My Dad loved Robbie Shepherd's work. He had a record - thrown out eventually after his death - that contained a comic poem that I would love to have the full words to, does anyone have them? It was called "The Thrum o' 'Oo" and was about a lad who, in the old days when people went to the pictures in evening dress and also in the days where you could pick up a flea there, tried to discreetly remove an end of wool ("thrum o' 'oo) from a girl's nice posh dress with fatal consequences, as he pulled and pulled and the thread was neverending - I have the last bit, when she gets home and tries to find the bitemark from the flea she thought had caused the itch she suffered from in the pictures and couldn't find it:"... she found nae single mark. But she's winnered ever since far she tint (lost) her wiven sark (knitted vest). Fine she mine't on pittin't on, fit a chauv tae get inside! At the time she fairly thocht that the sark was on tae bide. But she never yet fun' oot, tae the hinmost crack o' doom. For the lad that ken's the secret hauds the clue aneth his thoom."
