My pal is coming over from USA for 6 weeks next May, i told him we will do the Leeds/Liverpool to Manchester and come back across the Rochdale, i think we will catch you up having heard about all the closures this year on the LEEDS/Liv. Very interesting vlog as usual.
Thanks Eric. Yes we have been moving quite slowly but we are now on a mission to get through the Wigan Flight in the open window 27-10 til 8-11 and then onto the Middlewich before that closes on 8-11. Makes me feel dizzy just typing it out!!
14:10 You are correct it was a winch on the canal. There used to be an old mill just next to it that was still there up to about 30/40 years ago. If I remember rightly it was owned by Yorkshire water.

Ref: St Ives walk. That area was full of trees up to this spring. They apparently succumbed to disease & had to be cut down.
