Very nice video and set up! I am thinking of buying a Saturn-R; I understand it was released some years ago (2020 or maybe before?). How has been your experience so far? Would you recommend it? Thanks!
Thanks 🙏 The Saturn-R dates back to 2013 I think so quite old now although I believe they were still in production in 2020 (there was a very minor facelift in 2016, the only giveaway being the badge on the cd cover and the font used on the back panel). The latest model Saturn mk3 was launched in 2022. I took the opportunity to get the older Saturn-R for just over €1000, the latest model costs €2400, so I thought it good value to get an older one in like new condition. Not been disappointed as a CD player or DAC, it’s always worked perfectly and produces good analogue sound. Not the most advanced DAC by modern standards, but 24/192 is enough for me and good sound is good sound
@@adrianmartinezbenoit6745 I haven’t compared it to the most highly renowned modern Chi-Fi DACs so I can’t say how it stacks up in that regard. But I much prefer it to the iFi DSD Neo I was using before, and from memory it’s quite close to the Heed Abacus and that’s one I absolutely loved. As a CD playing DAC, it’s a great piece.
