The woman outed as the alleged 'Baby Reindeer' stalker said she felt 'used' in Piers Morgan interview, where he asked her if she loves Richard Gadd
A woman who was outed by "Baby Reindeer" fans as the alleged stalker of the true crime drama's creator and lead actor said she felt "used" by Piers Morgan in an interview about the Netflix series.
"Baby Reindeer" tells a fictionalized version of creator Richard Gadd's experiences with stalking, and has become a worldwide phenomenon since its release in April. That month, an unnamed woman who was outed on social media as "the real Martha Scott" told the Daily Mail she was considering taking legal action against Gadd and Netflix for the harassment she has faced as a result of viewers trying to track her down.
On Wednesday, Morgan revealed he had interviewed Fiona Harvey, believed to be the woman first interviewed by the Daily Mail. The interview will be released Thursday at 3pm ET on Morgan's RUclips channel, Piers Morgan Uncensored.
    Excerpt from The Independent
Real-life Martha Scott from Baby Reindeer sits down for tell-all Piers Morgan interview
The show has already sparked a backlash among viewers
The woman who allegedly inspired Richard Gadd’s hit Netflix series Baby Reindeer will give her first TV interview this Thursday (9 May).
In the series, comedian Richard Gadd plays a fictionalised version of himself who gets stalked by a lonely and mentally ill woman called Martha, whom he meets while working at a pub.
Following the series’ success curious fans have tried to discover the inspirations behind the show, which members of the cast have vehemently discouraged.
Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey, 58, who has been labelled the ‘real Martha’ has received death threats from Baby Reindeer viewers and will speak on Piers Morgan Uncensored to “set the record straight after being unmasked by fans”.
    Excerpt from The Sun
‘STALKER’ UNMASKED ‘I’m very attractive and I’m a lawyer’, says ‘real Baby Reindeer stalker’ Fiona Harvey as she threatens Netflix
THE WOMAN thought to be the real-life stalker from Netflix smash Baby Reindeer is threatening to sue Netflix.
The gritty real-life drama was inspired by the ordeal suffered by Scots creator and leading man Richard Gadd, 34.
The harrowing tale follows barman Donny Dunn as his life falls apart at the hands of an obsessive stalker - played by Jessica Gunning, 38, - after he offers her a cup of tea in a London bar.
The deranged Baby Reindeer maniac bombarded the comic with more than 41,000 emails, 744 tweets, 100 pages of letters and 350 hours of voicemails over a four year reign of terror
Gadd claimed he went to great lengths to conceal the identity of the woman who stalked him in real life and has begged fans not to search for her.

It's interesting that she felt the need to negatively characterise him as a homosexual, but then later said he tried it on with her but she turned him down. Gadd in the 'Based on a true story' series made references in some of the later episodes, regarding his insecurity about revealing too much about 'Martha', as she'd made open threats to expose him and his confusion around his sexuality. That's a pretty calculated, nasty level of psychological blackmail IMO, something about her feels deliberately malicious, self motivated and that part is what's unpleasant about her.
That was a big tell for her character for me, she's claiming to barely know him, have met him 2 or 3 times, well, maybe 6 times yet she's got the confidence to make what would be a baseless statement on the sexuality of a stranger in her first claimed scenario VS a 'I know things you don't know' type claim about him in her 'I think he's a homosexual' statement. VS her later saying actually he came on to me and I turned him down. VS later revealing actually she was making flirty 'jokes' at him over social media. A lot of comments here about how well Pierce handled this interview. I think he was sympathetic to her and didn't fully believe Gadd either. In his after-interview discussion with other guests - He kind of attacks Gadd and Netflix for their poor job on hiding supposed identities and that people are getting hurt in the process. He is very hard on Netflix for showcasing her getting convicted for stalking in a court of law - when it might not be true. I think Pierce wants this movie series to be 100% true because I guess that Netflix had claimed it was. The harsh criticisms at Gadd - makes me think some people may be missing the point of the movie - it sheds light on trauma and the ripple effects it can have on one's own self-esteem. The erratic actions/journey people take to try to get back to being whole again. Both main characters are both deeply flawed and vulnerable. They in a way mirror each other... because Gadd does become obsessed with her a little bit later with listening and organizing all her messages. Trauma can cause a ripple effect, it can also be cyclical, it can also be self-inflicted because of past trauma... I think it is also why people are so fascinated with this story - because it has soooo many layers. There is a lot of gray to it.

In the UK an "Ordinary Degree" doesn't give grades. You only get pass or fail. She's actually right about that and Piers is clueless regarding it.
In this interview she claims that she never got free drinks yet, if you read her Facebook page, there are LOADS of posts where she says how she constantly got free drinks from him. There are a million other things she states in this interview that directly contradict her Facebook posts.

Wow some of the comments saying they feel sorry for her, stop being horrible etc etc 😮 would they be saying the same thing if Fiona was a man?? She's already stalked a mp and her husband, she is not the victim here. Just shows you how society treats female stalkers compared to males. A man accused of stalking a female would never get the opportunity to give his side of the story 😠

Well damn now i have to subscribe so i can catch when you post the video with the lawyer lol. I finished this show in a single day, it was fantastic and learning that the main actor is also the writer and the guy who went though all of this is crazy. I literally couldnt imagine experiencing that situation.

My ears perked up when she was asked about assaulting the gf. She quickly said ~I don't know where he lives.
I didn't watch the show but is it implied or say that the assault happened at his house? So, how would she know it was at his house? Fights can breakout anywhere. It's a very specific thing to say without being privy to some knowledge of it, especially if she didn't watch Netflix. 🤔

Somebody help me out here - nobody would ever have known who this woman was if she had not stepped forward to complain about this character? 🤔 So, she has a gripe about someone she really doesn’t know, about a series she has never watched, yet claiming one of the main characters is portraying her? And she is upset by it? Why??? The woman is a nut nut job. After 15 mins of fame.

Did anyone else catch how she also knew Pierce Morgan's exact age, and came ready to mention it, as well as his previous show on criminal cases, which she specifically references, then quickly backtracks and says she's never seen it, but maybe just one episode? She clearly sat researching Pierce too, which in and of itself isn't a big deal... If you aren't being accused of serial stalking.

She needs professional help however not in the way that most people are thinking. Medication won't do much to help her. Behaviour modification and learning new coping mechanisms will however she obviously has no desire to go down that path and isn't getting that help because if she was, she would not be doing interviews. Its very difficult to treat someone like this because her behaviour works for her. She gets her needs met this way and the only way she will change is if it stops working and she is forced to try healthier methods of getting her needs met.

And because you can almost feel sorry, you forgive them for things you wouldn't normally forgive someone for. You can make allowances because you know how messed up they are and they don't even realize it. But then they abuse that empathy and make your life hell

Andy I think you are getting wrong end of the stick - she has clearly admitted that she knows Richard Gadd but is disputing her portrayal and some of the aspects of the show like her conviction. She is clearly a stalker but Netflix and Gadd have massively dropped the ball by clearly stating that this is a true story as opposed to based on or inspired by true events and opened themselves up to legal action

    • @privatename4786
      @privatename4786 24 дня назад +6

People are mentioning that at the end of the episode it states that some scenes were dramatised for effect. If this is the case, then she cannot sue him or Netflix.

    • @gabrielleking9696

It states, in the last episode that there was actually no conviction.

    • @sweettea527

Netflix didn't name her. She outed herself. Not sure she has a case.

    • @cylok2871
      @cylok2871 22 дня назад

@@sweettea527 the legal term is jigsaw identification and whilst in form netflix/Gadd did not name her they made it so easy for the general public to identify her and thus failed in their duty of care to anonymise her. Think about the Darrian character who joe public/internet sleuths cannot identify because they hid his real identity really well and ask why they did not do the same with Martha?
