Sa murang edad, namulat na sa sipa at suntok ng Taekwondo si Kurt kaya naman siya na ang pambato noon sa Taekwondo clinic sa Bangued.
Pero ang karera niya para makamit ang puwesto sa larangang ito, hindi naging madali. Ngunit sa kabila ng ilang pagkatalo, hindi pinanghinaan ng loob si Kurt.
