Wow! Wow! Wow! I just cleared 150gb from my Mac!!! Years of cache from video editing with Premiere. I had no idea. I've looked at other tutorials on how to clear cache, but none mentioned how to do what you did. Thanks!
Guys, instead of breaking your head sometimes, while opening the project check if you set it to inches or pixels, I found it out the hard way, I didn't notice, I was tryna open a new project with 1000 x 1000 "inches" instead of "pixels" , be careful even if you have a lot of space sometime this could be the issue, select and always use pixels not inches
This video has been there for me wherever I’ve needed it. It’s lowered my blood pressure time and time again. I couldn’t be more thankful for this Saint! Until next time my friends! I cleared over 100 GBs this time so I might not be back for a while 😂😂😂
there is no common option when I go through the list of options :/ Plus I don't understand how I have cache built up when I dowloaded photoshop today and only started using it ...
WOOOOOOOOOOWWW!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!! I kept having to delete files, and for some reason after a few days it'd start acting up again. Simply amazing! Thank you!!!
Mine does not have the Library folder too but if you go on the GO drop down menu, hover your mouse to HOME then press down the OPTION/ALT key, you'll see LIBRARY popping up under HOME.
If I delete my media cache from library: caches: adobe: lightroom: video: media cache.......this will not delete my raw files or my smart previews? What a great video. I was able to delete a TON from the Common: Adobe: Photoshop. :)
OMG THIS VIDEO HELPED ME A TON!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU!!!!! THIS MADE MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. IM A GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDENT AND HAVE TO USE THE ADOBE SOFTWARES BUT THE SCRATCH DISKS NEVER LET ME OPEN THE SOFTWARE PROGRAM. THIS JUST SAVED MY LIFE!!!
This was super helpful!!! Thank you! I've been trying to figure this out for months and this was the first piece of info that actually helped. Thank you so much!!
I had done everything, but when i open custom file in photoshop, it says ''couldn't load the command because scratch discs are full'' i literelly had done all the cleanups but ir keeps saying that, it only says when i make a document upto 500 of width
Once I get to "Common" mine does not have the file "Media cache files". No idea what to do next... but up until then you explained it quite well, thank you.
Good video. This problem is also often caused tho by starting a project in 'inches' instead of in 'pixels'. If for example you make 800x800 inch project, this is 60-70gb big and you will get the message that your disk is full while it is actually not.
Ive followed your video multiple times now and it has worked everytime, but I have had to do it every single time I do a project. And I only do one project per week. And this last time i could even finish my project because it would work for a second and then stop me again... Any ideas of what I can do..? Im on a mac.
I don't understand what this files are tho, if you delete them will the things in your projects (like clips in Premier for example) also be deleted or are they completely different things?
Mine's still full. I have 10 free GB on my hard drive and yet Photoshop won't even OPEN because the scratch disks are too full, so I can't change any settings.
How to find the Library folder on Mac (macOS Sierra, Mojave or Catalina) Open Finder window. Click Go in a Menu Bar → select Go to Folder. Or use the Cmd+Shift+G key shortcut. Type ~/Library and click Go in a dialog window. The required Mac Library folder will be shown.
