could get splashed around and damage the air fryer or cause fire
I agree 100%! I'll stay with soaking with Dawn for 1/2 hr. and then wash or if not so bad a good spray down with the Dawn Power wash and then a wipe & rinse works too. An open pot of water just a few inches from an open A/C electric heating element is not something that is too safe!
Hey Brandon, not to be of any inconvenient. Your videos are so helpful, please can you show how to clean the Popflix big size popcorn machine. Thank you a lot.
There is also a good chance that you can take the entire door off if you have a tray-toaster oven style air fryer. I have a classic Instant(pot) Vortex, just open it half way and slide it right off.
@@donnaward3834 I have the McCullough. The only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't have clips to hold on a microfiber cloth like some others do nor can I see the water level. If I had it to do over again, I'd find one with those features.
Great tips! I need to try the steel wool 0000. No matter how well I rinse and run it empty I can still taste soap sometimes ~ just last night on my green beans 🤦🏻♀️ Do recommend putting the racks in the dishwasher? I have the drawer airfryer.
I don't know that I would use the brush attachment on food grease. That would be transferred to the curtains with that same attachment if you don't remember to clean the head. 🤔
I also use a vacuum to clean my air fryer. Love love dawn power wash! I always use it on the grease pan from the air fryer. Ooooo! I hadn’t thought of the straw cleaner!
Just wanted to tell you that 0000 steel wool is called 4 aught. You can get 2 aught - 4 aught steel wool. The more zeros the finer the wool. The term aught is just another name for zero. It’s a commonly used slang term.
Awesome thanks alot. Basket ones are soooo much easier to clean. I have tbe other one i hate it😢😢😢. My kids use ur for nuggets & fries sooo many crumbs. Soo hard to get tiny spots.
I wouldn’t recommend using your vacuum cleaner for the bits. It would grease up the suction pipe of the vacuum cleaner and then fluff would clog up inside
Power wash stained up the inside of my air fryer. Along with bar keepers friend, and a steam cleaner. I heard each of those are good to clean. Everything I try makes it worse. About to have to buy another new air fryer. There is no way to clean it right!
I’ve had an IP Vortex oven for a few years. Used it twice - after letting it run 6 times before first use. The fumes from the appliance are awful. Besides that point, getting the scent from ANY kind of dish detergent is close to impossible. My baked goods smell and taste like Dawn dish detergent. It didn’t matter how many times I’ve wiped and rinsed it off.
I had same issue with Dawn power wash! I've ran my basket through dishwasher so many times and the Dawn still is there! It didn't clean the gunk off my basket and it now just smells and tastes like soap.
@@KbugsKreations Tried baking soda paste without any luck. I don’t know who these folks are who use baking soda for odors but it gets a “no” from me… Baking soda, distilled white vinegar, actual lemon juice…none of them cut thru the dish detergent scent/taste. I’m ready to trash my oven type AF since all it does is collect dust.
@Fish_FL. I got rid of my oven type it was to hard to clean. I much prefer the basket one. I have tried the baking powder paste wrapping it in ceran wrap and waiting 2 hours. It still didn't make it easier to clean.
I used a spray cleaner on my “toaster oven” style air fryer and it got into a switch near the door. It cost AUD80 for a new switch. Do not use as much spray as this video!
Love most of your videos. For this process though, crumbs and old food particles go into the compost and the aluminum paper goes into the recycling. Even when soiled, aluminum paper can and must be recycled. You don’t want unnecessary things going into the garbage. Any food/organic matter in the garbage causes gases in the dump. And throwing out recyclables is just wasteful.
I set a bottle of dawn power wash on my car seat one day and it leaked out (probably from the heat) and it melted off the top layer of the fake leather smh
Don't use those terrible sponges. Talk about microplastics. They're great until they have reached their short lifespan then they shed lots and lots of microplastics that go down your drain and into the water system.

My grandma taught me so much, I'm happy to share what I have learned. Thanks for watching! 😀

This was precisely what I have been looking for, I hate to have my air fryer dirty, great video!!!!!!!!
My neighbor was just telling me last night that his fiancée used oven cleaner on theirs and destroyed the entire inside. 😮
It's too strong!
Ooh that's bad but thank you for the info! 😮
that happened to me too.
May be forgot to dilute

I love my Instant Vortex, like you have! I usually take the front door off to clean what drops in the cracks.
Those little cracks under the door on the Vortex are so annoying to clean. Definitely going to try those little pipe cleaners on it
We put our gormia basket in the dishwasher everyday (for years). Works great!
OMG!OMG!OMG! I have been waiting for this video for so long! Thank you so much! ❤
Hope you like it!
Thanks. I had just started using my air fryer again. I am glad that you showed more than one type of air fryer. Now I am going to look for your video on how to clean a toaster.
Thanks for watching Jasmine. There's so many different toaster/fryers I wanted to show a few options.😃
I just wipe the inside after every use and wash the trays. Occasionally, I'll use a small brush and then wipe away the soap.
Barkeeper's friend is the only thing that works for mine. I leave it on for 2 minutes and it doesn't ruin the coating
Thats a great option as well!
My gosh, I was hating my Emerial air fryer because I was afraid and did not know what to clean it with! Thank you!

The inside of the oven (non basket) type usually has a nonstick coating on the walls. Will the 0000 steel wool harm that coating?
Hey Brandon, not to be of any inconvenient. Your videos are so helpful, please can you show how to clean the Popflix big size popcorn machine. Thank you a lot.
Isnt it dangerous to have water in the basket? If not, how long did you leave the air fryer on?
Is there a way to clean inside the widow of the first type?
I have the same question. Not sure how that gunk got in there, but I would like to clean it out!
I have a toaster oven-style air fryer similar to yours and its door is removable. That makes it easier to get to more of those crumbs.
Hi Brandon 👋 you mentioned the steel wool, can I also use this in my actual oven? My oven is a disaster and it’s seen better days 😬
I have a oven like air fryer.will dawn powerwash leave a smell that gets in the food?
There is also a good chance that you can take the entire door off if you have a tray-toaster oven style air fryer. I have a classic Instant(pot) Vortex, just open it half way and slide it right off.
Could I use the pink stuff and a scrub daddy on the inside?
I used to do it this way until I bought a steam cleaner. I just blast the inside with steam and all of the gunk melts away.
Great idea. Can you link the steam cleaner?
Doesn't that mess up the electronics?
What steam cleaner do you have? I'm looking at getting one and don't have a clue on what's good and worth spending my money on.

I don't usually suggest putting the basket in the dishwasher but a nice long soak could help! 😄
Thank you so much for all your cleaning tips.
You are so welcome Michele!
Web spoon also cleans the basket style the same way
😢Thanks for creating and posting this helpful & practical video.

Oh my goodness i needed this video!!!
Thanks for watching!
This was incredibly useful!
Already tried Dawn Power Wash and it didn’t decrease. My oven wasn’t even anywhere near as bad as the oven in this video
What kind of vacuum is that one?
This was my Hoover Emerge
Thank you! Super clean! 👍🏻☺️
I also use a vacuum to clean my air fryer. Love love dawn power wash! I always use it on the grease pan from the air fryer.
Ooooo! I hadn’t thought of the straw cleaner!
How about the element on the basket air fryer? How do you clean that?
You can't unless you unscrew the casing and that's not a good idea, I have an air fryer so I just wipe clean mine.

You ought to tell more people about it. They ought to know about the aughts. Know I know!
@@scottormond7985 I know. “Naught” very many know about the “aughts” and they “ought” to. 🤣🤣🤣

More companies should design appliances with cleaning in mind!

I’d like to use my Hoover to Hoover my air fryer. I wouldn’t like my Hoover to smell of food
I thought this was Brock pierce from the movie “First Kid”
Dawn power wash smells bad though, it’s crazy how hardly BBC d as none talks about that!
I only watched to see what he was going to do around the door hinge, Im trying to find someone who actually took that door off
