For anyone having trouble getting their topology to look nice, a good trick i discovered is to disable the subsurf modifier temporarily and fix the geometry while looking at the low poly model by using edge sliding! hope this helps anyone else who might have been having issues
Is there any chance you could provide a video of how you did that? I've tried this tutorial so many times and I just don't get the vertices exactly as needed for the mouth. =(
Can’t make a video but in order to edge slide pick the vert you wanna edit and jsut double tap the G button! As far as turning off the modifier just click the little computer screen icon on the modifier to temporarily disable it :)
So far this is the best anime 3d modeling tutorial that can stepping stone for modeling harder models. Since most 3d modeling tutorials are just "create vertices until you get base shape" which takes AGES to finish and wont teach anyone anything about actual modeling.
Excellent, thank you! Most of the videos. I have watched. Even though they state it is for “absolute beginners”. They are not. Your style of teaching. Is very good. Keep it up.
this is a great tutorial thats helping me figure out sculpting even better then the doughnut tut. even though its a lot longer, it repeats a lot of things to help drill it into your mind, and the process makes the whole sculpting thing seem less scary. its time consuming, but you dont need to be a genius to do it. the doughnut tut did stuff once and expects you to remember after the video ends, which i dont. this helped me figure out a lot of things i was stumped on. thanks.
Phew my first try on modeling and i needed about 5 hours to get to the last stage of eyebrows done... im kinda happy with the outcome lets see how far we can go :'D thanks for the tutorial! Im learning those hotkeys pretty fast and some workflows get faster by the minute^^
Amazing!! 🔥🔥 I want to create a 3D character , your vids keep motivating me to learn, with your amazing models, easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions, everything becomes easier , thank you very much my friend :D
This is nowhere near a beginner tutorial. There are many others that break down how to do each step. This guy just flies through keyboard shortcuts and quick edits.
No idea why the creator decided to drop this series and make another one indeed.. so many people are asking for the part 4. Wish he would finish it someday
Thank you so much for the lesson. Everything is clear and understandable. Thanks to your lessons, I have learned a lot. I hope you will have more lessons. ❤
I'm trying to use this tutorial to build a higher quality realistic character but one issue i am having. When you subdivided the cube into a circle. I attempted to pull it using the sculp mode. It maintains its shape for me. Only expand and contracts so i can't really mould it to my desired dhape
We want the next tutoriel to be "how to animate your rigging character like pro just as disney doing" And thanks for every thing , i'm a subscriber since 2 year ago
Bro thank you so much for your blender tutorial for beginners, I am really happy to watch your videos and this is helping more for me ( from India). bro, please do small face animation with this character 👍👏😍
15:40 my eyes ended up looking like windows in 4.0, how can I fix this? I'm a bit confused, its like it grabbed the inside of the quads and not the quad it's self.
Proportional brush just doesn’t exist. Had to figure out how to select edges and not vertices on my own. I was cackling in awe of the subjective opinion that he thinks it’s simple when he’s spouting each key-bind that doesn’t change the selection mode for you at light speed. mockingly I said “haha I’m (insert name here) I like saying step 1(inserts 20 steps in between reaching step two) is simple here’s step two!” (Proceeds to not explain how he got from step 1 to step two after step 1.13 where he clicked o and magically had the brush tool out and ready to use) “let me scroll my mouse wheel to change the size!” (Meanwhile im pressing the button on my screen and pressing O and no such brush has appeared after spending more than 3 hours looking at this video reiterating steps from 3:00 - 18:03 trying to figure out why my image isn’t doing what he’s saying it should despite putting the inputs in correctly. God this is beyond frustrating to listen to =_= despite all this I am learning but it’s taking a lot longer because either the software changed something since the making of this video or this guy just likes leaving minuet but important details out about how to interact with the software. Informational, but god am I having a hard time following along.
Question at the 31:08 mark I'm using 4.0 and the snapping to face project option is avaliable buy not the project individual elements bit how do I fix that?
24:01 when i make a line cut, there are many red squares randomly appear on the cut line. After I press "enter" the edges are distorted and look like they are stuck together. Help me! How to fix it?
i was flying by until it got to mouth and nose.. the tool wont work and whenever i press G to move the things around, instead it moves the full head around!
try useing the mouse scroll to zoom it if the proportional editing is on and zoomed out so much that you cant see it the whole head move try zooming it in
Where I can get dat tab where action of tool are showed ? 19:02 wanna click on boundaries but tab is nowhere and dont have idea how to insert properly... Cant even find how toadd dat tab in whole tutorial, help please....no luck even in others tutorials of diff people.
15:52 when i add the mirror modifier the mirror clips into the original half of the face creating an awful "stitch"... does anybody have a solution for this? i tried to merge them a little bit, but as soon as i try to use the sculpture mod, the face becomes glitchy and the center between the eyes disappears :(
Uh Excuse me I just started 3D Modeling and I'm tryna do a Genji Model mines isn't animated tho I have him in a pose I want him in I try to render and his body isn't fully showing that I want in the camera
What is better? This or sculpting, I mean for a more accurate and advanced character creating? Or it doesn't have that big difference, you just have to know one method the best and you can do the same stuff in both methods?
Bro when i use the grab tool theres 2 yellow dots , one stays in the center , the other one goes to the side , so when i try to pull down to make the chin , it just makes the whole thing look off center , please help me
Here is a new type of food I came up with: "Fruiti-Pizza" A Fruiti-Pizza is a pizza made with a sweet and slightly savory crust, topped with a variety of fruit, such as strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, and mango. The fruit is drizzled with a honey-yogurt sauce and sprinkled with shredded coconut. The pizza is then baked until the crust is crispy and the fruit is warm and juicy. The Fruiti-Pizza can be served as a sweet and healthy breakfast, a refreshing lunch, or a fruity dessert.
13:10 Hello!! Your video is really helping but I'm stuck here... how to turn mesh from transparent to opaque? Mine is so transparent that I can barely see it 😬 can you help me please?
Nice Tutorial. I wish i would be able to create and such a Charakter with Blender, but for me as a Beginner there is so much i do not understand. A little bit more explanation what you are doing and why. Sometimes I follow your steps but i dont know what iam doing. But maybe its only me.
you're probably have a problem with a mirror modifier.. so please in the Edit mode SELECT all the vertices on the left side delete them, ctrl a and apply all Transformers than add a mirror one more time ... that should be works
"Hit K to activate the Knife tool" You know, as long as it sounds normal for Blender users, for normal users it might sound quite interesting out of context, especially when the Knife tool's key is "K"
When I use grab in sculpting, it only seems to want to pull the whole general shape around even if I make the brush smaller, and I can't grab onto the bottom of the face like you do... I've followed all the steps properly, it's subdivided and mirrored over the x, the brush just doesn't have as much control as yours, and for some reason refuses to do anything at all when I grab the sides Nvm, I ended up deleting the subdivision modifier and putting it back and now it works(????????????) very cringe but I guess I'm happ it's fixed
Hey I'm having an issue when it comes to scultping the head. It will only let me sculpt the side, I cannot sculpt the middle parts into the nose or anything. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Question. You constantly remind us to keep our mesh as quad as possible. What does Quad mean? Aside from each face having 4 verts each.
