I believe it does cause the quality and taste of tea makes a lot difference. I have tired uk brands loose tea but i was not getting the taste i wanted. I have used red label loose tea which is indian or pakistani brand.
Karak chai has been around before the condensed milk. The key to karak chai is actually (1) boil the ingredients in very small amount of water till the water almost evaporates, then (2) add milk and boil till the milk is at least 20% reduced. Now you have the karak, truck driver chai!
Hello. I am from Greece. We usually drink green tea or coffee. Moca... I ve judt made your recipe... Taste amazing...i will tadte it from now on every day.
I’m Azerbaijani, we never add milk to the tea and gently brew it only turning the fire off before it starts bowling. If we miss and it starts boiling, we throw the tea. Here in Dubai my daughter felt in love with Karak tea, so many thanks for posting this recipe. 🙏
I'm originally from here and we never make it like this tbh, but seems delicious anyways. I personally warm up the spices with the water then add tea and boil the water then add evaporated rainbow milk, then when it starts bubbling I shut it up with sugar and in the end add the warmed saffron water and that's it
You are right. Tea should not be boiled, as it becomes toxic. It should only be added to hot water. But sadly, tea is boiled as a custom across the Indian subcontinent!
I use evaporated milk because my Indian friend uses that. There's just something about that milk that makes it so rich instead of regular milk. I was so proud of myself when she came over and I made it to her liking. I was like, yes. I made authentic chai. Lol.
Yes with evaporated milk the tea tastes nice and different then making with normal milk. I have also uploaded a recipe for tea with evaporated milk using tea bags.
I guess condensed milk & evaporated milk are same except condensed milk has sugar. So more thick in texture. As milk is slowly evaporated - it gets condensed.
Reducing mik IS the cooking method of evaporated milk. Fat level become higher in the reduced amount of milk, lactose, too plus solids turning it into a velvety liquid. That is all, no secret to it! 👋🏻😌
@@butterflybush8981 Evaporated milk is thinner and not sweetened just depending on the natural lactose present in milk whereas condensed is reduced way down to a thicker consistency which makes it higher in fat level and then they sweeten it. That is the difference for you, dear.
This is the authentic recipe of traditional tea (Chai), makes one's day cheerful. There's no alternative or match of any coffee shop's morning drink😋☺👍

this Arab karak tea. It is known in Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf countries. We don't put ginger with the cardamom. This is why cardamom tastes so strong in Arabic coffee and karak tea.
powdered milk for that extra milky taste. Also i mixed both Assam and Ceylon for a balanced tea taste. For a refreshing and brisk taste, brew a huge amount of tea leaves for a short time
Idea is to reduce and thicken the milk. In Pakistan no one adds condensed milk in tea. Just reduce the milk and cook the tea with ginger and cardamom first and then add milk. Also the brand of tea makes a difference.
Reduce the milk with ginger and cardamom and then add milk??!! Did you mean boil water with ginger and cardamom and add tea leaves. Brew it down, then add milk and reduce it?
Mashallah amazing technique thank you so much dear for sharing such an awesome recipe the famous pashto music is amazing stay blessed and stay connected 💖
One other tip for karak chai is to add plain Marie biscuits. Just crush 5 6 of them for 2 3 cups and add instead of condensed milk. It will taste great. You add or reduce the biscuits based on your taste as to how thick you want to make it.
Made in many South asian homes & cloves, ginger and cinnamon can be added too. I sometimes make it plain, often with green cardamom and or the extra spices..my family don't like fennel seed in their tea but I add crushed fennel seed to mine ❤
In Dubai, I see that in tea cups, tea(coloured water) is above and water is down. Both the waters don't mix by there own in cup if a person don't mix it. ❤The transparent tea cups look very beautiful with this phenomenon but,.. I can't understand the logic behind this.😌😞
Hi! I've never seen traditional Indian tea made this way! Is it something that was improvised by you? However, it looks hot & tasty! Thanks for sharing!
You are right! It will be more like kheer with condesned milk and lots of elaichi! With milk and condensed milk, a lot more tea powder is required which makes the end product too thick and strong! Boil the water with tea powder and sugar in it and then add the milk and boil is the best and original recipe!!
Is this the same as Chaiiwalas Karak Chai? I've had two from there and really like the thick milky taste, a nice change from the Masala Chai I make a lot. But, that "large" cup from Chaiiwala isn't enough for me 😂
I made it with extra thick carnation milk and a little ginger and green cardamom. I thought it was pretty much the exact same.. No need to buy anymore now 👌
Great recipe! For those who are conscious about too much sugar intake, replace the condensed milk with gurh (brown sugar or jaggery). Do you have any recipe for "masala" chai?
