Angelina wrote new lyrics for two famous songs by Amy Winehouse, "Back to Black" and "Rehab" since it was inappropriate for a preteen to sing the original lyrics. For "Back to Black" Angelina wrote the new lyrics in the 24 hours prior to the recording, then needed just two takes.
Awesome reaction! There is just no one like her in music today, maybe ever. She is doing some amazing work with Toby Gad, they recently released a jazzy version of her new song "Bad Valentine" that is stunningly good! Hope you will check it out.
A very nice reaction! A number of music legends that have met her have said that she is a great storyteller, so I was happy to hear you mention that! She's been singing for over a decade and she's only 18 years old. Then, to have co-writer of the song, Toby Gad, playing piano for her is just amazing. Currently, Angelina and Toby are working together and creating new songs for her to sing. Exciting times!

This is a new and fantastic live version of the song, with the wonderful echoes of the church that make it even more magical her voice, I would listen endlessly to her wonderful and powerful voice with that incredible low register of her and those wonderful progressions, I admire her fantastic musical sensitivity more and more, it seems impossible, but every song, simple or complex, which she rediscover becomes a new and splendid song. For me she is simply unique and with an incredible melodic perception. I love this composed and passionate performance, it's absolutely healing for the soul but even so crossed by an incredible musical power and structure, I love when in the second part, the soft background accompaniment of the piano and cello gives a wonderful and silky backdrop at her incredible voice. 💛🧡❤

I love it when Angelina sings acapella. She does it a lot on her TikTok, when she is walking on the street or she especially likes to do it in a parking garage where the family keeps their car. She just records herself using a selfie stick for her phone & the reverb in the garage is great. I hope a creator fan puts together a YT video of all her Garage Performances. It would be great to recommend for a reaction & since they are all very short, the video wouldn't be too long.
This song, written by Toby Gad and BC Jean, first recorded by BC Jean and then made famous when Beyonce recorded it. Here Toby asked Angelina to record it for his new album "Piano Diaries" and they have recorded several renditions including this one. Now Toby and Angelina along with Charlotte Jane have written a new song, "Bad Valentine" which was released on September 20th. They have recorded several versions of this song as well. My favorites are the live performance which is captured on Toby Gad's channel and the jazzy (piano diaries) version which is a release on Angelina's official channel. A&R (Artists and repertoire)
Rob Christie, two-time Grammy winner, and Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California is Angelina's A&R person, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, four years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision. AJ now lives in West Hollywood in Los Angeles, where the record company Republic Records has built a separate music studio for her. She states, "I feel incredibly lucky to have been signed by one of the biggest record companies in the world. I have my own studio where I make my own music. There will also be a lot of concerts in the future because I have released an EP. I will soon go on a world tour and play my songs, (This was stated to TV2 in Norway on Aug. 21, 2023)
Republic Records/Universal Music spared no cost on the Angelina Jordan Christmas Show of Dec 23, 2021, they brought in some of the greatest, and best talent in the music industry to backup AJ. The piano player on "The Christmas Song" was none other than: Victoria Fatu Victoria Fatu is a renowned pianist, composer and educator who has performed in prestigious venues around the world. She is known for her expressive and virtuosic interpretations of classical and contemporary repertoire, as well as her original compositions that blend elements of jazz, pop and ethnic music. She is also a passionate teacher who inspires her students to develop their musical skills and creativity. Victoria Fatu holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California and is currently a professor of piano at West Virginia State University.

There is another music video in the same church setting that is terrific, but it's a studio recording. THIS one is captured live amid the soaring acoustics of the church. I'm sure that's why they kept the "Yay, that was good" (understatement of the year) at the end of this single take, to prove to the doubters her insane talent/voice/musicality is NOT a product of the studio. She is the REAL DEAL, unlike so many of today's less talented popular music singers who rely on autotune and pitch correction.
