I just replaced my 1.5 volt battery holders, which are thin and broke. I replaced them with two 9 volt battery holders one right and one left. I wired twin 9 volt connectors in parallel for nine volts total. Tthat is plus to plus and again to the plus lead to the amp. Similarly the negative leads were joined and soldered to the negative battery lead from the amp. It works.
I use mine for blues harp and I absolutely love it

If it was good enough for the late, great Chicago guitarist Terry Kath, it's good enough for me. He was a part-owner of Pignose.
Pignose Crossmix...Paul Rivera designed, great sound from a little amp
The pignose rules...all must kneel.
Das beste!
Pignose rules eternity.
"Made in China" tell me it ain't so.
I’m afraid so If you want a new one, personally I would buy the used American made Pignose.
