Abandoned stores, even huge big box stores like this, look ridiculously tiny when they are empty! It makes you think "how did all of that stuff fit in there?!"

I miss "Kmarts". You'd be shopping in the store, and over the intercom they would announce indoor special deals for everyone to run to and get super cheap. You'd see everybody running with their shopping carts to wherever they'd announce that you had a certain amount of time to come to, and grab up items on sale til the fantastic bargain merchandise was grabbed up, and time to get it for a certain price was over. First to get there, first ones to get the in store special deal(s). Everybody would be laughing at seeing one another running for the stuff. It was hilarious, and FUN to go shopping there. The store was famous back then for selling long big bags of deli ham sandwiches super cheap too. EVERYBODY never left Kmart without getting a bag of the delicious deli sandwiches to take home with them after shopping at their local store. Thanks for this look at an abandoned historical Kmart, and for taking me back down a memory lane of happier times of bygone days and adventures there.

That's not to say it's working as intended, lol. The system would have been making all kinds of noise within a couple minutes of you entering had it been armed. They likely don't arm it because they probably 1) don't know how 2) don't care 3) the system isn't being monitored by anyone 4) the link to the monitoring service is dead because it's outdated or disconnected, or any combination of those. That keypad is from a Radionics alarm panel (Now owned by Bosch) and it is a very capable system. You still see them in use at home depot, walmart, etc.

Hey dude I know urban exploration is really fun but you really shouldn't be doing this, at least not alone. There's really fucked up people who do very fucked up shit in places like these. The dangers of doing this are pretty substantial. And some places also have silent/automatic alarms, if the police catch you it'll chase you for the rest of your life. Not hating, just concerned.

This is why you always go with groups and never by yourself in abandoned place. Going by yourself in an abandoned place is a death wish essentially.@@Rad_Dan

@@Polothemiusthat’s good, but remember there’s also the possibility you could render yourself immobile and starve/bleed out with no one around to help. (For example if you fell, or the ceiling did) also im not trying to be a hater, or a downer. Like the original comment on this thread, just trying suggest being careful.
