So much negativity in the comments! These guys did great. Every one of them put a lot of talent and passion into their performance and if I hear one more person call cringe or waist comment space with 'the us version was better' Imma pich someone so hard their great great great whatever grandmother will feel it back in the dark ages.

I'm neither from UK or US, it's not really a question of which version or whatever but I do think that no one can top Alex Brightman. However the kids are always amazing no matter what production

The problem with this was that at the beginning during "my dad says it's a waste of time." The kid yells the line but he doesn't really sound pissed. Brandon sounds pissed. The kids don't embody the characters. The same problem occurs during "shut up!" After the line about the cymbals. The one exception is Billy
does it really matter? not all kids from broadway and west end don't play the character exactly the same! they play the character in a different way. making it their own way to express that character.

I have seen this team live, and I promise you there is nothing wrong with their portrayals. They where all fantastic actors. Remember they don’t do this version of the song in the show, and they were probably a little stressed over being filmed.

SAME but when I went to see it (like a year and a half ago) I looked at the age limit and I was 13 and the limit went to 12 I was so annoyed!!! If you are in the right age range then I say go for it and if they don’t chose you then no harm done!

okay. So everyone is saying the american version is better. I have to disagree. I'm a american, and I was watching the american version. I was thinking, this isn't really that good. So I decided to check out the UK version. I have to say the acting is better in the american version, but the UK version is so much more entertaining and the music is better
Marianna Ward the acting is better because they purposely need to put an american accent, which means every bit and line is well thought instead of reading off the script. Make sense?
Marianna Ward to be honest, there are more then one set of cast for this musical, and while this is the main cast, I personally feel these are the weakest in acting.
I am from foreign country which is not speaking English and i must say i like the UK version !

Hmm, I checked this out because I live in the UK, so this is the version I'm likely to see, and, to be honest, I prefer the American version. It just doesn't have the same kick as the original, but this is on my list of things to see in Broadway, so hopefully I'll get some action over the pond? :)

I know it's a bit late, but still, I prefer the American version. given that UK actors just don't have the same feeling as the American actors; and Alex Brightman is just GREAT. Also, these kids don't know how to act, while the US kids are obviously not the best actors, but they know what they're doing and act very decently. But hey, I'm sure it's not that bad of a show.

Private schools can revoke children's constitutional rights, Public schools are operated under the Government which cannot. The majority of American kids go to public schools ;D
