Oh dear Jenson. What a terrible race by Honda. Pole position turned into nothing. Uncompetitive in the race then the engine goes. To be fair Ferrari were just as bad. Good win for Fernando and a good poduim for Ralf. Great video and bringing back great memories.
Ferrari indeed had a worse time; both cars were eliminated in Q2 after Massa crashed and Schumacher simply lacked pace. Massa was taken out at the first corner, caught in a pincer movement between Rosberg and Klien, while Schumacher endured the embarrassment of being overtaken by Liuzzi's Toro Rosso-the only team still using a V10 engine with restricted revs-before crashing out at the final corner. Jenson truly had a terrible race. ITV-F1 had built up anticipation in the pre-show, suggesting that the Australian Grand Prix might be where Jenson would finally secure a win, especially after he dominated qualifying, finishing four-tenths ahead of Fisichella and half a second ahead of Alonso in the two Renaults. Jenson's lack of competitiveness during the race was due to the Honda RA106/BAR 008's inability to generate heat in its tires, leaving him vulnerable at every safety car restart.
