Currently looking for something besides basic wheel locks. Was looking at rimgard but after doing my research I feel confident these things are the real deal. About to make a purchase.
I dunno man.. So.. what happens when u lose or misplace the key?? Then say u have a flat tire, or the vehicle needs servicing or repairs done - but there is no key with the vehicle or it has been lost?! Seems overkill, and more problems to deal with if u lose the key, or if it gets damaged. Then u have to destroy your wheels to get them off - or wait weeks for a replacement key from a one-off manufacturer (if they are still in business and a replacement is available)... That's not worth it in my opinion... For myself, being a master mechanic; this scenario was one of the worst ones to deal with, in those rare cases when our master McGard keys & other sets wouldn't work.. Like working at a GM dealer & servicing a VW, BMW, Benz, aftermarket wheels, & etc types of vehicles (with various rim & suspension setups). Then u find that the locking lugnut was damaged, seized, or the owner's lug keys were lost. In those cases it was either 3 (maybe 4) options, but usually 3 (as people need their cars to travel, get groceries, go to work, get kids to & from school, etc)... Those 3 options are; forcing a special hardened steel taper socket onto the lugnut with a sledge hammer & hoping the socket grabs enough to loosen the lugnut, or air hammer the lug key off in a loosening rotation, or if all else fails oxy acetylene torch it off!! The last 2 methods can easily damage wheels. Air hammer extractions can be done cleanly & without damage; but with some designs of wheels (for example - ones with narrow lug wells) will often cause damage to be more likely to occur... As for the last resort - oxy + acetylene torching - this method will almost always result in damages; either to the paint / finish damage at the least, and up to melted wheels around the lugnut wells or completely cutting the wheels off.
Except unlike the iPhone, I'm not paying over $1K for technology that other manufacturers have already had for three years. Still a pretty sick concept, gonna get me a set when I get my new wheels.
These are cheap in comparison, I used the word iPhone to draw traffic with keywords. I paid $130 to Advance Wheel Locks which was worth every single penny.
@@MexicanBagpiper96 ..Yep, I saw some other wheel lock kits out there for $400 but this design was by far the best and the cheapest. Once the product dominates the market, I'm sure they will raise thier prices.
Can you explain how ordering these works? New to modifying my cars and the lugs, per their website, one set for $99 gets "Four (4) M12x1.5 threaded nuts (ball seat)", is that enough for the whole car since each wheel only needs 1 ball?
I ordered these for my 22 Accord Sport, I like the look and I feel safer. I’m glad, I stumbled across the website, while looking for a higher security wheel lock.
I received my wheel locks today installing them tomorrow. Also, I think these are the best on the market. Motordyne G35 I told them I heard about their wheel locks from your RUclips channel (which is true). Hopefully they'll give you some props.

Why? Because they allow dogs without charging another $100 for my Boston Terrier. Foot traffic all night at motel 6s because we all know why. I stayed 3 nights, the G still has its wheels🙏

Good question. I doubt you can even get a cutting tool inside the cylinder walls to the nut. These wheels cost $4,000 without tires. I park at Motel 6s in the hood because it is cheap and they allow dogs when I travel. I still have my work wheels so they work.
Motordyne G35 tbh now that you mention that it makes sense. It would be hard for a criminal to cut these due to the fact that it would require a great amount of force to cut them. I actually live in the hood and I have a 370z. Some people here have 350z, bmws, and a Mercedes but my Honda was once stolen and I’m a bit scared of getting my 370z stolen
Someone in my city just complained on a neighborhood forum that one morning he was driving to work and his car started wobbling. He looked at his wheels and 4 out of 5 lug nuts were missing on all of his wheels. Only one locked lug nut was left on each wheel. I have a new Challenger on order and I want 5 locking lug nuts on every wheel! I don't know what the wheels on my car will cost to replace, but the tires are over $200 each and I don't want to take any chances.
That is incorrect. The company makes each "combination" in groups of 250 nuts. So, there are duplicate sets out there, but it is unlikely someone would go to the trouble of trying to hunt down YOUR security lugs with THEIR copy of the key.
idk man i bought some , and the key plate material looks like it will strip aventauly , first time use, i seen damage on the key plates ( i thought about this b4 installing so i tried my best to keep the key flush against the lock lug correctly) these locks will be A+ if the material was harder
DO NOT use an impact. I'm sure over long term the key will wear, but the problem is rust. It scrapes off the coating first time and they look like shit.
I thought of the same thing. You keep a serial number they give you when you buy pretty much any lock. Manufacturer can then get you a replacement key. Video suggests you keep this # in a safe, I might keep it with the key, hidden in my car. My guess is that, like a potential thief, a shop would have a lot of trouble removing this lock design if you had no key AND no serial number so definitely keep serial number safe so that Mfr. could sell you a replacement key. This product look great, and I want to go with this plus a cheaper sliding sleeve type lock on opposite side of wheel. My only concern is with the key replacement availability in the future, as this is a startup, and their video from a year ago mentioned not getting kickstarter funding. Apparently they got that and are doing well now, but will product be supported in future, and the replacement key availabile 10 years from now? I may inquire about just buying an extra key now and putting one in a safe and one in the car, as folks have said this is a good value for the quality. Great idea and I wish them the best of luck and hope they do have a long term and viable business here.
Bro I ordered these for the accord but I’m second guessing myself- maybe I should have gotten Rimgard? Do you think these are just as safe? Rimgard is crazy expensive
The wheels you are looking at are Work Wheels, they cost $4,000 without tires. Your OEM wheels are safe. I even sleep at Motel 6’s because dogs stay free when out filming content. I wake up, my wheels are still there.
I want you to try this, get a big socket and fill it with some rubber cement or something of that sort and then put it on the special lug. i BET you it works.
Who's going to go through all that trouble. Here's the thief: yeah hand me that rubber cement I've got to pour it into this socket. No, I can't put it on yet. It has to cool a little bit. Y'all look out. Is it working. Hold on I'm still waiting for it to cool. Ok, ok, ok I'm ready now. Watch out while I put this rubber filled socket on. Mmmmmm, mmmmmmm, mmmmmm. Damn this things tough. I don't think we're going to get these wheels off. FUCK! That was my best socket. Now it's ruined.
No thief is going to do that, obviously they aren't completely steal-proof, but it is about ease of stealing. Anyone going for wheels would rather go for wheels that do not have a wheel-lock than one that does (or even in this case one that has a more-complicated wheel lock vs. one that has a less complicated wheel lock).
If you wouldn't mind giving an update on these wheel locks I have a few questions. First question is it rusting or chipping on the finish and also the internal disk in the wheel lock are they loose or tight I thought the disk may move inside when using the key. Last do you still have your wheels with these locks cause those wheels are nicer than my stock Honda wheels but Honda wheels equal theft.
The inside of the wheel locks are permanently positioned by casting. It will never come loose. Finish is perfect, still have them. Just uploaded a video today with drone shots.
Of course they are still working. Don’t you see all my new videos with the work wheels still on? I travel to do drone shots for the RUclips channel staying at random cheap hotels, no one can take them with these locks.
Aftermarket wheel locks cost more and I go into detail why at the end of the video. I paid $130, just reach out to Liz at Advance Wheel locks tell her I sent you.
Wow, I'm so glad I saw this video. I am moving to a city were theft is a lot more common and so I have been wanting Rimgard but they don't seem to have designs for subaru or aftermarket, these look like the match for me.
These are way better than MacGuard but they're are not foolproof. Ideal Donut just published a review on 4 wheel locks and they easily removed these with a nut extractor.
They don't make them for lugs that have the threads on them.. being a new Co. hopefully they will in time get to other styles of lugs for different cars.. Hope so.
Me and a buddy got these off easy all you need to do is get a good deep impact socket weld in a good spade bit set all that’s left is cutting a slot into the wheel lock and that s%# ah come right off if I were a theif I’d walk around with that socket as a tool to take thoes off you can use wire cutters too if you have to be silent
I bought a set of 5. They look and feel well designed, but I needed a 6th one made for a tailgate wheel mount on a gladiator. I never could get customer service to call back to discuss my issue. With no service after the sale, I would not recommend these.
You talk about nobody else having the key, but 2 min before you showed harbor frequent with an $80 kit in case you lose your keys. You don’t think the keys will be will be available for them?Ya know in case someone loses their key.
The Harbor Freight kit was for other security nuts, not these. You can register your "combination" at the company's website and order a replacement key if needed. You can also order spare keys when you order the nuts themselves. I just bought and received 20 identical nuts + 3 matchingvkeys.
Man if they want it, they CAN get it! If they got enough time. Most ADVANCED theives tow the whole damn car now. That's why it's important to keep your insurance coverage up to date in case this happens to you..
Here is the thing, my car is 15 years old and insurance would treat me that way paying me nothing. My suspension and exhaust cost more than the car is worth. I live in a high rise with a 6 story parking garage. I've seen a couple of cars sitting on cinder blocks, wheels stolen. One was for OEM wheels on a 4-runner and the other was a mustang with like 2k wheels. Without a doubt, I have the nicest wheels in the building. It's a lot easier to get away with stealing wheels vs stealing a car. Plus the jail time is a lot more serious for grand theft auto and finding the car always happens; not with wheels. I'm not worry about someone stealing my car, it's a stick shift. People can't drive sticks. Plus I got eyes in the building on my car.
@UCd1CPLlptw-kOgwQbwgy3Sw I totally understand what you're saying. But like I said, if they want it bad enough, they can get it. I have a G37 coupe, with almost 30k in mine with 3pc custom Advant Guard wheels. I took an extra insurance policy out on it, so I'm covered for every dime in it. The reason I said advanced theives, is because they tow vehicles, they don't take wheels...they just take the whole car WITH people watching!! No driving required. ANYONE can be touched, at ANY time bro..
Why are you tring to give me nightmares? Yeah I have an issue with insurance companies, I always have. Even my 2017 Lincoln, I only have liabilty coverage, same with my G. Because if you do the math out for 5 years what you are paying in insurance for what ifs, comes out to the exact price it cost if something did happen. To have full coverage on my 2017 lincoln with a $2,500 deductible over 5 years is $7,000. So if something did happen, the insurance company already has 7k from me and then wants another 2,500 to make the claim. I only paid 16k cash for the car. Not doing it, I hate insurance companies. I've had my G35 15 years and I have never made a claim. The price I paid in insurance I could have 2 G35's. Donn't even get me started...
@@MotordyneG35 Lmao!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But 2500 deductible!!😳😳😯 I'm nowhere NEAR that!! Damn!! In fact, your deductible is my six months coverage!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣And that's for FOUR vehicles!! Sounds like you need to move. But I do understand about the "what ifs"....thats where the term comes in that "I'd rather be safe that sorry". I don't like insurance companies either. No way in hell am I putting my G on the streets with just liability!! Someone could hit you, and you're fucked!! 🤷♂️ But we not going to speak any of this into existence!!😉😊
@@nonameisthename138 ..we could debate this all day, but insurance companies love people like us, we are the profit. When you know you only have liability coverage, you drive differently. Not one accident in 15 years with the G35. I pass everyone, I'm always at the front of the pack of traffic to not get rock chips. My exhaust sends Shockwaves as I drive and I drive more aggressive than anyone else on the road. I will even pass you in the berm if are in the fast lane impeding traffic. I don't use turn signals because that is asking for permission to turn, I don't ask with turn signals or people floor it to not allow you over. I aggressively lane cut without asking. I'm the definition of a horrible driver to insurance companies and people. Yet, I've never been in an accident. Call it luck, but I call it skill.

Anyone going for wheels would rather go for wheels that do not have a wheel-lock than one that does (or even in this case one that has a more-complicated wheel lock vs. one that has a less complicated wheel lock).
@@TheBynirn that's obvious
If you wouldn't mind giving an update on these wheel locks I have a few questions. First question is it rusting or chipping on the finish and also the internal disk in the wheel lock are they loose or tight I thought the disk may move inside when using the key. Last do you still have your wheels with these locks cause those wheels are nicer than my stock Honda wheels but Honda wheels equal theft.
The inside of the wheel locks are permanently positioned by casting. It will never come loose. Finish is perfect, still have them. Just uploaded a video today with drone shots.
Thanks for the quick reply much appreciated.
Any updates on this? Still working?
Of course they are still working. Don’t you see all my new videos with the work wheels still on? I travel to do drone shots for the RUclips channel staying at random cheap hotels, no one can take them with these locks.
Just got a 2020 accord hopefully this comes before the Puerto Ricans spot my shit lol
Pricing?just got some aftermarket wheels thx
Aftermarket wheel locks cost more and I go into detail why at the end of the video. I paid $130, just reach out to Liz at Advance Wheel locks tell her I sent you.
@@MotordyneG35 Dang thats Pricey!
@@ankm7326 pricier than wheel/tire replacements?
Wow, I'm so glad I saw this video. I am moving to a city were theft is a lot more common and so I have been wanting Rimgard but they don't seem to have designs for subaru or aftermarket, these look like the match for me.
These are way better than MacGuard but they're are not foolproof. Ideal Donut just published a review on 4 wheel locks and they easily removed these with a nut extractor.
Boom. two or 3 locks per wheel and you;re golden
They don't make them for lugs that have the threads on them.. being a new Co. hopefully they will in time get to other styles of lugs for different cars.. Hope so.
Just ordered a set for my tahoe, how long do they take to be delivered?
How long did it take for you to receive?
The socket at 3:13 is hollow. What is it demonstrating?
It is a special socket to remove locks. It is soft enough to hammer it to a conventional lock and then you can remove it.
Do those fit other cars?
Yes, they fit every make and model. Just tell them if you have OEM wheels or aftermarket wheels.
Is this company out of business? Been trying to order and can’t get anyone there.
Try again. Ordered mine 9-10 days ago and received them today.
@@robertwong4060 got a set three months ago
Well it looks like I found what I was looking for
Sucks they don't have any for Mercedes
Me and a buddy got these off easy all you need to do is get a good deep impact socket weld in a good spade bit set all that’s left is cutting a slot into the wheel lock and that s%# ah come right off if I were a theif I’d walk around with that socket as a tool to take thoes off you can use wire cutters too if you have to be silent
damnnnnn THANKS FOR THIS lol finally something that unique that thieves can't get into
I would feel better about leaving my car outside with these. Just have to find a good hiding spot for the socket and remember where I put it.
I keep my locks with me at all times. When I go in my house for the night, so do my wheel locks.
They need to make some for bmws
seems to work but they don’t have anything in stock , everything has to be special order and they don’t have anything for my new car. so useless
Let’s challenge the lock picking lawyer 😂
I bought a set of 5. They look and feel well designed, but I needed a 6th one made for a tailgate wheel mount on a gladiator. I never could get customer service to call back to discuss my issue. With no service after the sale, I would not recommend these.
Did the car have to be running lol
If somebody came to my shop wanting to remove these I probly weld a 18 mm bolt and then they will come off
@Benito Camelas ...in addition to spending far more time than a thief will spend
right, to your SHOP.
Gonna buy a set for my work wheels too and do a video on my
RUclips as well. Ty for sharing I’ll do the same
You talk about nobody else having the key, but 2 min before you showed harbor frequent with an $80 kit in case you lose your keys.
I have Honda Accord euro... u read my mind sir
Thanks bro 🤟🏾
I know they are new but they will need to start answering emails if they want to build a legitimate reputation.
Customer service is half the business.
How much are those wheels?
It's debatable which is worth more the 15 year old G35 or the Wheels. That's all I'll say.
Bolt extractor, gone as easy as $15 McGuard
The iPhone of Wheel Locks 🤓does this mean they're crappy then... lol?
I got mine last week, after my wheels was stolen
just bought them.
@UCd1CPLlptw-kOgwQbwgy3Sw
I totally understand what you're saying.
@@MotordyneG35
Lmao!!

Make sure to comment back here when your wheels get stolen for buying cheap wheel locks. How much you spent on wheel locks that don't work, the new wheels and tires you had to buy.
@@MotordyneG35 still not worth $125
It’s worth $125 if you spent 2k on aftermarket rims and tires..... everybody and their bother has keys for common wheel locks
@@MrEvtmazda
How much would it cost to replace all of your wheels and tires? Seriously, do the math.
I have stock rims and nice-ish tires ($150 each). Buying basic wheels and the same tires would cost me $1,000 just to drive around.
Better to buy these NOW for a fraction of the cost of replacing your current wheels than spending that same amount PLUS the cost of your new wheels and tires because you got robbed.
@@andrewryan2559 A lug extractor will yank these right out. They are still easily defeated by thieves.
👍
these like those dumb inventions people make that does the same job as old tools, I guarantee that socket will be loose of the second time your taking the wheels off for any reason, it looks fragile as hell
You would be wrong. Your old school ego is fragile, not the socket.
Pretty cool and ofc safer than regular antithief but still... You can weld it ;)
you could probably do a lot of things to eventually get them off but would a thief do that?
