      Let’s not forget the infrared transceiver built in to the Game Boy Color. There’s a game, that just as a small little bonus feature, could record and save the pattern of any infrared light source and play it back later. So if you recorded your television remote’s power button signal, you could use your Game Boy Color to turn your TV on and off.

      Makes you wonder if an embroidery machine really should be that expensive and if they're actually cheaper to make than you think. I'm curious to see if there is old sewing machine mechanics that put together machines the old fashioned way causing things to be way more expensive since there is less automation involved in production

    • @Discotechque
      @Discotechque 8 месяцев назад +41

      Yes, they were expensive before because it was purely mechanical and needs craftsmen to make those parts, and they're not cheap to hire. Modern embroidery machines have embedded computers in them that do the work of embroidery technicians, more often than not these computers are proprietary and people pay for the R&D of said computers and not the machine itself. Embroidery machines today are more idiot proof that even high school students could operate them with only 3 hours of training.

    This looks a great way for Jaguar to get higher end sewing machines into more homes. They don’t have to deal with the costs of all the programming hardware and software on each machine, which the customer has paid through GB and cartridge purchase. Awesome idea, much like how the drive motor on a Kitchenaid stand mixer can power all sorts of acessories that because of using the mixer’s drive shaft, don’t have to spend time and money on engineering, R&D, manufacturing, etc., to make a separate drive system for the attachment.

    Hardly an accessory at the point, making the Gameboy an accessory to itself

    The gameboy just replaces the programmable computer that you can find in industrial sewing machines. Trains kids to start a career in sweatshops when they grow up. 😊
